Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather, in Vancouver, we had poutine at Timber, La Belle Patate, and Smokeโ€™s. I wanted to get them when we were in a restaurant in Victoria as well but I didnโ€™t know how my tummy would handle the ocean ๐ŸŒŠ when we went whale ๐Ÿณ ๐Ÿ‹ watching so I passed on it. Here, at home, Iโ€™ve had poutine in a few places over the years - Wayfare Tavern, Smokeโ€™s Poutinerie (which has sadly closed) and Augieโ€™s Montreal Smoke Meat.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Oh wow you are a poutine expert then!!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather, hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜†  I wouldnโ€™t say I was an expert but I sure am a fan of poutine. ๐Ÿ˜‹ When I came back from my trip I was focused on finding something around here that was as close to it as possible, squeaky cheese curds especially. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Yes the squeaky cheese curds are the best. I like to buy them and make my own poutine at home but I usually end up eating all the cheese on my way home from the store ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather, hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™ve heard that is very common! ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™ve never tried that; Iโ€™ve only had cheese curds two ways - either in poutine or fried cheese curds ... both, amazingly delicious! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Iโ€™ll add that to my list to try.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Leave it to the masking thread to make me hungry! Haha! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I still have not had the pleasure of eating Poutine, but that sure does look delicious!
Sorry both of the potato masks were unimpressive. The texture on the Innisfree sounds nice, but I don't think I'd like the scent either.

Glad the Pantene turned out great! Sounds like one I need to look into! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Definitely give the Pantene a try @Shosh85! Iโ€™d love to know what you think of it. I actually picked it up at Target Portland last month. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ It was $1.99! Just didnโ€™t get a chance to try it out until the last couple of weeks.

The best poutine Iโ€™ve had was in Vancouver, BC. Iโ€™ve found a couple of places here in the Bay Area that have good poutine but my goodness, when I was in Canada, so tasty! I insisted we go to a couple of poutine places... so we could compare, of course. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Unsurprisingly, no one in the group needed their arms twisted after their first taste of it! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Just curious, do you happen to know which Target in Portland you went to? There's like 5 now ๐Ÿ˜‚ I will have to pick up the Pantene when I go next!

I've never been to Canada, but have always wanted to go - my husband and I have been talking about taking a trip sometime since it really isn't too far away from us. I'll definitely have to remember Vancouver BC Poutine! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85, the one on SW Morrison, does that ring a bell? Itโ€™s 2 stories and thereโ€™s a tacqueria nearby - Iโ€™m not good with directions like north of a place but I can usually remember food and shopping landmarks/spots! Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚

If you and your husband get the chance to visit Canada, gooooo! I want to go back! To Vancouver and to visit other parts of BC and the other provinces.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  Oh, that makes sense you'd go to the one downtown ๐Ÿ˜‰ .... and I'm the same way, I'm better with landmarks than directions especially when it's somewhere I haven't been often.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85, I loved that I could walk there.  ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Not only good for getting fresh air and some exercise but helps to limit the amount of things I purchased. Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  If you ever come back you have to TELL me !!!! ๐Ÿ˜ซ.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh yessssss!! I absolutely will @heartsmyface!! ๐Ÿค—

The Creme Shop Deer Diary Peppermint Sheet Mask

This is a thin-medium cotton sheet mask that was saturated with plenty of serum. The scent wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping for a nice sweet peppermint kind of smell, but this was more like bathroom cleaner with a little peppermint mixed in. It sounds bad, but it really wasn't too horrible, just sort of strange. It was light enough that I didn't notice it much while the mask was on. I've read some reviews on it and people were saying it did smell like sweet peppermint, so now I'm kind of wondering if maybe it smelled like that because it was sort old? -(a couple months before expiration) It fit like a classic Creme Shop mask - too long at the chin, too big all around the forehead and the space between the eyes was a bit too wide. I left the mask on for about a half hour and when I removed it most of the serum was already absorbed, and there wasn't any tackiness at all. My face looked a little brighter and clearer and was very soft and smooth. My skin did feel just a tad on the dry side, but nothing that made me run for the moisturizer.

I've gotten a little picky about what masks I'd repurchase in general but I'm especially picky about the The Creme Shop ones and this isn't one I'd repurchase - it was just sort of unimpressive all around. The packaging is pretty cute though, so there's that ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh that scent description @Shosh85 sounds like a disinfectant scent ๐Ÿ˜† and I know that scent all too well right now

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster Right? Haha! Definitely not my favorite, but I have smelled worse ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

lol... The packaging is cute though, so there's that... hahahah @Shosh85 !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  Gotta look on the bright side of things ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Well, this mask sounds overwhelmingly...ok? @Shosh85 itโ€™s times like these Iโ€™m thankful for input so I donโ€™t stock up on mediocre masks anytime soon๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  It's definitely nice to have a heads up if a mask doesn't perform well! I feel like a lot of these holiday masks have been just ok - nothing too special. The packaging is pretty cute though, and is usually what lures me in. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yeah I agree @Shosh85 - although the Sanrio ones have mostly been loves for me, but Iโ€™m biased so who knows if they are actually good or not ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰
