Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@greeneyedgirl107  Aww. Thank you for everything your doing as well!! It sucks your mask is bothering you too. If you can’t find any let me know I can try and pick some up for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather Thank you for the offer.  That's very kind of you.  Unfortunately, work is only letting us use masks they issue.  It's a bit frustrating.  I'm just going to stop typing right now - or I will go on a tangent about their policies!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@greeneyedgirl107  I’m so sorry. That sucks. Keep your chin up!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Emoji medical mask Corona Virus Disease, Heart, Yellow, Electric ...

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@greeneyedgirl107  I work in healthcare as well and I’ve experienced the same issue. I’ve been using Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask Original not super easy to get right now. I’ve also used the polysporin night lip mask and I keep that one in my drawer at work. (I don’t like leaving my expensive ones at work) and it’s been helping me. My whole face got irritated from the masks we were given ☹️

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather The Polysporin Lip Mask sounds interesting.  I am going to look into that one, and see if I can find it locally.  Thanks!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@greeneyedgirl107 @ather thank you both for all you do!!! 💋🤗 I second the Vaseline!! It's a go to for my boys

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster You're sweet!  Thanks!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@greeneyedgirl107  I also use Vaseline. I use it on my hands too when I’ve sanitized too much!!  Polysporin night mask is what I get in Canada. There’s another brand similar In the us too so it be different.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather Thanks for the heads-up!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I = Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask EX Pomegranate. I don’t use this mask often because of its fragrance and alcohol content. I used it last night because I’m still in cica mask mode to target acne and related inflammation, and I wanted to use an on-theme mask I haven’t yet shared in this thread. (Cica is the 15th ingredient in this mask.)

Not to be confused with the non-EX version of this mask, which has different ingredients.Not to be confused with the non-EX version of this mask, which has different ingredients.

Notes:

Spoiler

Claims: Plumps, smooths, and moisturizes skin; boosts radiance.

Ingredients: In addition to pomegranate, this mask contains brightening peony root and soothing ingredients cica and chamomile. Sodium hyaluronate is listed last. I wish it was much higher, especially since alcohol is the 4th ingredient.

Spoiler
Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Alcohol, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, Punica Granatum Fruit Juice, Dimethicone, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Centella Asiatica Extract, Adenosine, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Disodium EDTA, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Sodium Palmitoyl Sarcosinate, Fragrance, Pantolactone, Sodium Hyaluronate

Performance: Super thin sheet that has 2 little tabs on the forehead. I call them “Innisears” because many Innisfree masks have them. Sometimes I cut them off, other times I just fold them down and out of the way. Serum drips off the sheet, and I can usually get half a handful of leftover serum from the sleeve.

Each time I open this mask’s sleeve, I get a strong whiff of floral + citrus perfume hiding an alcohol smell. It reminds me of a specific bottled perfume but I can never remember which one. I smell it the whole time I wear this mask—30 minutes last night, and it didn’t trigger a sneezing fit or headache this time but it has in the past. After removing the sheet, I spent 2 minutes massaging in residual serum. No pilling. Moderate tack.

Results: Moisturized and moderately plumped skin, with a dewy glow. My inflammation was still present but slightly reduced—and to be fair, inflammation reduction isn’t one of this mask’s claims. This isn’t a mask I routinely seek out or restock; I think the few I currently have came from a friend. But I do think it’s one of the better masks in Innisfree’s My Real Squeeze EX line.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@WinglessOne uughh I used one mask with the tabs and it frustrated me so much 🤣

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster  I don’t like the tabs either, but they don’t bug me much. 🙂 I don’t use them when applying sheets, and it’s easy for me to remove or fold them out of the way before putting the sheet on my face.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

If I ever see those again @WinglessOne I'm cutting them off immediately,,,I didn't realize how annoying they were 🤣

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I’m so curious about the scent, @WinglessOne. I’ve had that experience, too. Many times it’s another beauty product, one I’ve used long, long ago. At least it didn’t give you a headache 🤷🏻‍♀️ Interesting conversation below, too. I didn’t know they change up ingredients per country. That seems like a lot of hassle for each mask variety.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  Sometimes the ingredients are largely the same but shuffled up. I don’t know how many brands do this, or for how many of their products.

I kinda wish I had a sample of whatever perfume this mask reminds me of, just so I could finally identify it. 😄

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@WinglessOne @ather @Shosh85, I’m just guessing here but do you think the “EX” might mean “export” or “exported”?

The packaging on the one in the pic has Korean on it. I don’t think the ones that are sold at Innisfree US stores have the EX on it or information about the mask in Korean on the front of the packaging. I’ll try to remember to look through my bin this weekend.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  The ex for export is a good possibility! - and the US site does only carry the non-EX versions. Like @WinglessOne mentioned, I have a feeling the EX version is the newer line. I read that with Laniege the EX in their products indicates that it's a new improved version - so I'm wondering if this is the same thing. 🤔  I have a few of the non-ex versions and they do all have the Korean writing on the front. Here's the honey one:

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 @WinglessOne, do you recall where you purchased your EX masks? @ather

“Gosh, it looks like we found ourselves a mystery.”16B8CDB9-B013-42DE-BEBA-1FDB0C23A8F9.jpeg

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  @Shosh85  @ather

My current batch of pom masks came from a friend and I don’t know where she bought them. Probably from YesStyle. But I do also have a batch of ginseng EX masks I bought in-store from either TJM or Marshalls last year.

It’s not unusual for brands to switch up their skincare product formulations for different countries. That could be what’s happening with these Innisfree masks. Innisfree(dot)com does state that the product names of their My Real Squeeze masks might be different per country. Maybe EX is the name used in Korea, and the “EX” is dropped for the US market. Or maybe EX is the newer or older version of this line after all. 🤔

Someone should ask Innisfree direct about this. 😄

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  I don't have any of the EX versions. They were selling a bunch of the non-EX versions at TJ Maxx, which leads me to believe that the non-EX line is older.
