Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful.
*Age - 40
Skin type - oily/combination
Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*
01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used
1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)
2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)
3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)
4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing)
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)
6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)
I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.
General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
PM 11/15
I've been using up a few serum samples and finishing my micellar water, but other than that I've been sticking to Sunday Riley products for the past week or so. I'm really liking them and the cleanser isn't too drying.
Remove makeup - Botanicals Micellar Water
Cleanse - Clarisonic with Sunday Riley Ceramic Clay Slip Cleanser
Eye Cream - Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Eye Cream with Retinol
Serum - Sunday Riley Good Genes
Moisturize - Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream
Facial Oil - Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil
Ohhh I haven't posted here in ages, I've made some changes in my routine.
11/15
AM
No idea... my brains has gone blank, probably nothing exciting.
PM
Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm
SheaMoisture African Black Soap
Drunk Elephant TLC Fambroos
Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age Serum
Drunk Elephant Hydra B Gel
Bioderma Sensibio AR Cream
PM 11/14

Cleanse - Clarisonic with Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser
Eye Cream - Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Eye Cream with Retinol
Serum - Tata Harper Boosted Contouring Serum

Also used a hair mask, Ouai mask from the hair mask kit, feels nice and hydrating, but nothing life changing.
31, always dehydrated but normal-to-oily skin that is acne prone (though the acne itself is pretty much controlled)
11/14/16 a.m.:
PIXI glow mud cleanser
MURAD essential-c toner (spritzed onto cotton pad then applied)
MURAD hydra-dynamic quenching essence serum
ORIGINS ginzing eye cream
AVEDA botanical kinetics hydrating lotion
i haven't made it home yet but this is what i intend for tonight. taking a break from the acids just for a day.

NUDE clarifying cleansing oil
SHISEIDO eudermine revitalizing essence (toner)
MURAD hydro-dynamic quenching essence (serum)
REN vita mineral active7 eye gel
SUNDAY RILEY luna sleeping oil (just a couple of drops)

I like taking a few days off acid, if only to note the difference it actually makes versus not using them. Makes me realize it's worth it/ essential
41 with oily but dehydrated skin.

1. Emma Hardie Moringa cleansing balm
2. Radical Skincare peel pads
3. Caudalie Grapewater Spritz

5. Skinowl Lavender oil
6. Sjal Intranutritive Night cream (cuz I need MOAR moisture)
So...I am preparing my skincare travel bag for an unusual trip. A 4 day train journey. I will write about it if it is worth anything....
@greenchili Have fun! I have always wanted to do a train trip. Can I ask where you are going?
I really am not "going" anywhere. What I mean by that is - the train journey is itself the end.
I am traveling across the US on train - from NYC to San Francisco. I have been to NYC and SF many times, this trip is not about visiting them again. It is only about the train.
🙂
Wave to me from the train GC!!!!
@greenchilli Hi! It's been nice seeing you post again. Does this mean you won't be spending any time in SF? 😉
11/14 PM:
- Clinique TTDO balm
- Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser
- NIOD Multimolecular Hyaluronic...
- excess serum from Farmacy Cucumber sheet mask
- ML Jasmine Garden mist
- Odacite Bl+C, Jo+L, Summer In Hossegor
- ML Blue Cocoon
- Beautychef Young Coconut lip balm
i used the pixi glow mud cleanser this a.m. !
in my head i pronounce NIOD as 'noid' and think of the weird dude from 1980s dominos commercials. not sure if that was a thing in canada.
BAHAHAHAHA! I vaguely know what the Noid is, but only from other US friends.
I have no clue how they actually meant it to be pronounced as I think it's an acronym for non invasive options in dermal science but in my head I either spell it N-I-O-D or think it as ny-odd.
In my head it sounds like
"Node"........
"Nodule"......
"Wart"....
That is what I think of NIOD - warts.
AM:
I washed my face with some water then applied Neutrogena Hydro Boost cream (not in love... definitely want to replace with the SR Tidal cream when I run out)
PM:
Kate Sommerville Detox Daily Clenser (I'm medium on it... my skin doesn't feel clean enough afterwards)
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (I don't know why but FAB products don't like me very much... I think that this product is giving a weird texture to my skin)
Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Oil (still testing, but I like it so far!)
Kate Sommerville EradiKate Acne Treatment (love)
So yes, my skincare is a work in progress and there are a lot of things that I want to replace, but it's a process!
@glossyguru I also had skin texture issues when using First Aid Beauty products. Honestly, I think their moisturizers are just too thick for my skin even though I do have dry skin.
I have a deluxe size of the Ultra Repair Cream and only use it on my hands now. It's also really nice to mix a little into clay mud masks so they don't me out as much.
The FAB ultra repair cream is a good product, but it is quite a true cream. I use it on hand and elbows when they're dry. Perhaps it's too heavy for your skin, you might like something gel-based for a moisturizer instead.
I've tried a bunch of the FAB products, but my skin just doesn't like them either. I know they're supposed to work for sensitive skin, which I have, but the brand as a whole just doesn't work for me. They're products always give me weird textures to my skin too.
AM - Nothing, my skin woke up happy.
PM - I've been using this combination of products for a week and I'm really happy with results! The Pai oil is fantastic! I have too many oils to add more, but I'm tempted. It's very soothing and does a great job at balancing/calming my skin.
Lush Aqua Marina Cleanser
Pai Bioregenerate Oil (sample)
Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydra Firm Sleeping Cream (sample)
Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm (sample)
Caudelie Lip Conditioner
i lovvve the caudalie lip conditioner by find mine always dries out before i can manage to use it up 😞
