Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful.
*Age - 40
Skin type - oily/combination
Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*
01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used
1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)
2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)
3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)
4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing)
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)
6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)
I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.
General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
What a perfect pic. You two are no doubt BEAUTIES in your own ways 👌
Looking good ladies! 😉
definitely use that shiseido product before the OH truth serum. i'd even use it before the raw sauce. it's essentially formulated to help aid whatever serums and treatments go on after it 🙂
Aahhhh I thought it was the same as an eye cream, just lighter. Thank you for telling me!
a couple new things tonight !
1/28 p.m.
skin is pretty good, a bit dehydrated, and a few clogged pores around my jaw. after my routine my skin feels super plump and happy
I've tried the Pixi mud cleanser twice now, I like it so far! Their skincare products have good reviews, I'm looking coward to testing more 🙂
PM
vichy eye makeup remover
Farmacy clear bloom oil cleanser
LA fresh oil free makeup wipe
josie Maran nirvana spray
DDG ferulic & retinol eye serum
dermadoctor eye balm
dr Brandt needle no more on lines
DDG vitamin c serum
Dr Brandt DNA night cream
farmacy sleep tight balm
That's a lot of products! I layered it over several hours
AM
Kirkland makeup wipe
josie Maran nirvana spray
estee dreamtone and fill serums
clinique all about eyes serum
dermadoctor calm cool and corrected
bare minerals complexion rescue with spf
As soon as I finish the Estee and Clinique items, I'm looking to replace with products from cruelty free brands so any recommendations?
I like Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream and Aveda Botanical Kinetics Energizing Eye Cream. Ole Henrikson Vitamin C Serum is my favorite!
Thanks Veg! I will check them out. I've been working thru a DS of the vitamin c from the ole promo.
I am posting my evening skincare so I can comment on a couple of products I had't talked about before:
01/28/16 - PM Skincare
1. Tatcha Camelia Cleansing Oil and a warm washcloth
2. Cane+Austen Acne Resuracing pads (new) - This is just a basic acid exfoliant of 2% Salicyclic and 5% glycolic - solid ingredients. But it packed a zing! I don't mind a zing, but it is surprised me as it is not a very strong formula. So lets see how my face feels tomorrow.
3. Caudalie Grape Water Elixir Spritz - Since the C+A toner doesn't have a neutralzier, I usually spritz afterwards.
4. Ren Vita Mineral Omega 3 Oil - Most oils annoy my skin, but some rare oily serums work fine. This is one of the oils that work for me. I use it solely for the extra hydration and it does that absolutely! A dehydrated skin saver!
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream
6. Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream - Excellent night cream for dehydrated skin.
I definitely agree that skin changes A LOT once you hit your 40's (and I'm almost 45 now) -
PM ROUTINE AFTER OIL-BASED DOUBLE CLEANSE
DDG XS Peel or Medi-Spa Peel on alternate nights
Alpha H Liquid Gold
Murad Essential-C Treatment
Verso Super Eye Serum
Zelen's Luminous Serum
SR Bionic Cream/Omorovicza Rejuvinating/Cult 51 Anti-ageing night creams on rotation
La Prairie White Caviar Eye Cream
SR Luna/Juno Alternate Nights - when I don't use Luna, I add in Verso's Super Facial Serum for the retinol hit.
A.M. ROUTINE AFTER OIL-BASED CLEANSE
Murad Essential-C Toner
SR Good Genes
Murad Essential-C Serum
Cult 51 Serum
Zelen's 3T Cream/Verso Day Cream depending if I'm doing skating mom duty at the rink, since the Zelen's is essential for the sub-zero temperatures
Su-Man Brightening Eye Cream/Zelen's Triple Action Eye Cream/Omorovicza Gold Eye Cream, on rotation
SR Juno/Flora
I definitely feel my skin looks a lot better now than back in my early and mid-30's when I was just using products like La Mer and La Prairie. Learning about the role of peels, Vitamin C, and Retinol, has been skin-changing! 🙂
Thanks so much everyone for all your help getting me here!
1/26 PM:
Lancome Bi-facial eye makeup remover
Dr Jart Dermaclear Micro Water (makeup remover)
Soap & Glory Vitamin C face wash
Exfoli-Kate treatment (rinse-off)
Tony Moly Red Wine sheet mask (was going to use the Makgeoli one but when I opened it there was a weird black spot on the mask that looked like it might have been mold... so I threw it out :/). Left this one on for at least 30 mins. Liked it. These fit my face well.
Natural Organics argan oil blend
Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Cream
Verso Super Eye Serum
Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate
1/27 AM:
Philosophy purity with Clarisonic, Radiance brush (shower)
FAB Facial Radiance pad
Murad Hydrating toner
Belif Hungarian Water Essence
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance serum
OH Youth Activating Oil
Murad Redness Reducing Moisturizer, spf15 (I like this one but although it's green, it doesn't actually color-correct or anything, and also it smells like limeade, which is ok but an odd scent for moisturizer)
Shiseido Ultimune Eye Concentrate
Bare Minerals Renew & Hydrate eye cream
Skin is good, albeit a little dry/dehydrated. Will drink more water 😉 Added a moisturizer on top of my retinol the past few times I used it (KS Oil Free Moisturizer) and no bumps/breakouts/bad things which is a complete 180 from the last time I tried a moisturizer at night, so I will continue this on retinol nights.
This AM: quick cleanse with FAB cleanser
Chanel toner, Raw Sauce, OH Vitamin C serum, NUDE Rescue oil, KS Oil Free, Algenist eye cream - all this to go to the barn and get sweaty!
I'm surprised I haven't gotten wind burned while riding yet (temps in the 20's-30's last few times I have been out), and I think a large part is due to the NUDE oil - yay!
This PM : cleanse with boscia black cleanser, MB Rosewater spray, boscia essence sample (it''s ok, nothing miraculous, will finish the DS size and probably not repurchase unless I really end up hating Raw Sauce or Missha), NUDE serum, Lytera skin brightener/serum stuff, SKII eye sample
age 29
skin type: normal to combo
skin condition: somewhat dehydrated due to overexcessive coffee drinking and not enough water or good skincare regiments the latter reason is a great excuse to jump into this thread to hold me accountable

Age - 21
Skin type - Normal, leans oily
Current skin condition - My chin had a wilder 2015 than I did (ha!), so now I'm boasting two lovely scars that I'd rather be without.
AM
Thoughts: Just got the Mizon moisturizer, so I'm taking it out for a test drive. I've heard from others than it needs to be worn layered, but so far it hasn't given me any problems.
Age: 23
Skin type: normal to dry
Current skin condition: A little dehydrated.
1/27 AM
- Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Cleanser
- Murad C Toner
- Shiseido Ultimate Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate
- Marcelle Hydra C Moisturizing Gel
Comments: Trying some new things. Used my boyfriend's cleanser to see what it's all about. Still waiting for the Shiseido eye stuff to infuse me with power.
Age - 26
Skin type - Combo, oily t zone, some hyerpigmentation
Current skin condition - A little dry and textured from stress, accidentally sleeping in makeup, and hormones
01/27/16 - AM skincare
Comments: I skipped the Rice Enzyme Powder this morning. I'm tired.
Will post skincare tonight hopefully. Until then - skincare thoughts:
If I have a "not so positive" experience with the first product I use in a line/brand, that makes me gunshy about the entire line. Even for brands that I have researched and know they make some good products, use good science, and have been effective for many.
For example:
Sunday Riley - Luna annoyed me.
Lancome - 18yrs and counting...
Kate Somerville - A spendy moisturizer that was a dud and bothered my skin a bit....maybe 6 years ago.
Even 30% coupons have not pushed me over the edge. I hold skincare grudges...for a long time. Not always with good reasons.
I need to hold more grudges…I always try different products thinking THIS will be the one…and it never is 😞
this is me
I agree with you except that I usually try two products from a brand before writing that brand off. Sometimes I happen to have chosen to try the wrong first product from a brand, and am pleased with the second one I try. But if both are poor products, then as they say, fool me once.....
