Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Tried this one out tonight. Nothing too “weird” about it other than I usually drink my matcha and this time I’m spreading it all over my face!

It felt good, very cooling and once on my skin for 5-10 minutes I gently massaged it and rinsed off. Parts of my skin looked clearer (like my nose area) probably because of the small gritty texture found in the mask and overall my skin felt smooth and not overly dry. We’ll see how it feels in the morning.

I haven't bought much from Body Shop in a long while but I use to love one of their masks. It was a light grey clay mask and I used it for years! Glad this 'weird' ask worked well for you @sojess!

omg @Aaliaa same here! I went from using The Body Shop exclusively like even their makeup to not at all. Now I'm loyal to the Tea Tree Oil line but trying out some other products too.

@sojess, green tea and masking?  This seems like it's calling my name.  I have a very vague memory that I may have received a foil of this mask with a promo code ... though that could very well be wishful thinking on my part.  Well, if I didn't, I think I may ask for a sample. I like that olive oil and shea butter are in the ingredients list - should make it less drying.

hi @Anonymous! I do love tea and masking, too 🙂 I liked this mask as I found it kind of does it all: it tingles when you first put it on so it's very refreshing, it felt it was really cleaning out my skin, and then when you wet your hands and start massaging it before rinsing off, it really exfoliated my skin. My nose area seemed clearer which is great! I didn't find it very hydrating, though. I have oily skin and I actually liked how shine-free it left my complexion. But following up with my usual night routine of serum/essence/moisturizer/facial spray did the trick to hydrate my skin after the mask. I would have loved to have a  bit more product in the sample because it didn't seem like enough to get a good even layer all over my face. 

I hope you do find that sample but if not, let me know as I have a few extras and I'll be happy to mail one out to you!

Awww @sojess, you are so sweet!  I'll take a look later tonight - fortunately, I sorted through most of my foils a couple of weeks ago so I won't have to go digging through my drawers looking for it.  😉

Well I tried out a peeling mask and ended up having to wash it off cause it hurt to peel it and i wasn’t going to put myself through that.  Into the trash with this one.

It's such a fine line with those peel off masks @heartsmyface ! I feel like there are so few that don't either aggressively stick making them impossible to get off or don't peel off all the way and leave little pieces all over your face haha

Also jump starting on weird mask week. Turns out it’s more like, weird routine - hah

First, I started by dermaplaning my face and neck (AKA shaving off my peach fuzz). I get a lot of fuzz on my cheeks and chin, these super cheap razors from amazon do the trick. I typically do this every other week and only use each razor twice. If you’re interested, there are a lot of YouTube videos that are very helpful at explaining the technique. 

After dermaplaning, since it’s not just “shaving” but also exfoliating the dead skin, I also do some sort of mask. It’ll really sink in! This week, I did my favorite peel from Korres. It’s very gentile and leaves my face feeling extremely soft.

@scott1201 I have a dumb question about derma..does the peach fuzz grow back rough? 😶😶

Hey, @GG84! Totally reasonable question! So the thing is it’ll FEEL rough because you’re going to get used to it being smooth and hairless. The fact is though, it’s a completely different kind of hair than course hair. The hair that grows on most women’s faces is “vellus” hair. The courser hair (think men’s beards) is a different kind of follicle called “terminal” hair. 

TL;DR - it’ll feel course but it’s still the same kind of hair you had there before.

I get dermaplanning down every other month with I get a facial and I really like the results. No peach fuzz, everything absorbs and applies better, plus my skin feels so smooth.

@scott1201 Nice exfoliating procedure.  I bet your skin feels great. I've seen dermaplaning, but just haven't taken the step to start. The Korres looks like a nice mask to try. Thanks for the info!

It’s a two step-er. First, the gel in the pump from r about 1 min. Then the potted gel over top (don’t rinse step 1) for about 15 min
