ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The snail had me curious right from the start @faeriegirl ! I do know my skin loves it, so I get excited to see it too!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It does some good stuff for the skin @faeriegirl, that I can’t deny. The plumping is always evident after one of these masks.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Right @faeriegirl ! At this point I don’t think there’s much I wouldn’t try at least once.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My snail twin @eshoe 😍 we both started using it pretty close together haha!! Sounds really nice

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Nice @lmaster! What I want to know is how is this mucin harvested. I’ll try not to think about it too much, but I am definitely curious.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe, if you're curious (and are in the mood to think about it), sokoglam dot com has a blog about it. There are a lot of blogs on it, but the one from sokoglam can be found at theklot dot co/beauty-products-with-snail-mucin/

@lmaster

Alllll shall be revealed 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

‘Slow and slimy wins the face’ @PinkEvergreen 😳? I want to know how they determined to concoct the secret mist. I have even more questions and I don’t know if I’m ready to hear answers🤣

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PinkEvergreen  That was a great little clip! I'm glad to hear they don't have to die! 😃🐌

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I know @eshoe 🤦🐌

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That Biossance mask is definitely on my list @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I think you'd like it, @faeriegirl. The clean ingredients are what makes me happiest about this one!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Loving how that Bioessence mask sounds, @eshoe!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It's becoming a fave @quspork! I'm glad I decided to try it, it's a great rose mask for me. Always need at least one on hand;)

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe with the survey - we just all pick our own mask(s) to do over the weekend and fill it out correct? And should/did you post about the survey in the gratis thread for those who don't always visit our neck of the woods? Thanks for putting this together!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes, @ShortErica ideally everyone would have nothing to do all weekend except mask 😄 I'm just leaving it up to the group - I'm going to try all of them (2 down, 4 to go) and then fill out the survey for each one separately. I think there are enough of us here that each mask will be reviewed more than once. Hope that works for everyone!

I also posted a link on the gratis thread with the info about the survey, thanks for the suggestion.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sounds wonderful @eshoe!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe I think you might have received this from @missjeanie and not me since I got mine from her. But I'll take credit. 😉

I found it interesting about the material comparison. I know there is a difference but wearing them I didn't notice a personal preference compared to other masks where I definitely like one better than the other. I guess it's a good thing they all fit nicely and have a comfy wear.

Glad you enjoyed the Yadah. And let that snail mucin love your skin! 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hmmm well thank you both then, @ShortErica @missjeanie

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Week 25 - June 17 - 23 - Y - Yadah Week

Yadah Rose for Friday morning. My contacts were bugging me last night so I bargained with myself that I had to wake up and do the rose. I have to make sure I have nothing to interfere with the Mini PTR Mask Mashup Meetup. What's our decision guys?

20190621_075854.jpg20190621_075946.jpg

Like others have mentioned, there is a slight pink hue to the mask and it smells of rose. It wasn't potent to me but you could smell it. It did not linger while wearing the mask.

My face:

Spoiler
20190621_081030.jpg

Fit was good and I was able to smoosh it easily around the mouth. This has got to be the exact same as the All Day Collagen in terms of material and fit which is a thumbs up in my book.

Because it was the morning I didn't have quite as much time. I wore this for barely 30 minutes. Unlike the others, the nose and philtrum were not completely dry. This may be because of the time or it may be because serum seemed to slightly drip from the mask when I removed it from the package. Fast forward, unlike @missjeanie my package didn't have much extra serum so I think most of it had to be on the mask. I'm kinda disappointed I wasn't able to wear it for longer.

Anyway, after removing my skin was noticeably brighter. It seemed almost dewy which isn't my personal favorite but it looked very nice. I went with it and just applied mascara and no other makeup. My chin area didn't look as red as it does sometimes which was pleasant. But my sleep lines by my nose and my forehead wrinkles weren't as plumped as when I used the collagen masks.

I got no/at most a slight tack from the mask. With the minimal extra serum, I applied it to my neck and back of my hands. I also tried to fold the mask in half and lay it on my neck while brushing my teeth. Sometimes you just can't multi-task. It didn't stay on very well. I guess I'm a vigorous brusher.

A- for this one as well mostly for scent. It does certainly brighten and was an easy mask to wear. I wouldn't hunt the rose down but I'll happily use the ones I have.

Ratings Update:

For reference and succinctness (bold are used so far): All Day Aloe (ADA), All Day Collagen (ADC), All Day Rose (ADR), Collagen (C), Pore Care (PC)

Serum level: ADR > ADC = C = PC (I wore the ADR for only 30 minutes, the others 30-35, but this felt the most serum packed out of the package and when it was removed after wearing it)

Material: ADC = ADR = C = PC (eh, between these materials I have no favorite)

Fit: PC > ADC = ADR > C

Scent: PC > ADC = C > ADR (it's a me thing not a you ADR, others really love the rose scent)

Wear time: ADC = ADR =C = PC (ADR maybe you would have been superior but I just didn't have time this morning!)

Tackiness: ADC = ADR = PC < C (the tackiness of C was only from the extra serum)

Results: ADC > C = PC = ADR (for me ADC had the best results because overnight my sleep lines weren't as prominent; all others had good but different results so I'm saying they are equal)

Extra serum in package: ADC > PC > ADR = C

Overall: TBD

Remaining batting order:

Saturday - All Day Aloe

Sunday - Nose Strip

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I was wrong - again! Look how the collagen and rose masks compare. Is it possible they were stretched out differently during wear and drying?
