Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  haha! Just mentioned this in the post above 😉 I never picked up the white tea because of the alcohol

I currently have the Control line of these masks sitting in an online cart! Haha! I'll be interested to know what you think of them.... then I can decide if I reeeally want to buy them 😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes, make your purchasing decisions based on me trying 1 from the line @Shosh85. 🤣 @missjeanie since you sent it to me, have you tried the Lavender or others from the Control line?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Tonight I used Soo’AE Cactus Soothing Gel Mask. I really wanted something with gel and refreshing after a hot bath. This fit the bill. First of all, this mask is super cute. The eye holes were a little wonky. Lots of good ingredients to help sooth the skin, but I picked up on a light floral scent which I wish they would have left out. I would give this mask a B or a 4/5. It felt nice, but floral perfumes are just a no for me.

Early I used Bubble’t lemongrass and green tree bath bomb and lip balm. This is one of my favorite smelling lip balms. (With my Huckberry lip balm that @eshoe  gave to me as my favorite). 9402535D-5210-4CBD-8F26-9E92F6BA8E53.jpeg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@emaisgr8 I love the packaging of that one, but I am really trying to avoid fragrance.

I'm battling lip dermatitis (basically allergy to lip items and I'm still trying to find the culprit ingredient) and trying to keep my skincare and MU very simple while getting things under control.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Cyncynn  I hope you find out what ingredient is bothering you. That is no fun.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Too cute, @emaisgr8! I'm sorry the scent put a damper on this one, but it sounds pretty nice otherwise!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was! @quspork

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ack such a bummer about true fit on this one, @emaisgr8. I forgot about tree floral scent, too. Maybe I didn’t pick it up as much. I have another one I need to give it another go.

So very happy you like the huckleberry balm, loved visiting Montana and discovering it!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@emaisgr8  I picked up a few of these, but have yet to try it. I love that it's a gel mask but am disappointed to hear it has a floral scent 🙁 my nose isn't a big fan of floral either. I had no idea it was a printed mask though! It's super cute! Thanks for the picture! 😃

That huckleberry lip balm very quickly became a favorite of mine too! It is just so good! - and my 5 year old thinks so too 😉😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hopefully it won’t bother you @Shosh85 . It was very light, but even very light usually bothers me.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That is such a cute mask! @emaisgr8

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That looks like a cute mask, @emaisgr8

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Nice masking @emaisgr8! I think I have this one somewhere too. I'll have to remember about the floral scent so I'm not surprised. I'm not a fan of it usually but going in prepared will set good expectations. Thought, have there been any not fabulous lip balms on this thread? I feel like there are so many good ones everyone keeps posting!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica There was that one @heartsmyface recently posted about that tasted like soap 😂 🧼

@emaisgr8

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Haha oh yes @Shosh85! I should have made a note about that one. Maybe my mind only reads all the positivity and it overflowing with masks/lip balms/other things I want to buy.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I know. I love hearing all about the different ones that people like. My husband says I have a lip balm addiction 😀 @ShortErica

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Aww, that sheet mask is so cute @emaisgr8! Love the illustrations on it! Adorbs! 🥰

I would probably like the floral scent @emaisgr8 the Huck...

I would probably like the floral scent @emaisgr8 the Huckleberry balm is so good isn't it!

Re: I would probably like the floral scent @emaisgr8 the Huck...

It really is yummy @lmaster

Re: I would probably like the floral scent @emaisgr8 the Huck...

Awwww 🥰 I am so happy you all like it @emaisgr8 @lmaster @Shosh85!!! Montana is awesome. They had huckleberry salt water taffy and I am TOTALLY kicking myself for not picking that up, too!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

C is for Cucumber

IMG_8816.JPG

Last night's masking included a newbie (the sheet mask) and an oldie that I used a different way than I have in the past. The PTR rose mask worked out pretty well as a sleeping mask, so I decided to use the PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme Detoxifying Hydrator as a sleeping mask as well. Of the two (PTR rose and cucumber), I prefer the rose one, but using the cucumber mask as a sleeping mask isn't bad at all; I like it better as a sleeping mask than a traditional wash of mask. As for the sheet mask,

Spoiler
BrandPlan 36.5
Mask NameCucumber Plant Cell Daily Mask
Type of MaskSheet
Material (if sheet mask)Cotton, medium thickness
Essence / SerumClear, watery liquid
Extra Essence in pouch?No
Intended Purpose(s)Moisturizing and Revitalizing
Notable Ingredient(s)Cucumber, sodium hyaluronate, ginseng extract
Fit & AdherenceAdherence was good and fit was standard - about an inch too long at chin and needing adjustments to corners of eyes, nose and mouth
ScentGinseng-y, more like a ginseng tonic
Suggested Wear Time10-20 minutes
Notes I was surprised by the ginseng scent until I saw ginseng in the ingredients list. Smiley Wink  I was a little disappointed to see that cucumber extract was in the middle of the ingredients list and not closer to the top. Smiley Sad The drier parts of my face slurped up the essence from this mask pretty well; there was some excess essence remaining after I removed the mask, but mostly in the parts of my face that tend to be oilier. This is not a bad mask and there are some good ingredients in this one; could work well to rehydrate skin if used as a daily or filler mask.
Repurchase?Probably no. I'd use it if I had another one, I'd use it, but it's not necessarily one I'd repurchase, primarily because I have many other masks waiting to be used and I would cucumber to be higher up on the ingredients list in a cucumber mask.
