ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PinkEvergreen   I only know Coney and Brown and the Cats name is Jessica.  Not sure on the other ones.  :D. The characters  are a big deal let me see if I can find some photos from the line friends stores in Japan and Korea.  It’s all character merchandise!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I haven't been able to post much due to life/work schedule conflicts, but I've been doing my best to mask and using lots of masks gifted to me by @lmaster and @eshoe, thanks so much ladies!!!

aloemask.jpg

I used this lovely aloe soothing mask from mediheal that eshoe sent last night! It was super saturated (enough for at least 1, maybe 2 blanks?) and it fit like a glove. Dried down nice, not sticky. My skin was hydrated and refreshed this morning, I'd definitely use this one again. Thanks so much E 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You are welcome @CC3616 😊 I am so happy this one worked out for your skin. I’m very happy with the brand in general!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wonderful @CC3616! This was th mask that @eshoe also sent me that made me jump on the masking bandwagon and love Mediheal.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Mediheal does make some great masks! Glad you enjoyed this one, @CC3616!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@CC3616  Thanks for the review on this one! I'm hoping to try out the line soon! So happy you enjoyed it! 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

So many masks I haven't written about!

The Pore Green Tea Mud Sheet Mask

Spoiler
This is my first mud sheet mask.  The mask is kinda like a two part sheet mask that's had a layer of mud laid down on on side.  I laid the top piece down first then the bottom, both stuck on pretty well.  This mask was a gift from the lovely @mrsmouse and she warned that it would take up to an hours for the mask to dry.  I feel like I left it on for about that long, but lost track of time a bit.  I pulled both pieces off easily side to side and while there was only a little bit of mud left on my face, it washed off quite easily in the shower.  My skin looked deep clean after the mask.  The only scent I noticed was what I'd call a clay scent.  I'm curious to try more of these, but I'm not sure they're easier than a regular clay mask.

A triple mask day over the weekend for the Meetup!

Spoiler
Day started off with the Pacifica Sea Algae Anti-Pollution Gel Mask.  I actually don't mind the scent on this one.  It's a bit tropical, but not a standard tropical, theres something a little different to it.  I like it.  I put a thicker layer on and left it on for about an hour (yet again, I lost track of time).  It kinda peeled off when I tried it this way, even though it's meant to be a wash off.  I'm sure that if I'd only left it on for the prescribed time, it would wipe off with a washcloth since it did after the hour.  I'm not sure how defended my skin was, but it felt nice.

I used the Sand & Sky Exfoliating Treatment before my Hello Kitty.  I really like this mask.  I massaged it on in about a minute then left it sit for about 10 minutes before massaging it off in the shower.  I love the scrubbies, I'm a big fan of scrubbies in my masks.  Skin looked brighter, cleaner, and felt softer.

The Hello Kitty Softer than Cookies was as expected.  It's a great mask.  I'm not always a fan of coconut oil in my skincare, I'm acne prone and while it might be moisturizing, the comedogenic factor is a bit too much for me.  I don't mind a little like this from time to time though.  Not much of a scent on this one for me.  It was nice to chill out for a half hour with it.  I still have a couple of these left and I'll gladly use them. Easy mask to just pop on and not need to worry about how it'll turn out.

The Caolion Blackhead Steam Pore Pack & PTR Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Gel for the start of B week.

Spoiler
I first tried this steam mask in sample format and was excited to find a full size at Winners.  It's a charcoal coloured mud like mask with a few very gentle scrubbies scattered throughout (not super scrubby at all).  I massaged it on and could feel the 'heat/steam' pretty much right away.  No scent to really note.  It never dried right down so there was no tight feeling.  It washed away quite easily in the shower, no washcloth needed.  I forgot how much I liked this mask.  Must use it more.  My skin was soft, didn't feel tight at all.  The warming sensation would be more appreciated during the 40 below winters, but it was still nice as a part of my boost back into masking this week after slacking during A week.
The PTR Rose Mask was used as a sleeping mask and I like it just fine.  Its not the most mositurizing, but it still does the job during the warmer months.  It absorbs quick enough, leaves no residue and doesn't leave anything on my pillows.  I'll keep using this one and one of my rotating sleeping masks.  Love sleeping masks.  Even when I'm not masking regularly I'm sleep masking.

My skin was feeling pretty dry so I opted for the L'arvone Shea Butter Moisturizing mask, a gift from @eshoe !

Spoiler
This mask is what I'd call a good filler mask.  There was a scent to it when I opened the packet, it was quite lovely, but I couldn't place it for the life of me.  the mask fit was pretty average, and it stayed moist for a good 25 minutes.  The upper lip / nose area was starting to dry out so I took it off.  Skin was looking refreshed, and did feel moisturized, though an hour later, I knew I still needed to slather on some moisturizer.  Would I use this one again? Yes.  Would I seek it out?  No.
Good filler mask if you have it though.

And tonights B mask!  The Brightening Jelly Pack from Yadah!  A lovely gift from the even more lovely @mrsmouse

Spoiler
This mask was exactly as expected.  Same fit as the other jelly masks, same mask fabric, same gorgeous jelly consistency.  A slight citrus scent.  I'm a fan.  I had it on for about 40 minutes and my skin looked brighter and felt softer after use.  I just knew I'd love this one.  I really think all the Yadah masks were great, but the Jelly ones stand out to me.  I'm super thankful to mrsmouse for sending this my way!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow that is some serious masking @missjeanie, you’re on a roll! I know you’ve got a stockpile, use ‘em up😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I'm going on a use em up spree starting now @eshoe !  I find when I really cut back on my masks my skin has been letting me know.  Time to step it up again!  I actually talked myself out of swinging by Winners tonight lol!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yay @missjeanie! I whittled my drawer down quite a bit recently thank goodness. It feels so good😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Now I need to try my mud ones. Thanks for sharing all these reviews @missjeanie

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The mud one was super fun to try out since I haven't done one.  I think for me they may end up kind of like rubber masks... fun for something different. @ShortErica now you're making me want to do a rubber mask again!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

We need more faces @missjeanie! Cause we know we don't need more masks 😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow- that is quite the masking catch-up post, @missjeanie! You've got so many good ones in there!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Right @quspork ... I need to keep up a bit better.  I find that when I get so many built up, I don't want to do anything with them.  When I only have one or two it's so much easier to manage!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh my goodness this is exactly why it's a bad thing to have too many choices, @missjeanie. Masking analysis paralysis 😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes @eshoe !!!
