Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Masking two days in a row... who am I ??? A time traveling Shawna from early 2019! lol

Spoiler
Started off with the Snail Hydrogel eye gels again.  Really gotta watch those slippery little suckers, they have a tendency to be cheek gels if you aren't careful.
Then pre shower (I shower at lunch time lately... because why wake up early when you can use your lunch and no one sees you?)I used the Caolion Blackhead Steam Pore Pack.  I don't really have blackheads, but I can notice a bit of clogging on my chin and nose and honestly I have maybe two uses left in this... I want to use it up to make a bit of room for some newness. I do like this mask, I bought it based on a sample and the 'grittiness' is great without being too much.  It does heat up as you massage it in while rinsing. Pores do look better after use.
Post shower I tired out the It's Skin Hyaluron Plump mask, a gift from @mrsmouse !  Opening the pack I noticed a stronger scent that I couldn't really place, however by the time I got the mask on, I didn't notice it anymore.  The mask itself was a super nice material that hugged my face nicely.  The chin that I often find too long and end up tucking under by a few inches actually fit really well for me, I also usually need to fold over some material at the temples so that the mask isn't in my hairline, not here.  I did however need to cut between the eyes (something I normally do anyway), as the eye holes were pretty small.  The mouth hole was equally small, and I was okay with that until I decided I wanted to snack lol.  The mask stayed wet for quite some time and I had it on for about 15 minutes when I decided I needed to cut off the philtrum in order to have a cookie.  Such is life.  I kept it on for another 25 minutes and my skin really did feel plum and hydrated.  I didn't top with another moisturizer and just had this on for the rest of the day until bed time since I wasn't going outside or even near windows (sad sad basement office).  I really enjoyed this mask, thanks so much for sending my way mrsmouse!
My evening sleeping mask was again the Dr. Jart.  I don't mind this, and I'll keep using it all week/til it's gone.  It's not feeling super heavy so hopefully this will be another bottle gone before the end of the month, so I can move onto newness.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie a cookie!!! Love it,,, that's a great idea,, I'll have to remember that tomorrow when I'm drinking my coffee 😆

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

lol @lmaster Sometimes you gotta prioritize!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie I willing to bet a few more find themselves in the same boat as you-afternoon has become a favorite of mine😉

I hear ya on finishing stuff to get on with newness, too!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe @missjeanie yes to afternoon masking! Though I think I accidentally had my camera on for a brief moment at the beginning of a call that was just a one on one with a coworker. They haven't mentioned it but I'm 99% they say me with a face mask on for a few seconds before it became just audio only. Oops!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica They just might have been impressed 😂

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a bit of a new schedule these days.  Working from home has proven to be interesting to say the least.

I have some newness on the way, but honestly I went on a bit of a buying bender there and I have three boxes full of stuff to open up... I just need to empty out some things first.  First world problems for sure!

Hope your afternoon today is wonderful @eshoe !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you, @missjeanie - you too! 😊

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  The It’s Skin Hyaluron Pump mask is one of my all-time favorites, so I’m always happy to see it work for other folks! It’s getting very hard to find (I’m pretty sure It’s Skin has discontinued it, along with their Bemu Pump sheet mask ☹️) so that was a very kind and generous gift from @mrsmouse !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh what a bummer that it's not out there anymore @WinglessOne !  I really did like it.  And you're right @mrsmouse is always more than generous!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie Yay for found 2!
Cutting the philtrum part to eat is definitely something that happens pretty consistently with me - I swear masking makes me hungry, even if the mask isn't deliciously scented 😉

I bought a box of those sheet masks just based on the reviews here! So happy it turned out great for you too!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ha ha... I'm glad I'm not the only one @Shosh85 !  I used to mask after dinner so it wasn't a big issue, but with my schedule being so random now I might be doing this more often!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Two days in a row and multi masking to boot! You’re on a roll @missjeanie! 👊🏼😃 You go, girl! 🙌🏼

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ohhhh ya... gonna go pick out my post lunch time shower mask now @itsfi !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, that’s awesome! 😄😄

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

H is for Herbivore and Hey LO

IMG_0551.jpg

Spoiler
Used the Herbivore prism mask.I feel like my face has been looking quite dull and uneven, i've definitely been picking at it a lot since I've been home so much so this was nice. Standing by my thoughts from last time - I think this did a really nice job, it's very gentle, it's not quite as effective as baby facal but it's also not as intense so it's a good middle ground.

I really enjoyed the HeyLo Vital Red Mask. It's a creamy cotton soaked serum mask although it was very hard to get unfold for some reason. The fit was really nice. It doesn't smell like tomato but it did have a sort of fresh-y scent. When I took this off my skin felt nice and hydrated and was not tacky. I would totally use this again!

H is for Holika Holika

IMG_0542.jpg

Spoiler
I tried out the camomile version of brewed mask series this time which is supposed to purify and smooth. The first was the same as the lavender one - it's a decent fit, a bit large. The mask was well saturated so it was easy to drop the tea bag in for full "brewing" . I did not like this mask as much as the Lavender one and I'm not sure I'd really be compelled to buy it again. It was fine, but I'm not a huge camomile scent person and I didn't really feel like the mask did any soothing or purifying.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I'm really intrigued by the tea ones and have a couple I've been gifted. Sorry the camomile wasn't the best scent @Kim888

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 I have a tea version from the motm box,, I'll be very interested to see how it performs and smells,, thanks for the reviews

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888  Sorry the camomile one wasn’t awesome. It’s good the others were working great!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 I love that Hey, Lo mask! They make a broccoli one that I haven’t tried yet.

What did you think of the Akar?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe A broccoli one sounds interesting!

The akar is just alright - I feel like it hydrates in the moment but doesn’t have good longevity so I often find myself needing more
