Best roscea skincare and makeup products

I am 46 years old and just found out that I have roscea. After all these years, that is something I don’t need. I need some skin care and makeup suggestions. I am trying to keep it from flaring up. I am fair skin, oily/ combination skin, acne prone and sensitive skin. I’m looking for suggestions about face wash, toners, moisturizers, sunscreen, primers, foundations, setting sprays and setting powders. I need some help please! 🙂

RE: Best roscea skincare and makeup products

I have rosacea as well, clinque sells a great line for redness and rosacea as well as Eucerin. Eucerin has a great moisturizer with SPF and a cleanser that's gentle yet effective. The key is to find your triggers what makes you flush etc that way you can avoid certain products. Everyone's different but I've been able to incorporate retinoid and AHA and BHA into my routine. Just have to find what works for you

RE: Best roscea skincare and makeup products

Hi @Fcmworthy. I developed Rosacea after both of my pregnancies. It subsided after awhile though, which makes me think it was hormone-related. I do have hormonal acne though. I was wondering what prescription medications you were on. I take Finacea foam (azelaic acid) for acne and hyperpigmentation, but it is typically prescribed for Rosacea. I swear by it. I think the foam is so much gentler than the gel, and it does not irritate or dry out my skin at all. Regarding primers and setting sprays, try Too Faced Hangover RX for both. They are both oil, silicone, and alcohol free, yet manage to be very moisturizing. I also love Korean skincare. My skin has significantly changed for the better since I started using Korean products. Amazon has a nice selection and so does Ulta. Some good brands are Cos rx, Skinfood, Etude House, Pyunkang Yul, Innis free, Neogen, and Dr. Jart’s. Speaking of Dr. Jart’s, they specifically make products with tiger grass in them to combat red skin (you can purchase at Sephora).

Thank you!! I’m going to speak with my dermatologist about Finacea . Is it a face cleanser or a topical medication?

RE: Re: RE: Best roscea skincare and makeup products

Hi @Fcmworthy. It’s a topical medication. I hope it works well for you!

Murad and glam glow have been amazing so far! Definitely get a sample (they are waterbased)

Re: Best roscea skincare and makeup products

Hi @Fcmworthy! I've had rosacea since I was about 17.  I have similar skin to you, so I hope this will help.  I have found that what works on my face is different almost literally season to season. The biggest tip I can give, especially if they have introduced you to a new topical, is don't do all of this at once.  I find that if I introduce more than two new products at a time my skin will completely flare up and I basically have to start over.  Here are my current favorites that so far have worked through multiple seasons (first time that's happened in a long time).

If you have any questions on treatments or anything, feel free to ask. I've been on most of the meds over my lifetime at some point or another.  Keep in mind that this is the regimen that works for me and absolutely may not work for you.  That's the problem with rosacea.  I could wake up tomorrow and not a single thing on this list work anymore.  Nature of the beast. 😞
