Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Several people mentioned this one in their top 5 lists on the other thread, so hopefully it goes really well for you too, @ather!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I hope this one works for you @ather! I really like it😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl  I really liked it. I’m really loving the  masks you put on and go to bed. I’ve been so busy lately it’s so easy to use.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I'm excited for your reactions to this mask @ather. I know some maskers love it! Hope it is wonderful for your skin.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica I really liked it. I found it gave my skin a nice fresh look.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

There’s lots of love for this one @ather! Interested to hear how it worked for you. I have a DS of this one but need to get through some other open DS and FS sleeping masks first.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  I know what you mean. I was hesitant opening it because I have so many on the go right now but I thought I would take one for the team for the challenge! I really liked it. I felt it gave me a fresh feeling. Maybe even made my skin look brighter. It says you can use it every night. I’m not sure I would but maybe a few times a week for sure.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Such a lovely overnight mask @ather ! Let us know how it worked out for you!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  I really enjoyed it. I find my life has been so hectic that just applying a mask and going to bed is great for me right now!!  I applied a pretty thick layer and I woke up and felt very moisturizer and I felt like my skin was brighter. I will definitely add it to my purchase list and I am excited to try other things from this brand.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

And this evening (Sunday).  I'm so glad morning week is over.  I worried about morning masking.  And I don't mask in the AM.  lol... I kept telling myself I could get up early to do it once this week.... guess not. maybe next time. probably not then either.

Spoiler
I started off this evening with a Vitamin C & Collagen eye patch from Azure Cosmetics.  I bought a pack of these months ago and recalled enjoying them.  I pulled it out simply because it had Xanthun Gum in it though.  The patches are a regular sheet mask material and there was a heck of a lot of serum in that little pouch.  I put these on right before my drive back to town and left them on for about 35 minutes.  Wohooo for multitasking!  Can't wait for transportation week! lol. My under eye area was plenty moisturized and the serum had that silky kind of feel to it that I enjoy.  I still have a few of these left and my enjoyment of them makes me curious about the full size face masks from this line I've seen at TJMaxx.  I likely won't repurchase simply due to my need to try something new, but I would say they're worth a try for anyone contemplating. Oh and they are an extra large size.  My Sunglasses could't cover them all by a long shot!
Tonight I decided to use the Meg two step Jelly mask in lieu of DE Babyfacial for my Skincare Sunday Power Peel/Exfoliation. This particular mask was a gift from @eshoe who said I should use it when I wanted a more complicated mask.  I don't find these that complicated though.  I really like the giant swab followed by soothing mask combo.  No scent on either step here.  There was plenty of serum in the swab pouch, I could have done half my torso.  The tricky part of this two stepper for me was the sheet mask.  Upon opening the pouch there was some good jelly going on. I love a good jelly.  When I started to unfold the mask though, I noticed that some parts of the mask appeared to be more saturated than others.  No problem, back into the pouch you go for a massage.  The material on this mask is what I call the 'coffee filter' material.  It's almost got tiny holes in it.  As I was putting the mask on it started to drip.  Everywhere.  I'm sure I was quite the sight leaning over the bathroom sink in nothing but a towel trying to not drip a pool onto my floor.  How did my jelly get so drippy??  It was going everywhere, my mouth, down my neck and into my cleavage, and yet it was dripping into the sink too.  I ended up with a hand towel under my chin /blotting my mouth area for a good 5 minutes to try and contain the jelly that had liquified after my mini massage.  On top of having to hold a towel under my chin the mask just didn't stay down right.  No amount of snipping or smooshing was going to contain this sucker.  I could feel the actives that I had put on my skin earlier before I started the mask application process so I knew I needed to keep the mask on for a bit to avoid an over peel situation.  I managed about 15 minutes.  On the plus side, my skin does look like I've just done a good mini peel and doesn't feel as though there are any adverse affects.  I'm pretty sure that I've done this mask once before and liked it.  What happened?  Was my mask massage that bad that the whole thing fell apart?  I mean I know I'm not a massage therapist or anything, but common.... no need to turn from gorgeous jelly to a soppy mess!  I don't think I'll be seeking this one out after tonights shenanigans, though I do quite like this delivery method.  I'm pretty excited that I picked up a few packages of the Mural peel that are similar to this, but with a lovely scent, similar effect, and none of the high jinks

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That Two Step Jelly Mask sounds weird @missjeanie .

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was so weird @divaknits .  It was jelly, then I massaged it into the mask, turned to water, then the next day I notice it's jelly again!  On the plus side it did a nice job on my skin for sure!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

UPDATE::::  WHAT KIND OF WITCHCRAFT IS THIS??? @eshoe @ather @ShortErica @itsfi and anyone else....

I went to empty out the meg mask pouch in my washroom from last nights masking to put it in with my empties.  ITS ALL JELLY AGAIN!!

IMG_3262.jpgWhat in the Hocus Pocus is going on?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You stumped me @missjeanie! Humidity?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie I have no idea. I've never done a mask like that and have no experience.its-magic-5c6c0e.jpg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica I'm now contemplating if I'm a witch and just don't know it.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  Whaaaat!!!!! That’s insane.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I wish I could have taken a photo of how huge my eyes got @ather .  How???

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That’s some sort of something going on there!!! @missjeanie  I bet your reaction would have been hilarious 🤣

I'm really appreciating these two step masks @missjeanie

I'm really appreciating these two step masks @missjeanie

Re: I'm really appreciating these two step masks @missjeanie

Same here @lmaster , I like the idea of a detox/exfoliation etc with a soothing mask after.  The murad one is great!
