NEW!!! Got an idea for next year's challenge? Let me know! Was there a challenge you'd rather not repeat? Share below, so we can start building the 2021 schedule:
@Shosh85 Sounds great!! I’ll keep my eyes out for the beauty diary ones!
@ather I've only tried 4 so far, but have liked them all! Have you tried any My Beauty Diary Masks?
@Shosh85 Not yet! But I’ll definitely be looking for them now!!
Today’s mask was received in a gratis package. It is FRESH - Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Brightening Powder. It was almost like an instant facial. It is applied to a freshly washed and dried skin. You pour the two packets into your palm and add about a tablespoon of warm water to activate. Apply to your face and massage for 30 seconds before rinsing. I plan on using this mask more often on work days. I applied lots of SPF 50 per the instructions. I look glowing without the use of any highlighter.
Ohhhh... great reminder! I have one of these to try out from unicorn mail. I'm glad you enjoyed it @Loretta55 !
@Loretta55 glowy skin sounds awesome. I've heard good things about theis.
@Loretta55, great to hear you like this one; it gives such a nice fresh faced glow to the skin.
Best of all, it is quick @itsfi! I am always looking for something that gives results quickly.
I've had this in and out of my loves list @Loretta55 the price is always what I get conflicted about
Sounds nice @Loretta55. It's always a good idea to use lots of SPF. But I appreciate when companies encourage it!
@Loretta55 Never saw this one! I will definitely try it out!!
@Loretta55 I love this one! Great results and delicious scent! Glad to hear you enjoyed it too! 😃 🍊
R = red fruits a plenty. Last night’s mask was the new-to-me JayJun Honey Dew Red Mask.
Notes:
Claims: Moisturizes and firms skin; provides a glowing complexion.
Ingredients: Yes, alcohol is high on the list. But niacinamide and hydrating trehalose are listed even higher. There are some interesting skin conditioning extracts on the list, plus honey, propolis, and the 5 red/pink fruits called out in this mask’s marketing info.
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Triethyl Citrate, Niacinamide, Erythritol, Trehalose, Alcohol Denat., Glycereth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Honey Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Propolis Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Prunus Speciosa Leaf Extract, Phaseolus Radiatus Seed Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Rumex Crispus Root Extract, Beetroot Red, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lecithin, Caramel, Adenosine, Butylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Hydroxide, Sclerotium gum, Sodium Polyacrylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Dimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Fragrance
Performance: The sheet was very pale pink, obviously dyed by the serum. It fit me as well as other Jayjun sheets: good length, wide enough for nearly my whole jaw, and no cutting/tearing required. The mask was fully saturated with watery serum and I poured a handful extra from the sleeve. The serum smelled like standing in line at a juice bar: apple, beet, a hint of honey, strawberry at times, and pear (though pears aren’t in the ingredients). A persistent but not overwhelming scent that I enjoyed; I kept turning my head to get a stronger whiff of it. Though alcohol’s listed high, I could barely smell it while wearing this mask.
I wore it for 30 minutes, then spent a full 5 minutes massaging serum into my skin. Then I left it alone for 10 minutes to see if the serum would finish sinking in and settle down. I didn’t have any pilling but my face felt like I’d applied too much rosehip oil.
Results: Glowy and overly moisturized skin. Even my driest skin zone felt greasy. My oily zone shouted “oh you MUST be joking,” so I wiped my nose down with my fingers to remove as much greasy residue as possible without having to use a wet cloth. I didn’t use a moisturizer anywhere on my face except a tiny dab of CBD oil on my eyelids and brow bones. Oil or a cream moisturizer anywhere else on my face would’ve been extreme overkill.
I’m glad I used a hydrating serum under this mask so it had moisture to seal in. But good grief, I did not expect the greasiness. I can’t say my face felt any firmer than usual, but this mask certainly delivered on its moisturization and glowing complexion claims. Folks with very dry skin on their entire face might better appreciate this one. Combo skin folks might have trouble with it. Oily skin folks should probably skip it altogether. I definitely won’t look for more of this mask.
Thanks for being the one to review this one for the oily skin gal over here @WinglessOne 😆
@WinglessOne Thanks for the in-depth review. This one would be perfect for me. I’ll definitely keep my eyes out for it!!
@WinglessOne Sorry to hear this one was a greasy mess! I tried the Green version and it was pretty much the same - super greasy. I have dry skin pretty much year round so I didn't mind it so much, but it wouldn't be one I'd repurchase either.
@Shosh85 Oh boy... I also have one sleeve of the green version to try. 😄 Not looking forward to it if it’ll leave my skin as greasy as the red version.
@WinglessOne I've only ever tried the Green version, so I'm not sure how it compares with the red one, but I did write in my notes that "it was greasy even for my dry/dehydrated skin" and "probably not for people with oily skin." I'll be interested to hear how the two compare in terms of greasiness.
Since it’s a hair mask, I will post this here. Love the Amika @missjeanie sent me, but I don’t use it as often as I should because the 1-lb tub is buried under other products. I wanted to reuse my LaLa for something, this works great for the shower. Now I won’t forget!
Easy application means I will use it more:)
