Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee

Ahhh thank you @Loretta55 for reminding me! I just remembered ‘chocolate pudding’ and it went into the ‘try when hungry’ mask wants😄 I have another mask by this brand but it’s a fizzing one I think. Wish I would have picked up this one!

H is for hydration

The combination of the weather changing and me being sicky means I need to be hyper diligent about keeping to my skincare routine and occasionally bumping up the hydration factor, so last night I reached for a mask I knew would be simply superb at hydrating my skin. Neogen Lab Sur.Medic+ Super Hyaluronic 100 Aqua Mask is a no brainer mask for me – it’s thin, adheres well and all I really need to do in terms of adjusting it to fit my face is to snip off 2 inches of material at the chin and jawline. My sense of smell is off at the moment so I couldn’t detect a scent. I ended up leaving the mask on for 40-45 minutes. After pressing in the excess serum, my skin felt soft and bouncy and looked hydrated. Earlier in the week, I noticed some dryness at the bridge of my nose but that area has looked better as the week has progressed – yay sheet masks! I’m a fan of Neogen products and I really like this sheet mask; the quality is good and the results are ones that make my dehydrated combo-turning-dry skin look happy and healthy.

I woke up in the very early hours of the morning today and had some difficulty falling back asleep so I decided to get up, mask a little, and try to get in some more sleep. I was pretty sure I was going to look like I hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep so I reached for the Mediheal W.H.P White Hydrating Black Mask, a black charcoal mask that is intended to be brightening and hydrating. I thought I picked up a nutty flavor but again, my sense of smell is off at the moment. Other than added fragrance which is the last ingredient listed, I didn’t see anything in the ingredients list that would suggest a nutty flavor, so we’ll just blame my cold for my olfactory senses not being up to snuff. 😉 Black charcoal masks like this mask are one of my favorite types as they usually fit and adhere well; this was no exception – the only adjustments I needed to make was to take off an inch at the chin and to snip the inner corners of the eyes to ensure the essence and sheet mask did not get in my eyes. I went back under the covers while wearing this mask and left it on for a good 45-50 minutes. My skin felt bouncy; I didn’t out of bed to look at my skin, but I did pat in the remaining essence and then I reached for my trusted Megrhythm gentle steam eye mask (not pictured in the photo above) and that helped me to relax a bit and get in another hour of sleep. Yaaay! When I did get out of bed, I noticed that my complexion had a fresh-faced awake look to it, especially near my under eye area and my skin looked and felt hydrated and moisturized. Overall, the Mediheal mask is pretty good, though I think it is much better at hydrating and moisturizing the skin than brightening.  Although my skin has a certain freshness and glow to it, it’s not as “intensive” as the sheet mask claims. Even so, I would definitely use the sheet mask again.

@itsfi hope you are feeling better. Being sick just isn't fun at all. That's great that you keep up with masking though - my skin can get bad when I'm sick. What are / how were the cherry flavored items?

Thank you @Anonymous. 😊 my skin can get dry, dull, red and breakout a bit when I’m sick. Using a sheet mask helps to keep my skin hydrated and the cooling effect is nice if I run a temperature as well. 

The cherry items are Frank Body lip balm and scrub. 🍒 It smells like cherry starbursts to me (or did when my sense of smell was working lol). They’re nice. The brand is known for its coffee body scrub and I think the lip products are a new line for them. 💗

It helps me take my mind off feeling under the weather @lmaster. 😃 I ended up with a fever for a couple of days but am feeling a little better today. Not quite 100% but on the mend.

Middle of the night masking, @itsfi - what a gentle way to care for yourself until this cold subsides 🙂 I am interested in trying more of the Sur:Medic masks so it was fun reading through your thoughts on this one.

@eshoe, if I find myself unable to sleep at night, I usually mask or try to get some work done, or both. It was too hard to get work done with my head pounding so I opted just to mask. lol.
