Choosing a serum

My skin type is combination, hormonal acne. I've been using the Origins Willowherb serum for about a year. I'm looking for serum that is more hydrating and anti aging. What's your favourite serum? What would you recommend for my skin type and wants?

RE: Choosing a serum

Farasali the one with the gold flakes is like AMAZING on skin... i rotate Btwn that and Vinters Daughter ❤️

Re: Choosing a serum

I would try something like    Biossance Squalane + Tea Tree Balancing Oil 1.01 oz/ 30 mL  if you are not afraid of oils or the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum they are completely different but both will help with acne, acne spots and anti-aging.

Re: Choosing a serum

I recently started using Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment 1.7 oz / 50 ml and it changed my skin drastically in 10 days!!! Paired with DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum at night and OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OH 7% AHA Exfoliating Dark Spot Toner 6.5 oz/ 190 mL has been a big game changer! For oils, I go between The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL and HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil or FourthRay products. I hope you find something you like @CByul

RE: Re: Choosing a serum

Thanks! 🙂 I heard great things about the Sunday Riley one. I got a mini version to try. The vitamin C one, can that be used during the day too?

Re: RE: Re: Choosing a serum

@CByul  I don't recommend using Good Genes during the day. It contains lactic acid which is an AHA and any AHA's will make your skin more sensitive to UVA/UVB rays. Some people use it during the day and just use a really good SPF on top but in my experience AHA's are best used at night. Good genes is a strong product and can cause some mild irritation/redness if your skin is not used to it which is another good reason to use it at night IMO. The vitamin C serum is great for during the day as it protects your skin from environmental stress you are exposed to throughout the day.

Hi @CByul I agree with @sparkles0913

I wouldn't recommend using the  Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment 1.7 oz / 50 ml during the day unless you are really going to load up on sunscreen. I use all of my AHA products (the other one I use alot is FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acids) at night to keep my skin safe.

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner...with all things COVID I have been very busy at work.

Re: RE: Re: Choosing a serum

That one breaks me out like crazy! I don't even know why.

Re: RE: Re: Choosing a serum

Oh no @spaceboots i'm so sorry to hear that!

Have you tried FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acids? It's another of my favourites.
