+1. I know people swear by their Clarisonics, but I actually switched back to a cheap silicon face scrubber at the start of this year (Sephora makes a great one, the SEPHORA COLLECTION Precision Pore Cleansing Pad). I wanted to simplify my life, and I really don't miss having a bulky brush constantly charging on my sink.
Weirdly enough, I still use my Clarisonic Opal on the regular -- which probably does nothing and has been rightfully discontinued -- just because I'm too lazy to tap eye cream into my undereye for thirty seconds.
@jennatar Before the Clarisonic, I used a silicone scrub pad like that one. I had to stop because I tended to scrub too hardโand if I scrubbed very lightly, I never felt like the pad was doing more than my bare fingertips could. I seem to need something to do the scrubbing for me, without encouraging me to mash the brush against my face. ๐ But yeah, a silicone pad is also a good alternative for anyone who doesnโt want/need sonic scrubbing.
You reminded me of another Foreo benefit over the Clarisonic: better battery life. Oh, and the Clarisonic Mia 2 takes up more room than the Foreo Luna Mini 2. I bought a small silicone suction cup thingy to stick to my bathroom mirror, specifically to hold the Clarisonic and free up some counter space. My Foreo wonโt fit in there (wrong shape) but it doesnโt take up much room anyway.

Whooooaaaaa I never paid much attention to the Foreo, but maybe I want that Mini 2...! I had no idea it had such a long battery life. Thanks for the heads-up!!!
@jennatar Heh, thatโs one of the main reasons I bought a Foreo. Clarisonic claims the Mia 2 will last around 25 uses on a single charge (which works out to around 5 months of use on a single charge, if you use the Mia 2 once a week), but mine needed recharging every 15-20 uses at best. And it takes 24 hours to charge the Clarisonic, vs. just 1 hour for the Foreo.
I kinda sound like a Foreo salesperson ๐ but no, I donโt work for them or get any sponsorship from them. If you decide to try one, I hope it works for you!
Thank you so much @WinglessOne for such detailed feedback; itโs much appreciated. ๐ I used the Clarisonic years ago and I have a Foreo from an old sub box but havenโt used it. It seems like thereโs a lot of benefits to it; I may give it a go this weekend. Thank you again for such helpful information.
I like that Origins Plantscription Cleanser too, @WinglessOne๐๐ผ Sorry to hear about the issues you are having that might be connected to the boscia๐ค hope you are able to sort it out before too long!
@eshoe I do hope the cactus water moisturizer isnโt making my skin flip out. But whateverโs doing it, at least itโs a very minor tantrum this time. ๐
My main concerns are hyperpigmentation, dehydration, and wrinkles (getting older now!). I like trying new skincare products, so my routine always varies. Here's my current routine:
Morning Routine
Evening Routine
Depending on the dryness of my skin, I'll use the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and/or whatever moisturizer I have on hand. I tend to have samples lying around since I like trying/buying new stuff.
@gymgirl2, the Pyunkang Yul essence toner is a staple in my skincare routine! ๐ How do you like the Donginbi mist? Is it something you would repurchase?
@itsfi Yeah that Essence Toner is great for hydration, and so affordable too. I just got the Donginbi 2wks ago, so I'm still testing it. So far, I like it though I dunno if I love it especially for the price. It's fairly hydrating, but not as moisturizing as the Pyungkang Yul. It also stays tackier than the PY. I used it once as a makeup primer, and it made my satin-finish foundation look glowy-er. It did help calm some inflammation I had from a bug bite. And the mist from the spray is nice/fine. There's an herbal/ginseng smell, but it's very mild and inoffensive.
@itsfi Where can someone find the Pyunkang Yul essence toner? I keep reading great reviews about this essence!
Youโve made me into a Mizon addict ! I love this brand ! ๐
Thanks a million times!
@keana1, I get my Pyunkang Yul items through ohlolly(dot)com, but I donโt know what the shipping rates to Canada would be. They have a good guide on their website to the PY line of products that may be helpful. A Canadian site that carries the essence toner is chuusi(dot)ca; since Iโm in the US, I havenโt used that site. Iโm tagging @Aaliaa since she uses some PY products and may be able to provide more info for purchasing their products in Canada.
Apologize for the late reply but if you are still interested the following sites sell Pyunkang Yul @keana1. Yesstyle (ships from Hong Kong) and Chuusi (dot) com and Mikaela-beauty (dot) com ship from Canada so there is no chance of getting hit with duties. I personally use YesStyle to stock up on all my Pyunkang Yul. Let us know how you like it @keana1
No apologies needed @Aaliaa Thank you so much for taking your time to give me the resources for the Pyunkang Yul essence! I really appreciate your kindness!๐ค Itโs nice to have you back in the BIC!
I did some digging very early this morning and I found one Canadian site that does have this line of products. The site is called yesstyle . Thanks for letting me know what you found out @itsfi ๐
Good news! I didnโt know yesstyle was a Canadian site. Iโve ordered items from them before and have had good experiences. If you get the Pyunkang Yul essence toner, Iโd love to know what you think of it @keana1!
@itsfi I thought it was a Canadian website since the prices are in Canadian currency! Maybe Googleโs locator found out that Iโm googling from a Canadian IP address? Big Brother is watching ๐๐ฑ!
@eshoe - The ingredients list is very minimal and non-comedogenic. I think there's only like 6 ingredients. So if you have sensitive/reactive skin, it's probably good to try. It's also quite affordable. I really like it as a hydrating toner/essence.
