Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Additional Info:

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM @eshoe or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

There are 2 ways to edit a response:

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!

Re: @bakeamuffin So that is what that mask looks like! Thank...

@IndyQT317 I second what @bakeamuffin said!! The “Clear Up, Skin” Unicorn mask from The Creme Shop is fantastic! It really helps to clear, brighten and hydrate your face! Also, it smells like strawberries and cream! Definitely one of my favorites! 🦄🍓

You can get this one at the Creme Shop direct in singles or packs, with free shipping on a $50+ purchase in the U.S. (use code: “thanku15” for 15% off) -or you can get it in a 3-pack on Amazon for $10 and free shipping! (that may be just Amazon Prime though) -Just FYI😉

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@bakeamuffin. I have this one and I have yet to use it. Thanks for the reminder!!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I hope you love it @mermadelove! 😄 🦄

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Super cute @bakeamuffin!  Thanks for your review; this mask sounds great!  I think I have a couple sheet masks from Nails Inc.; am excited to use them now.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

This is probably like the cutest mask ever! 😍 @bakeamuffin Thanks for the review! -I had totally forgot about these! 👌

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

It’s inspiring me to try more masks,

I can’t resist all the fun ones on the market @Shosh85 😄

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@bakeamuffin Oh, this looks interesting! I love the blush color and your eyes look so pretty!!🤩😉 No, really, this sounds like a really nice one, especially tightening pores!! Thanks for the great review! What did your kids think?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hahahaha 😆 mask and complete makeover all in one ✨😂

My kids loved this one, they’re usually inturigued by my fun masks but this one has been their fave! 🦄 Espeically my daughter, I can’t wait for her to be big enough to mask with me 😊 thanks for asking @yankeefaithful 💕

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Not sure how old your daughter is @bakeamuffin, but The Creme Shop has a set of "Mommy and Me" sheet masks - the one for the kids are shaped like a kitty!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi THANK YOU!! 😍 These look adorable!! One more reason to ignore the price difference of CAD from USD and place an order. This would be perfect to use with her for a girls spa afternoon 😄 19D41379-7B90-4B42-B736-2A061ADE53B7.jpeg

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Aaack!!!  I forgot about the price difference - ugh!!!  Sorry.  Hmmm.... we need to find a store in Canada that carry these sheet masks!!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi that would totally be ideal, I think I’m going to place an order soon from them anyways, their prices are super fair so the conversion won’t be too bad. I’m building up a shopping cart 🛒😄 Any other MUST TRY mask from them?!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hmmm....must try's would be ... the eye sheet masks are fab!  For hydration, the chia seed sheet mask and the propolis sheet mask (but beware with the propolis one, you'll probably need to cut the section across the bridge of the nose).  All the coffee-based ones are good (i.e., cold brew, caffe mocha, etc).  For discoloration and acne, I like the turmeric sheet mask.

Tagging @Shosh85 - she's super knowledgeable about The Creme Shop masks.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks for the tag, @itsfi

@bakeamuffin there is still a bunch I haven’t tried yet, but so far my two absolute favorites are the Caffe Mocha mask and the Caffeinated Eye mask. These are perfect for AM masks because they help reduce puffiness and perk up, energize and hydrate the skin. The Caffe Mocha one smells like chocolate coffee and the Caffeinated Eye Mask smells like chocolate... soooo good😋🍫☕️

Here are my favorites for certain issues:

Hydration: Wake Up, Skin! (Raccoon) mask and the Propolis (honey) Mask. 🍯

Puffiness and dark circles: Cafe Mocha mask and Caffeine Eye mask. ☕️🍫

Clearing and brightening: Clear Up, Skin! (Unicorn) mask 🦄🍓(smells like Strawberries & Cream😋)

Aging, smoothing, fine lines: Blueberry Banana 🍌

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Totally @yankeefaithful I can’t wait to share our masking with you guys, having others who understand how fun and amazing skin care is the best👌🏻💕 I’m raising the next generation to love skincare as much as we do 😂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes, @bakeamuffin!  Echoing @yankeefaithful's comment - pics of your mommy and me masking sesh with your little one would be fun!!  Smiley Happy

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

What a cute face mask, @bakeamuffin! I didn't know Nailsinc had face masks Smiley Surprised

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I was surprised when I saw it too @SpaceLlama, I’ve been hoarding it away for a few months and was so glad to have it today! 😊

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Last night's masking:

The Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask is a creamy exfoliating mask with glycolic acid and papaya enzymes as the active ingredients.  It says it’s non-irritating and I would agree; this is a very gentle acid peel mask.  I did experience some tingling, the slightest bit really, near my cheekbones, but that’s about it.  I started feeling it about a couple minutes after I put it on and it lasted maybe for a minute or so.  There’s a fresh, light scent to the mask.  Directions say to leave the mask on for 10 minutes and then rinse to remove.  This peel mask is okay; I think it would be a nice one for someone new to peels or with really sensitive skin.  I use other peels and acids regularly so I don’t know how often I would incorporate this one into my routine, but I could see myself reaching for it when my skin, for whatever reason, may be very sensitive.

After the Caudalie peel mask, I went with The Crème Shop Avocado eye sheet mask.  Y’all know that I love these eye sheet masks from The Crème Shop.  The fit on this one is fantastic; it feels relaxing when I have it on and is very moisturizing.  After I took the mask off, I went about 4 hours before I felt the need to apply moisturizer.  There are 5 variations of the eye sheet masks – caffeine, cucumber, sea kelp, avocado and charcoal.  Counting this one, I’ve tried them all except for the caffeine and sea kelp ones.  @Shosh85 raves about the caffeine eye sheet mask and that is a huge plus in my book; that’ll be the next one I try out.

While I had the eye sheet mask on, I decided to multi-mask with the Caudalie Detox Mask (not pictured) that I used the other night.  This time, I used it as a spot treatment for a couple of cystic acne bits and that worked out very well – the acne bumps have dried up and flattened out; there’s some redness there, but that is to be expected (and that’s where The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin and the NARS concealer will come in handy).

This morning's masks:

Blithe splash mask came in handy this morning.  I wanted to get in a sheet mask before leaving for work and the splash mask helped to cut down my morning routine (skipped the 7-skin method) without having to compromise the softness, brigtness and bounce I typically would get from using an exfoliating pad and the 7-skin method.

After the splash mask, I used The Crème Shop Propolis Face Mask – this one is another winner from The Crème Shop.  The only issue I had with the Propolis sheet mask was the fit at the bridge of my nose and the inner eye area – it was a lot wider than any sheet mask I’ve ever used – so much so that I had to cut the mask straight across in the area to keep the serum from getting into the inner corners of my eyes; I wondered if this one just didn't get cut/shaped properly in this area because this is the first time a Creme Shop mask I've used has been like this.   There’s a sweet scent to this mask – I can smell honey in it and something else…a sweet florally fragrance, maybe honeysuckle?  The scent does linger a bit, which I was fine with, but I think I was hoping for more of a natural honey scent.  Wide nose bridge area and scent aside, the results are hard to beat – my complexion had a fresh glow to it and felt soft and hydrated.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi Great masking!! I'm always interested in eye masks and the Blithe Splash looks like something I would really like! Products with Honey always seem to work well! With your masking choices,  your skin must be in great shape!! Thanks again for great reviews!!😊
