Help me with my skincare routine PLEASE

Need advice on a skin care routine! I’ve never had one so I have no idea where to start or what to use?? I just turned 30. My skin is pretty “normal” not to dry and not oily. I am starting to get fine lines around my eyes and I have forehead wrinkles. A hint of dark skin above my upper lip.. thinking it’s probably Melasma. I also have redness on my left cheek that showed up several years ago. I dont get any acne but I do get blackheads on occasion. I have dark circles under my eyes also.. would really like to have an every day/night skincare routine to help my face out.. please help 💕💕

Re: Help me with my skincare routine PLEASE

@MrsLedford First, start with a gentle cleanser.  I think First Aid Beauty Ultra Gentle Pure Skin Cream-to-Foam Face Cleanser with Colloidal Oatmeal + Glyceri... is excellent.  To combat aging, antioxidants, AHA and retinol are an excellent place to start.  Antioxidants would be the easiest to try first.  I like FAB Ultra Repaid Hydrating Serum (having trouble tagging it).  For AHA, 5-10% is good.  Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant 3.3 oz/ 100 mL is a good one available from Sephora, although I prefer Alpha Skin Care 10% AHA gel.  Once you get used to that, you can start slowly with retinol.  For beginners, I rec FAB .25% Retinol.  I always think it's wise to use a retinol from a brand that divulges it's concentration.

For blackheads, BHA will be your best friend.  I only rec Paula's Choice.  Since you only get those on occasion, you may like Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Exfoliating Toner for Clear Skin 4 oz/118 ml .

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!  🙂

Re: Help me with my skincare routine PLEASE

I think it is better to start with a simple clean, tone and moisturize routine and try to use a gentle scrub 2-3 times a week to work on the blackheads. 30 is a good age to start skin care routine. All the best sister!
