Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations.  This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM.  A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were.  Hope this is useful.

*Age - 40

Skin type - oily/combination

Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*

01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used

1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)

2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)

3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)

4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me.  Testing)

5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)

6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)

I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.

General comments - Okay skin.  Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts .  My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I'll preface this post by simply writing that while this particular routine, and product order, work well for me, it might not work for everyone.

That said, below are my morning and night routines!

Shiseido jelly essence

Sephora vitamin c serum

Murad salicylic acid spot treatment

Shiseido eye essence

Moisturizer (varies per day) - Murad vitamin charged nutrient gel; fresh rose deep hydration moisturizer; belif aqua bomb moisturizer; or fresh lotus youth preserve moisturizer.

Nights

Thayer's rose witch hazel toner

Shiseido jelly essence

Mizon snail repair mucin ampoule

Inkey List retinol serum

Biossance squalane night eye serum

Thanks all!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I keep forgetting to post my updated routine in this thread. It’s changed quite a bit since March: I wash twice a day now (no more water-only rinsing in the AM), I started an OTC retinol serum, and I’ve changed up several products.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Age - 36

Skin type - dry/combination (oily t-zone)

Current skin condition - breaking out here and there due to pregnancy hormones.

Here are my go to products for dry skin that I use everyday (pre pregnancy, I now check ingredients as there are some products I can’t use at the moment).

Origins frothy face wash and I add the Origins Ginzeng scrub 3 times a week, Fresh Rose Hydration Toner, SK II Essence, Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Leanne Grace Beauty oil for day and The ordinary Rose Hip Oil at night, Kiehls daily concentrate for day and midnight recovery concentrate at night, Drunk Elephant Vitamin C serum for day, J.One Firming serum, Tatcha overnight concentrate at night, Tatcha eye cream , Tatcha renewal cream at night and Fresh Rose Deep Hydration cream for day (I like to mix Coola SPF drops into the moisturizer for extra sun protection).  To seal in everything and to add more hydration I like adding Youth To the People Glow Oil.  I have had a lot of trial and error with my skin and all these products have helped my skin.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Congrats on your pregnancy, @SportyGirly125 !

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

@WinglessOne I have a spinner I use by my sink too for my skincare products that I found on amazon. It comes in handy especially when you don’t have a lot of counter space.

...I keep referencing back to this as I grab my tape meas...

...I keep referencing back to this as I grab my tape measure to measure my space on my vanity and check out Amazon for spinners...

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

@SportyGirly125  Mine also came from Amazon. It’s actually a double decker carousel, but I left the top tier off. It’s also smaller than the previous one I had in that same corner; I wanted something with much lower sides and a smaller diameter, and this little one was perfect. The old bigger one is now at work in the bathroom cabinet.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I love your spinner!  It houses items on my list to buy ex: Herbivore Emerald Hemp Seed Deep Moisture Glow Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL

And that Biossance.

And 1 that I have a little sample of that I want to try: ESTéE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II

Among all the other goodies.  Thanks for sharing!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

@WinglessOne  The way you store your cotton rounds 😍 brilliant idea!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Thanks @RNGesusPls ! Those cotton round holders are what I was actually searching for on Amazon (to hold disposable cotton rounds) when I found the reusable bamboo rounds. 🙂 The holders were around $8 USD each.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

This is what I'm currently using. I don't use all at the same time of course but it does change based on whether I'm using the Babyfacial, traveling, if there's a weather change, etc.

Not pictured (was in a rush, my bad):

SK-II - Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil

Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion toner

FRESH - Soy Face Cleanser

COOLA - Mineral Face SPF 30 - Matte Tint

Age: 25

Skin type: Acneic, combination that leans towards oily, rosacea, sensitive.

It may seem like a lot of chemical exfoliants but my skin loves them and they help curb my breakouts. Good-bye cystic acne.

RE: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

A lot of my products are drugstore, but I thought I’d contribute to this thread anyway. Age: 18 Every night I clean my face with Olay daily facial cloths. They are my holy grail cleanser and I haven’t seen anything else quite like them on the market. Needless to say, if they ever get discontinued, I will be devastated. I follow with a vitamin C serum. Currently I am using the TruSkin vitamin C and hyaluronic acid serum. Then I use a moisturizer (I’m still trying to find one that’s perfect for my skin, but in the past I’ve used Clinique supercharged concentrate. It’s great, but it’s quite pricey considering how quickly it gets used up). I occasionally use a mask such as the origins original skin mask or a peel off mask. I have dry combination skin.

Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Im in my early 40s, and just decided to get serious about my skincare routine. My current night routine: Farmacy Green Clean balm. Followed by the Ordinary's Argireline solution around eyes and on forehead, and Origins Ginzing around eyes. Ginzing has been making my eyes water though, so I can't see myself rebuying, and I'm not sure how long I'll continue. I use the Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% on my face, and follow it by the Ordinary's Matrixyl 10%. Then I've been alternating between the Ordinary's Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil or Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve. I am looking for something that shrinks pores, but doesn't have Glycolic acid in it.
