Eye cream for irritated, dry eyes

Hey everyone,

I need help. I ruined my undereyes by getting retinal too close and using an eye cream with fragrance (why manufacturers put irritants in eye cream is beyond me). I now have a contact dermatitis and dry dry dryness that are making my previously faint fine lines more prominent. I’ve already experimented (a lot)

glow avocado retinol mask: hydrating before the dermatitis but stopped due to retinol and the avocado was a bit irritating
origins: previous day eye cream, not hydrating enough and stings

Banana bright: stings

belif moisture bomb: I liked this and thought it helped at first but the dimethicone leaves a weird film behind and has it has peaked in its benefit, I’m still quite dry after.

cerave: less hydrating than the belif actually

haven’t found the right product to fix this up. Any recommendations would be very helpful. I’ve also temporarily stopped all my actives in the area until it heals.

Re: Eye cream for irritated, dry eyes

It could be an allergy to dimethicone.   That is a telling symptom - itchy eyelids.

Re: Eye cream for irritated, dry eyes

I’ve been dealing with really irritated dry eye skin due to eczema and a product that just wasn’t for me (eye serum that wrecked havoc on my skin). Ended up trying ALPYN Super Peptide & Ghostberry Moisturizer for Eczema, Barrier and Wrinkle Repair 1.7 oz / 50 mL from the BI rewards and wow. I’ve used it once and my eyes are already significantly better! Obviously the full product is expensive but a little goes a long way and this is what worked for me!

Re: Eye cream for irritated, dry eyes

I would personally go to a good beautician for advice . I trust my with my life!

Re: Eye cream for irritated, dry eyes

If you have a diagnosed contact dermatitis then I would recommend getting a prescription of a steroid ointment. I would otherwise focus on a cream with ceramides to help protect the damaged skin barrier. Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin ™ Eye Cream with Niacinamide .50 oz / 15 ml or just go the simple route and use Vaseline for a few days for the irritation to calm down.
