Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

I'll be curious what you think @Shosh85. I also think I massaged the serum in better because other than Aurora which had a puddle of pink shimmer, there wasn't much left in the package.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

Wanted to post my impressions of the new Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind™ Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfoods Hair Mask 8.0 oz/ 240 mL.

I don't have a lot to compare it to, as it's been ages since I've used a hair mask.  I generally just let my usual conditioner (Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm) sit for a few minutes in the shower.  For reference, my hair is very thick; it is naturally wavy (I flat iron religiously); and is frizz-prone, and runs dry.  What luck!  I'm usually able to combat much of these issues due to my current routine.

Initial reaction: It was the shade of pistachio pudding and smelled very sweet - like Pez.  It was thicker than I thought it would be, and creamier, too.  It spread very nicely.  What I really liked was that it got through the mid-lengths of my hair easily, which tend to get tangled up after shampooing.  (For reference, I use Pureology Hydrate Shampoo.)

Midway: The instructions say to leave this on for 5-10 minutes.  I didn't time myself, but I'd say I left it on for 7 or 8 minutes.  I used a little more than I normally would, just in case.  However, I felt that my ends weren't feeling as supple as I would have liked, so I topped this with some of my usual conditioner.  The whole thing was easy enough to rinse off, especially considering that I used so much product.  After rinsing, my hair did feel moisturized and I was actually concerned that it might be greasy.

After the shower: I was disappointed to feel that my wide-toothed comb didn't glide through effortlessly.

While blow drying/flat ironing: My hair seemed to dry a little more quickly, which is a total plus in my book!  AND, I was able to shave a few minutes off my flat iron time - total life saver.

The finished product: My hair didn't look or feel as soft as I would have liked.  I was rather disappointed to see that my ends looked especially frayed.  I also thought that my hair usually looks sleeker.  All in all, I prefer my daily conditioner to this.  I got two of these as a GWP, and now wish I had picked up only one.

ETA: I had forgotten how well my usual conditioner tamed the broken hair I have along my part.  This Briogeo didn't do nearly as well.  I wrote a much shorter review on the product page since I always have trouble when copying/pasting.  I initially ranked this as 3-stars, but ultimately changed it to 2.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@greeneyedgirl107 thank you so much for this info

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@itsfi @PrettyPaint  I hope it works well for you both!  I was kinda hesitant to post about this one, b/c I didn't want to ruin it for anyone, or scare anyone off 😛

@Shosh85 I'm glad I waited for the sample b/c I almost bought the FS!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@greeneyedgirl107  I totally appreciate the feedback! It definitely didn't scare me off. The only thing that would have scared me off is if you had said it made all your hair fall out or something like that! 🙂

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@PrettyPaint Good one!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@greeneyedgirl107, not ruining it at all. It’s very thoughtful of you to think of us; for me though, it really helps to know how a product works for people, good or bad. No need to hesitate with giving your feedback. 🤗 Some beauties will work better for some than others.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@greeneyedgirl107, I picked up the promo size of this mask. Haven’t had a chance to use it but am now prepared for what to expect. Will be interesting to see what results I get.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

Thanks for the review @greeneyedgirl107. I think I chose this as my most recent sample, so I'm curious whether it will perform similarly on me. Sorry you didn't have a lot of luck with this one.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@greeneyedgirl107  I have been so curious about this one! Thank you for your detailed, honest review! Sorry it wasn't too impressive. Sounds like something I should wait to try a sample of first 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

PSA:

New masks from The Creme Shop! I'm not sure I'd pay full price for them, since the brand can be so hit or miss - but new releases end up at TJ Maxx/Marshall's all the time, so it's something to watch out for! BD48BD8C-8244-4842-9FE8-7EA4B6A8678B.jpeg

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

Oooh neato @Shosh85. I like the fit of the fusion ones a bit better than some of their others, so I will definitely be on the lookout.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@PrettyPaint  So far, it seems out of all The Creme Shop masks I have notes for, the character masks have had the best fit overall and the fusion masks are more 50/50. Although, in my opinion, the fusion masks are better in terms of results - which is why I was a little excited to see some new ones out. 😃😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@Shosh85 awesome!! The watermelon looks great!! Do they have the rainbow on their site?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@Shosh85 yes, @sonnydee found the coconut/chia version already! These look good, seems like it's been awhile since they have come out with some new ones. Can't wait to hear about the scents:)

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge! - PART 1

@eshoe @sonnydee  Nice! I thought those looked familiar 😉 Hope they turn out good!
