ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

They were all great! Thanks so much, @emaisgr8!! 🤗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That zebra mask is adorable @Shosh85!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you, @faeriegirl!! It was a fun one! 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yesterday masking included PETER THOMAS ROTH - Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask

from the PTR gratis. Esfolio egg essence sheet mask, and etc. I already have the big container of the Irish Moor Mask, and like most everyone I love it. My skin feels and looks so clean after using it. The egg sheet mask is really hydrating and I also dig it a lot. After it soaked in I didn’t need much of a night mask because my skin was so hydrated, so I went with the Waso. Also a gratis.

Not pictured is the PTR mask, Waso night mask, and laneige lip mask.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Weetart I've seen those eye patches at TJ Maxx a few times, do you think they are worth at least a try?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Oops forgot to talk about that one! They have a permanent place in my mask

drawer. I find them to have a quick and effective smoothing effect on the edge of my perma-eyebags. I use them when I wear foundation or bb cream to help keep the application smooth.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oooooh-k thank you @Weetart I will pick up a box next time I see them then!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Weetart  Yup, the irish mud and pumpkin are definitely my favorites from this set!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PrettyPaint The last time I tested the pumpkin I was silly and did it maybe two days after a microdermabrasion session. It hurt like heck! Didn’t make my face red or anything, looked good after. But the pain! I’m going to make sure not to make the same mistake with this sample and see if it’s more tolerable of a tingle if I wait a month.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Weetart  Oh no! I've never tried microdermabrasion before, but that sounds like it must have been a terribly painful combination! I hope it works well for you when you try it! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I need to try my Irish mud mask @Weetart ! Everyone seems to love it!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It really is a lovely mud mask @missjeanie it’s not drying.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Great masking @Weetart ! Is that a steaming eye mask I see?

RE: Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It sure is @divaknits ! I scratched the skin under one of my eyes like a few weeks ago when I was washing my face and it gets aggravated by the end of the day. (If you look carefully at my selfies you can see the inner bottom of one eye is puffy with extra wrinkle action, that’s the scratch) Been hitting the eye steam masks pretty hard to sooth it. They are sooo comfy and help me pass out at night.

I've recently started really liking the PTR mud mask @Wee...

I've recently started really liking the PTR mud mask @Weetart

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yay @Weetart, more love for the Irish Moor mud mask! 😍 Love those steam eye masks too. They’re so relaxing!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Lovely masking session, @Weetart

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Nice masking session @Weetart

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Awesome masking @Weetart! I really liked the PTR mask too!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Weetart Sounds like some successful masking! I love the Irish Moor and it sounds like it'd be a great pair with the Egg Sheet mask! Happy to hear you enjoyed everything! 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Friday I tried the Lapcos Milk moisture mask gifted to me by the lovely @eshoe .

IMG_1008.jpg

Spoiler
This mask is soaked in serum. So much it dripped when I was putting it on. When I took it off, my face just had so much serum on it I had to tissue it off. My face definitely felt moisturized but just too much serum, not sure I would want to use this one again, unless I was so dry I needed that much help.

Tried the Yadah Aloe for the Saturday meet up.

IMG_1012.jpg

Spoiler
This mask had a nice refreshing scent and the fit was not bad. Had a lot of serum but the philtrum area dried on me a little. Must be me. Either way it was an overall soothing mask. I was out in the sun earlier that day and wanted to soothe my skin. This is a nice filler mask to keep in the stash. It did stay slightly tacky on my skin so a little moisturizer to help with that and all was good.

For the PTR meet up, on Sunday morning I tried the Irish Moor, the 24K gold mask and the Skyn eye mask (I've used these before and love them). And Sunday evening, I tried the Cucumber mask.

IMG_1013.jpg

Spoiler
I multi-masked and used the mud mask on my T-Zone and U-Zone and used the 24K gold mask everywhere else. I really enjoyed the Irish Moor mud mask. This one didn't dry down hard and it was easy to wash off. Left my face feeling clean. The 24K gold mask was very pretty. I don't know if my face felt firmer but I think it gave it a little brightness. I would have to use it more to see if there are any real results with it. So I look forward to using the rest of the sample. The cucumber mask was nice and refreshing on my face. It did feel a little hydrated but I still felt the need to apply moisturizer. I think I want to try this cool and as an overnight mask.
