Hydrating serum for oily acne prone skin

Hi,

Can someone, please, recommend me a good hydrating serum for oily, acne prone and open pore skin?

I'm searching for something I can use on daily basis (morning and evening), before my cream for oily/acne skin.

Thank you 😊

Re: Hydrating serum for oily acne prone skin

hi! I love the brand Innisfree for acne prone and oily skin. I use the green tree hydrating serum set with the pore clearing cleanser and my breakouts have stopped dramatically and my skin has been really hydrated. I've been using them for around 2 years and I can't recommend them enough ❤️ they also have a hydrating trio set with a bunch of hydrating green tree serums that you can pair!

I love the Josie Maran Argan oil in the LIGHT formula.  The original is too heavy. I used it when I had acne.  I use it now day and night.  At night, I pair it with a prescribed acne cream at night. Where on your face is your acne located?

Thank you for your reply.

I have acne on cheeks and forehead.

Re: Hydrating serum for oily acne prone skin

I was told by my derm that cheek and jawline/chin acne was hormonal-related.  She gave me an oral prescription (spironolactone) and Tretanoin (ointment).  I also had to remove certain things from my diet like dairy (I do still have this on occasion in moderation) and extra sugars.  I also have anxiety; so, the dietary cleaning was helpful in moderating the anxiety (in addition to exercise, leaving my STRESSFUL job (lol), adding probiotics, omega 3's as well as supplemen-form hylauranic acid and living a healthier lifestyle).  I know everyone's acne story is different.  but, I want to share mine in case it was helpful.  From my experience, the most helpful thing was going to the dermatologist and then editing my skin care routine.  A Sephora specialist told me that my skin was dehydrated as opposed to oily or dry (I thought it was either or, depending on the season).  That helped me figure out what ingredients I needed and what to avoid.  I did notice that adding too many products was not a good look for me in terms of skin care (i.e. toner, exfoliator, mask, plus serums and creams).  My face got seriously irritated. for my night routine, as I mentioned, I've scaled down to using Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta cleanser--it's pretty gentle on my face and also allegedly helps with pores.  I spritz on the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.  Then, I use Josie Maran Argan Oil (light, as I mentioned).  After, I apply the prescribed tretanoin and then top with first aid beauty ultra repair cream (probably will stop using during summer).

That's true, probably it is hormonally related since I have problems with thyroid gland hormones.

I have been to a dermatologist several times already, but none of them have been able to help me yet.

And I definitely have to remove dairy products and refined sugars, when I am under stress I eat a lot of sugar, and then my skin is horrible.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice. I think I will give another chance to the dermatologist.

@Sandy7394 What else is in your routine? I love a good hydrating toner like Benton Snail Bee Skin or Etude House Moistfull Collagen toner. Some good hydrating serums I've liked are Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 1.69 oz/ 50 mL , Elizavecca Hyaluronic Acid, belif Hungarian Water Essence 2.53 oz/ 75 mL

Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm using products from Skintegra (Croatian brand). I'm using their gel cleanser, exfoliating serum for oily & acne-prone skin, and their cream.
