i have looooved murad's city skin detox moisturizer (works great for evening skin tone and brightening the skin as well as hydrating!) as well as kiehl's ultra facial cream (suuuper straightforward, nothing fancy -- just a high-quality, long-working moisturizer). i will say that the ultra facial cream can feel a little greasy on my face at first, so i prefer to use it as a PM moisturizer rather than an AM one. once it settles in, though, it's amazing.
