Accutane Skincare

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me!

I'm on my first round of accurate (treating acne & rosacea), I took most advice with accutane treads and have been using Vanicream or Cetaphil (or Spectrogel) as my face wash, CeraVe PM moisturizer (or their other thick moisturizer) along with Aquaphor/ Vasaline on my lips/ above my lips. (for SPF I use either SkinCeuticals or EltaMD)

My skin is still ridiculously flakey, dry, irritated (it will sting from how dry when I put moisturizer). I'm going to be on accutane for minimum 9 more months, so I need to find a better way to manage the dry skin since I'm also moving to a more dry climate soon.

I'm open to anything, my main research has been around Youth to the People and Drunk elephant, as I prefer no fragrance products however I'm open to any recommendations (High end and low end)!

Thank you to anyone who can help/ give some recommendations! 🙂

Re: Accutane Skincare

I was on Accutane for 10 months in 2018. I used Belif's The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb religiously. I think I went through 3 or 4 tubs. Also if you end up with chapped lips, try Dr Dan's Cortibalm on Amazon. It is AMAZING!

Good luck!

RE: Accutane Skincare

I would suggest using liquid vitamin e! It is sooo nourishing, non-irritating & has always helped calm my skin from irritation, flaking, dryness, sunburn, or irritation from products too harsh for my sensitive skin. It will def help your dry skin a lot, plus it’s super affordable! (& it’s also amazing for fine lines, wrinkles & is all natural) :- Def try this before spending a ton on expensive alternatives! Here’s a link: I also love ponds dry skin cream w/ the light blue top (a staple in most grandmothers cabinets) but def try the vitamin e first! Hope this helps ❤️

RE: Accutane Skincare

Thank you! Someone else recommended Vitamin e as well so I’ll definitely look into this. 😊

Re: Accutane Skincare

hi @JessGarbett I too went through accutane and totally know how you are feeling! It was such a hard time for my skin. The second round I went through I discovered Dr. Barbara Sturm skincare... and let me tell ya.. this is a miracle worker ---

The Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream Rich 1.69 oz/ 50 mLDr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and Dr. Barbara Sturm Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL  SAVED MY SKIN. Also, the Dr. Barbara Sturm Calming Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL is amaze for rosacea. These products are expensive but sooo worth it-- nothing else has worked this well for me.
