Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Masking fiasco indeed @Shosh85! 😖 I’d like to think that I will not be sucked in by pretty packaging again but I can’t make that kind of promise! Hahaha! 😂🤣😂 Yep, after something like that, you gotta go with what you know! Bamboo products have been good to my skin. 😍

I was thinking about tossing some sheet masks with alcohol high up on the ingredients list. How did you decide which to keep and which to toss?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi It sorta just depends. Sometimes if I had several masks from the same line that all had alcohol, and I already tried a couple and didn't like them, I'll just toss the rest. Sometimes I look at the ingredients to see if there's other hydrating/moisturizing ingredients along with it that might be a good balance, I'll keep those. Also, if the alcohol is listed a lot farther down, then I don't feel so bad trying those out. 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

looks like some great masking @itsfi ! Glad your skin didn't suffer too much after yesterday! the new fresh lippie looks so nice!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Me too, @Kim888! I have the slightest bit of redness on one side of my upper cheeks, but it’s not bright red and it’s easy enough to cover it up with some concealer. I’m glad I didn’t decide to wait out the stinging. 😬

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Today was a snow day for me!  Kinda fun, but kinda a bummer... had to snowplow, my front yard is now covered in about 8 feet of snow. Literally 8 feet. I did a nose strip from Dewy Tree before dinner.  I usually really enjoy nose strips to see what kind of gunk can come out of my pores.  Sadly nothing really came out.  I think the BIore strips will always be my favourite here, but I'll use up the rest of the pack for sure.

I really didn't think I was going to find much in my stash with either an "I" or in the floral range.  Floral scents aren't generally my thing so I tend not to gravitate to them as key ingredients.  Well it turns out I've got a few things to bust out this week!  The Mitomo mask in Camellia Flower Oil & Matcha Essence Mask was a delight.  I detected a light floral scent that I really enjoyed, It was floral, but there was a bit of a fresh warmth to it as well.  Maybe the Matcha?  The mask itself was a good fit, had soaked up a good bit of serum, and still had quite a bit left in the packet.  I ended up leaving this on for about 40 minutes.  It was still quite damp when I took it off and my skin felt hydrated and smooth, maybe even a touch brighter.  Any tackiness from the mask dissipated in about 10 -15 minutes. I keep picking up the packet again to smell it.  Such a lovely scent, I wish I was better at describing fragrances or that BIC had scratch and sniff capabilities.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  omg that's crazy!!! glad the mask worked out for you and I always think that as well - I'm terrible at describing scents!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888I'm hoping someone else has better luck describing the scent... I really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind knowing what it was that i liked lol!

oh honey @missjeanie I don't want to see snow EVER again!...

oh honey @missjeanie I don't want to see snow EVER again!! 😆 are you stuck inside today? stay warm. I like the biore strips also

Re: oh honey @missjeanie I don't want to see snow EVER again!...

I think yesterday was a snow day for the entire city here @lmaster !  Thankfully things are back up and running today.  I'm pretty over the snow here too, I'm ready for us to move into Spring soon!

Re: oh honey @missjeanie I don't want to see snow EVER again!...

Yeah I stopped counting how many snow days the kids were out of school, I think I stopped at 9 😫 @missjeanie

Re: oh honey @missjeanie I don't want to see snow EVER again!...

oh yikes @lmaster that's a lot!  I know buses here have been cancelled probably 5 or 6 times this winter, but schools were only closed this Monday.  My school, (I work at a college) has cancelled some night classes this year, but Monday was my only snow day... it was kinda nice to wake up as an adult and get told I had a snow day lol

Me & you both on having to shop our stash for floral! @mi...

Me & you both on having to shop our stash for floral! @missjeanie I got a few rose definitely have lavender but I like to be different 😉 I have this mask but different essence- cherry blossom & something esle....good to know it's good!

Re: Me & you both on having to shop our stash for floral! @mi...

I can't remember off the top of head which ones I found, but I think I've found 4 of this brand masks so far... And I'll likely check out to see if there are any others left later this week.  I've enjoyed the two I've tried so far!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Holy cow that’s a lot of snow @missjeanie

Scratch and sniff masking stickers would be awesome. Each package should come with a couple to share with your friends😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoeI think we might be onto a new marketing idea here!!  Someone should really pay us to do this stuff for them lol!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Camellia oil and matcha sound like a wonderful combination @missjeanie! 💕 Thanks so much for reviewing the mask; I picked up one of these but haven’t gotten to it yet and now I’m excited to give it a go (and smell it!)

Biore strips are the gold standard when it comes to nose strips! Love!! They’re just so good! 😊

Whoa!! 😲 That’s a lot of snow!! ❄️ You got a workout! Will the snow let up soon?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi @I hope you can figure out the scent better than I could, it’s so lovely and light. I know fragrance is a no-no for skincare but this was the last ingredient so I wasn’t worried, but man am I happy it’s in there! Really made the experience better for me!

It is a lot of snow... im hoping it’ll let up soon, but I’m sure there’s another storm or two left yet.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, if fragrance is the last ingredient, I’m less worried about it; and you’re spot on, the right fragrance can elevate the time we spend masking! 😍 Stay warm missjeanie! ❄️❄️❄️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie Wouldn't it be sooo much easier if you could smell things through the screen?! That would definitely come in handy! 😂 Glad to hear it turned out great!

Im with ya on the Biore strips! I've tried several different pore strips, but none have done as well as Biore! 👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 @I think Biore just has the edge on nose strips. I’ll likely keep checking out other brands.... but I’ll always go back them.

Scratch and Sniff Sephora would sell me soooo many more things!! Maybe were better off without? Lol

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My first mask for floral week & what a fitting mask it was..covered in gold roses! I knew it was gold foil (from reading up on it) but was not expecting the roses😍🌹 this was day #20 in the Incredible @itsfi calendar(I unwrapped them all last week to see what I can fit in when- I'm glad I did even though I loved the idea & the surprise- looking forward to TCS watermelon. thank you😘) As much as I hated to tear into this incredible packaging, I did. I left this on for about 30 min, it was still pretty wet but I needed to let the serum soak in. This mask stayed in place for me to bake some muffins but it did have a pretty thick piece under my nose.So big that, it would try & cover my upper lip. There was a smell to it, it went away quickly once on my face so I smelled the package. I don't know how chrysanthemums are supposed to smell but it did have a earthy/flowery scent. Not bad, I would take this over a fake flower scent. After removing, my face stayed tacky so I finished off the night & this ds of Korres Wild Rose sleeping facial. The Korres was ok, definitely have to be a fan of the rose scent. It took me forever to kill it & I didnt use it consistently enough to see about the brightening claim. It does hydrate your face pretty good though. Grades: sheet mask-A my face had a glow to it & felt smooth under the tackiness. Korres not sure if I graded this before- 🤔 A, I wouldn't purchase a full size but would use samples.
