Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Awww, thanks @mermadelove! You are always so sweet 🙂 I do find it amazing how skincare can vary so much from person to person! One person's holy grail is another's breakout bomb!

@MissPuff THIS IS SO TRUE! Tatcha and Sunday Riley are my HGs. But I wish I could collect cast off from the people whovaidcSR broke them out!!!! I find it so hard to fathom as she literally saved my skin! It makes me wonder if they just didn’t wait the few weeks for the initial purge!

Yes @MissPuff!  The Detox Mask is my T-zone's new BFF!! 😉 Love how easy it is to layer on and  I was happily surprised by how well it performed without drying me out. The detox mask came in a set of 3 masks - given how well this one worked, I'm looking forward to seeing how the other ones work out.  Have you tried their glycolic peel mask or hydrating mask?

@itsfi I've tried both! The Glycolic Peel is fairly mild, leaves my skin nice and smooth, but nothing earth shattering, and I prefer other acids/masks. The hydrating mask is quite nice as well, leaves my skin nice and plump. Out of the three, the Detox is the only one I've purchased and repurchased multiple times.

@itsfi:  I've had mixed feelings about clay masks and Caudalie as a brand, but after reading your review, I'll be digging out my Caudalie Detox mask samples and giving them a go this weekend! Thanks for posting! 🙂

@MlleCC  I usually have some reservations about clay masks - they can be so drying and have not always had the best results with Caudalie. But their clay mask really surprised me with how gentle it was and at the same time it did a decent job of decongesting my pores.  I'd be interested in hearing your experience with the mask after you've had a chance to give it a try.  Hope it works out well for you!

@itsfi Great reviews! These both sound great! I think I prefer the milky serum as opposed to a liquid-y one. 👍

Ive tried some of Caudalie’s moisturizers and loved them... I’m definitely adding this mask to the list! 🙌

Thank you @Shosh85!  I would never have thought that I would like milky serums in sheet masks more than liquidy essences, but after using so many during these masking challenges, I'm a huge fan of them!  I was always concerned it would be too much for my skin, other than maybe in the cold winter months, but the milky serums have done a fab job in the warmer months as well.

@itsfi  This looks like 2 great masks!!  I haven't try too many products from Claudalie but may look into this one. Always looking for detox masks for the summer. Glad to hear your skin looked great this am!!

Thank you @yankeefaithful!  🙂  Do give the Caudalie detox one a try - maybe you can get a sample first to see how your skin responds to it.  It was detoxing without stripping which is definitely a plus!  ❤️

I so agree with you - good detox masks for the summer are a must. Let me know if there are any ones you use or come across that you like.

Early Morning Mask

So this is from Amazon, which I shall pretend is a pharmacy. My brother got this for me. IT had fantastic reviews. Ther’s a tiny bit of grit in it so when I rinse off I got some exfoliation out of it, too. It has a very mild smell and feels good on. Much like the Boscia pudding mask, it does not dry down completely. It washed off easily and slightly reduced the size of the spots in my current breakout. I think it was around $17 so great deal for a nice sized mask! It also comes in black and pink, which are detoxing and brightening specifically. The green one I’m wearing they called ‘clearing.”

This is the first time I've heard of the brand but the mask looks and sounds great!  How long did you keep the mask on? Masks that do not completely dry down are much gentler on the skin (yay) but I never know how long is long enough to keep those types of masks on.

So nice of your brother to get it for you!

@itsfi. Thank you! 😊😊 I left it on for a half hour. My skin was not striped after I sued it. It felt soft and my makeup went on like a dream! I agree that the masks that don’t dry down all the way feel less harsh. 

My brother and his soon to be wife are two of the sweetest people I know! They also got me Pusheen and Stormy keychains. I LOVE PUSHEEN! And fluffy stormy reminds me of my own curly coils hair! LOL
