Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Such a good theme @faeriegirl! I gotta use my honey bear hair mask but am trying to not have too many open products at once. You picked a nice line-up.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Super cute honey sesh! @faeriegirl

RE: Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Looks like a fun honey 🍯 themed masking session @faeriegirl! I always smile when I see that bear packaging. I didn’t get it because I od’d on the honey scent for a while.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This honey theme @faeriegirl!!  💛🍯 💛🍯💛🍯 Great products all around here! 😍

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl  Love a honey theme! The Oozoo and the lippie are both old favorites and loves of mine too! Glad you enjoy these! 😋🍯

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl  Love your honey theme!! The sheet mask looks amazing!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The past couple of L masks:

LuLuLun (from the lovely @itsfi 😘)

Spoiler

LuLuLun Plus Sweet Drop Nature Care Mask🍯

A medium thickness cotton sheet mask that was saturated with plenty of serum. It had a pleasant scent, that smelled mostly like almond oil to me, with a hint of honey - but almond oil isn't listed in the ingredients and my nose was a little stuffed up, so I'm not 100% sure on that. It's quite possible it was the avocado oil I was smelling, I just can't remember exactly what that smells like. 🤔🥑 It was just slightly too wide at the sides of the forehead and too long at the chin. I left it on for about a half hour. When I removed it the leftover serum absorbed quickly, but left behind some tackiness that lasted about 20 minutes. My face looked less dull and maybe a touch brighter, and my skin felt refreshed and comfortably hydrated.

This is a great hydration mask and I'd gladly use again, though I probably wouldn't purchase only because of my personal preference to limit parabens.

Spoiler

The Creme Shop Lavender Oil Infused Face Mask

This is a medium thickness cotton sheet mask that was saturated with plenty of serum and had a lavender/floral scent - not my favorite at all, but it was light enough that it didn't bother me too much. It fit like a classic Creme Shop mask - too long at the chin, too wide at the sides of the forehead, the space between the eyes was a bit too wide and it just kinda felt baggy. I left the mask on for about a half hour and when I removed it most of the serum was already absorbed. There was only the very slightest bit of tack, that took only about 5 minutes to completely absorb. My face felt refreshed, hydrated and was soft and smooth.

This mask was just ok for me. The results weren't very impressive, the fit was wonky and I didn't like the scent, or that fragrance was so high up in the ingredients. It claims to gently treat acne, but I didn't have any to test that out. I'd use it again, but I wouldn't repurchase.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I have a couple lu lu mask packs I need to try,,, but I've been on this Lapcos kick 😆 @Shosh85 all your fault 😉

RE: Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I do like the creme masks in general but lavender scents masks are a bit much for me. Lavender is a wonderful scent but oof, can’t handle if it’s right on my face. @Shosh85

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Good to know about TCS Lavender Oil sheet mask @Shosh85. 🧐 It’s been sitting in my bin for a while now. I pick it up ... I put it down ... up ... down ... 😝 As I was reading your thoughts on avocado 🥑 oil, I thought about running into the kitchen to see how the avo oil smells. Hahaha 😂 The honey and packaging on the LuLuLun drew me in. Then the sales associate said “it’s a very good and popular brand in Japan” and into my little basket it went. So easily swayed. 😂 I mean, what’s she going to say Fi? 🤷🏻‍♀️ “It’s really awful; you really don’t want to buy it!”? 🤪🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  I really enjoyed the LuLuLun mask I'm not positive what it was that I was smelling, but it smelled good nonetheless. I'm easily swayed too, especially when it comes to skincare and makeup and food... (ok, a lot of things sway me 😂) The packaging itself would lure me in 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85  Sorry the Creme Shop mask wasn’t quite up to par. I wouldn’t be able to use that one at all (lavender extract + peppermint extract = no bueno for my face), but the LuLuLun mask looks and sounds lovely. I bet the almond scent comes from apricot oil. I should be on a mask low/no-buy for a few months, but I kinda wanna try this one now.

Funny: I just got a box of a different variety of LuLuLun masks and planned to use one this morning, though I pretty much never do sheet masks in the AM. Instead I’ll probably use one tonight. I like their peach mask a lot; I have just one more left, and I saw that LuLuLun direct is having a sale through sometime in April... so much for mask low/no-buy. 😄

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Politely butting in but I heard peach 🍑  mask!! 👀😍 @WinglessOne @Shosh85 Is it the 7 sheets in 1 resealable pack peach mask or a different one? 🤔

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  The one I’m almost out of is the Premium Yamanashi Peach mask. I think all the premium series are 20% right now. Not to encourage more mask spending, but... 🙂

The masks I just got are the pink daily use pink box. I won’t use them daily because I have to space out all honey products used on my face. And they contain tangerine peel extract, something I don’t want to put on my face daily. But I like the other ingredients and wanted a 5-10 minute sheet mask for occasional use, so I added them to my last SkinStore order during their 25% off sale—which is still happening, I believe.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you @WinglessOne! I have the one you just picked up, the Premium Yamanashi sheet mask.

I hear you on the tangerine peel extract. I have to be careful with citrus fruit extracts and oils in masks; I can use them but just have to be mindful of too regular use as my skin can have be sensitive to them depending on what else I’ve been using on my skin.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@WinglessOne  Oh, yup, could've been the apricot oil I was smelling 👍
A peach one sounds yummy! I pretty much love peach everything 🍑

I always feel like all the sales pop up right after I put myself on a low/no buy 😂 Sometimes you just gotta break the rules 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85  Glad they both were ok! It least they weren’t really bad!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather  The LuLuLun mask was great, I just try to limit using products with parabens when I can  😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85, I’ve noticed that parabens seem to be a common ingredient in many sheet masks from Japanese brands. Just FYI.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Yeah, I've noticed that too. Avoiding parabens have now become more of something I use as an excuse to not buy a mask, not so much because of fear of getting cancer. 😂

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sometimes we have to draw upon whatever we can to rein in our sheet mask purchasing habits @Shosh85! 😉
