Love your gratis review @byme4u - it's great when the products end up being amazing. "As a permanent part of my regimen" says it all. Another to put on my to-try list.
Both these masks sound wonderful @byme4u; will have to add these to the list, the ever growing list. 😊
@byme4u great review - I totally agree about the IGK mask! I tried it out last week from the gratis as well and I was so impressed how soft it made my hair! I do dry shampoo a lot and this deff brought the ends of my hair back to life those days!
You’ve peaked my curiosity with the IGK hair mask @byme4u !
I didn’t realize it was finally “Y” today, otherwise I would have been more selective. But I chose a TonyMoly mask (some Y’s in there) and my overall feeling about this mask was truly “yeeouch!” Here’s the mask I tried for the first time tonight:
I fully expected to like this mask. I know it’s a common one that a lot of people enjoy, and I do definitely appreciate aloe. However, I found it so abrasive and rough! I’m not sure if I just got a dud, but it’s the first mask I’ve ever had to take off prematurely due to it physically irritating my skin. The aloe serum was fine. It was the fibrous material of the mask that was pricking my skin. Plus, the mask didn’t want to settle down and adhere to my skin properly. (That was probably a good thing.) I gave up after about 7-8 minutes of enduring the feeling of prickly sawdust on my face and threw it in the garbage.
So, more experienced maskers out there: Is this mask less refined than others, or was this simply a dud?
Sorry this wasn’t a good experience @PinkEvergreen .
@PinkEvergreen this entire line fits off for me, you are not alone. I had a calendula one that gave my skin some much needed soothing, but the essence was the redeeming part of it. There are sooooo many masks that cost less and perform much better.
ETA: I update the schedule on Sundays, that's all - I will have to change the wording. I do that so it's correct first thing Monday AM, but technically it was still 'X' week 🙂
@eshoe That was my thought. It seems sub-par for the price, especially when compared to My Beauty Diary masks which I love much more and cost about the same. Thanks for your input! 🙂
Sorry to hear this wasn't a good one for you, @PinkEvergreen. I haven't really loved the wear of too many from this series.
@PinkEvergreen well thats a bummer. I've tried a few from Tony Moly, I believe this line was the first sheet mask I've tried, but didn't have the same experience as you. I want to hope it was a dud of a mask that did that to you. They are a decent have in your stash and use from time to time/get on sale, but as you use more, there are definitely softer and nicer masks out there.
Sorry this one was a dud @PinkEvergreen ☹️
@PinkEvergreen I don't know that I've done a TonyMoly mask but that material does not sound nice at all. I'm sorry you had to take it off early and it wasn't a good one. Hopefully other maskers will have some insight for you.
Ouch! ☹️ Sorry to hear about the roughness on this one @PinkEvergreen! I’ve tried a few masks from this line and they’re hit or miss. I haven’t had that sawdust feeling with these masks but they are not as soft as other masks I’ve used. Hope your skin is doing better.
@itsfi @missjeanie Fortunately, my skin didn’t suffer any adverse effects afterward. It usually does, but I decided to “rescue” it with this squalene mask from My Beauty Diary soon after:
I wanted to see if I could minimize the outward signs of irritation that I knew were on the way — and that did the trick! Instant “ahhhhh” of relief, and this morning I have zero irritation.
The mask was super-soft and fit perfectly, the serum was just the right consistency (not too watery, not too thick), and the fragrance was very light. It gets an A+ from me.
Yay for My Beauty Diary! I’ve had great results with this series of masks.
Glad it rescued your skin @PinkEvergreen !
@PinkEvergreen so awesome this worked for you!!!
This might be the first squalane sheet mask I've seen, @PinkEvergreen and it sounds lovely! Glad it soothed your skin:)
@eshoe Oh really? I thought it would be a common thing. I’m glad I could show something possibly unseen as of yet! 😂
@PinkEvergreen @missjeanie the MBD masks are really good; it’s easy to see why it has the following it does! 😃 Happy to hear this did the trick for you PinkEvergreen! 👌🏼 It’s always a bit nerve wracking to wait to see if your skin will have a bad reaction to something. 😬
I’m glad this one worked so much better for you @PinkEvergreen!
