Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Well, it did take ages to remove... @Aaliaa your mom is right! I swear it took like 45 minutes. Phew.

But I think this mask is good for my marriage? lol 

I had my husband come take a look while I was putting it on (I'm super anemic right now so I was joking about deciding to just smear iron filings all over my face)... then about half an hour later he helped me take the whole thing off because we were both so entertained by it 👨‍🔬👩‍🔬🔬💆

I don't think I would have the patience to do this more than every couple weeks, but as long as I don't wake up breaking out tomorrow I would buy a full-size to keep around for occasional entertainment. Hopefully it does something amazing overnight too... the reviews are pretty good.

I wonder if you could just buy a stronger, bigger magnet. the ELF magnet is actually much better (according to YT videos!) @fieldsofclover

@Aaliaa  I'll definitely get a bigger magnet next time. I think my parents have the perfect candidate on their fridge, actually 🤔

Omg. I totally agree @fieldsofclover! This mask is so much work. I've tried it several times, it is just not worth it in my opinion. It funny you mention your husband. My BF was the same way. 😆 He asked what it was, then watch me take it off, then wanted to help me take off, then wanted to use it himself. 😂 The only positive feedback I have about it is that it is fun to bond over well you spend time taking it off.

@Lazybeautybeast Yes there's something weirdly compelling about it for some people? While he was doing the magnet-ing part DH was like "I don't know how the mask is but this is actually kind of therapeutic... for me." 🕉️🤷

OoOo @fieldsofclover I had seen that one all over YouTube when it first launched and it peaked my interest but I totally forgot about it! The tutorials on YT it looked SO EASY to remove. Maybe you need a thinner layer? How does it feel when it's coming off, does your face feel really clean? *I do not need this mask, I do not need this mask, I do not need this mask*

@GG84 Not going to lie, it's going to be one of those love it or don't things so definitely get the mini first if you're going to try it. My face felt... psychologically clean afterward? Because I could see the magnet removing every last bit of the filings and leaving only clear serum behind. This morning after washing my face feels *really* clean but not stripped. I don't even want to put on makeup today, which is saying a lot.

It has an unholy amount of dimethicone in it so proceed accordingly.

My mum has been talking about this mask non-stop! We went into Sephora today (I walked out empty handed 👯‍♀️) and she mentioned she got it a few months ago and it it like a supercharged clay mask. The magnet is supposed to be a real pain though as it takes ages to remove the mask. 

More importantly, did you like it @fieldsofclover?

Absolutely nothing weird about this mask! Got this in a Top Box a few weeks ago, I was expecting very little for some reason, but the ingredient list was pretty good. The mask was very 'wet' and felt like the DIY mask I make at home. I would use it if I got it again, but probably wouldn't purchase it.

 Bubble mask. Mostly meh feelings. Didn’t deep clean, didn’t hydrate, barely bubbled. Had two pimples the next day. However, the milia I had around my nose disappeared, and treating milia is such a pain i may hold on to it.

A bubble mask that barely bubbles?  I wonder if it was exposed to too much oxygen in storage since it’s in a tub and not a pump... @nikki

it’s nice that it’s working for one of your skin concerns though!  And that packaging is adorable.

@heartsmyface That’s a great point, the packaging is probably reducing the bubbles. I’ll have to try it again to see if it really helped the milia or if that was a coincidence. Mostly I just bought it for the packaging so 💁🏼‍♀️
