Does anyone else find artificial colour in skincare "cheating"?

I always like to check the ingredient list for skincare products, and sometimes I see titanium dioxide, mica or yellow/purple dye in eye creams or face masks, and it feels like these brands are cheating. Instead of really diminishing dark circles, they use dye to create the false effectiveness and people would really believe them. Does anyone else feel the same way? Or do you think it's fine for skincare to have some "makeup" benefits?

Also I'm still in search of a good mask/eye cream that doesn't contain these ingredients.. It's hard cuz a lot of the raved about products, such as Tatcha Violet C, Fresh Black Tea, OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème, all have said ingredients in them. Sad.
