Looking for a sunscreen

I am still kind of new to the skincare community, but I am still searching for a sunscreen that I love. At the moment I am using the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  and I do like it, but I am wanting to try some more. I’m not sure what some good sunscreens are though. I also live in Canada so I do not have access to some sunscreens. I have oily and acne prone skin, with a medium skin tone. Let me know your recommendations!!

Re: Looking for a sunscreen

Elta MD is the best sunscreen on the market. No breakouts, and it calms redness. it feels nothing like a sunscreen and everything like a really great moisturizer.

Re: Looking for a sunscreen

I second this! I have been using EltaMD for years now! Nothing like investing in your skin than with medical grade products!

@Acissejsanghera

I concur with the EltaMD sunscreens. I’ve used many of them and have liked them all (although none are my go to at the moment).

However, there is no such thing as medical grade sunscreen, or skincare in general. And labels such as “dermatologist tested” or “dermatologist approved” are just marketing gimmicks. Literally one dermatologist can test it and they can slap that label on. The actual filters in sunscreen are regulated in the US as drugs, so I suppose that is the medical part of it. But skincare formulas in general are a largely unregulated and there’s nothing medical about it, even if it is developed by a dermatologist or named after one. It’s just a way for marketing firms to get us to spend more money.

@Sophia508  I really like Coola sunscreens, is there something particular you are looking for in sunscreen?

Re: Looking for a sunscreen

I’m mainly just looking for a sunscreen that is not too heavy on my skin and is more likely to not cause breakouts. Because some sunscreens cause me to breakout badly

Re: Looking for a sunscreen

I’m not sure if it’s because of silicones because Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  is one sunscreen that actually hasn’t made me breakout too bad. I appreciate your recommendations and I’ll definitely be trying them!!

Re: Looking for a sunscreen

@Sophia508  The Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++  has silicone in it do you find products with silicone break you out? I have super sensitive skin and I prefer a physical sunscreen like COOLA Mineral Face Matte Tint Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 30 Cucumber  I break out with heavy silicones. I’ve also used Supergoop! Dailyscreen Moisturizer SPF 40 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  it’s more of a moisturizer and I believe it’s silicone free. I don’t get any breakouts with these ones. I’m in Canada as well and I know there’s a bunch of other great products you can try I prefer to get things more readily available to me then wait forever to get shipped from the us!!
