Never thought about sulfur skincare and jewelry. Tarnish is a reaction of sulfur in the air with silver and saturn mask is sulfur, so it makes sense... Cleaned lots of tarnish from fancy horse show tack. There are silver polish creams and sprays we always used that cleaned it right up with a soft toothbrush, you can also make a baking soda and water paste and do the same. Any jeweler should be able to clean the tarnish as well if you aren't comfortable doing it. Sorry that it happened @plm95 but hopefully it'll be an easy fix!
I cleaned it up today with a silver polish cream, but I'll still need to take it in for a professional cleaning. It looks better, but not 100%. Thank you all for your help โค๏ธ
Oh no @plm95!!! Sorry to hear that. ๐ Like others have mentioned I would ask a jeweler about it.
@plm95 Oh man! So sorry!! I hope something can be done to fix it!
I'll have to remember to remove my jewelry while masking!!
Oh no! I hope you're able to get it repaired, @plm95! That's such a shame!
Oh no!๐ฎ๐ข @plm95 I would ask a jeweler if theres anything you can do. Hope it works out in the end love my jewelry as much as my makeup.
Did any of you guys get the email from Facetory asking for help naming their new sub? Sounds like in March they are launching an additional box that will contain sheet masks and full sized skincare. I will be interested in seeing spoilers and the price for sure!
Yep I was thinking of ideas ๐ก @Kim888, Iโm excited to see what they will come up with, I would be interested in an additional sub for sheet masks!
F is for Fresh. Not part of the challenge, but I also finally tried the last of the 3 Sephora rubber masks I bought ๐
Tony Moly Fresh To Go Cucumber Sheet Mask
Unfortunately, this is one of those masks I bought before I got into the habit of checking ingredients, and this has alcohol as the 4th ingredient. I already took a picture of it, so I felt I couldn't back out now. Haha!
This one was extremely thin cotton, so thin it was practically see-through. It was soaking with serum that was slightly slimy and gel-like and had a refreshing, fresh cucumber scent. It had an almost perfect fit โ just the mouth and eye holes were a little too small. It had a nice cool feeling and was very comfortable while it was on. I removed it after about 45 minutes and my face felt so refreshed and rejuvenated. There was only a little serum left on my face and it wasn't sticky or tacky at all. It didn't take long for the serum to absorb, and when it did, my face felt very soft and smooth. My skin didn't feel as dry as I thought it would, being that the alcohol was so high up on the list, but it also didn't feel comfortably moisturized. Probably about two hours later I needed to apply some moisturizer.
I feel like if this didn't have alcohol in it, and as much as it did, it would be the perfect mask (curse you, alcohol!๐ ) I'd give this a B grade, because despite the alcohol, it still gave some pretty good results. ๐
ETA: Fresh To Go ingredients:
Sephora Collection Rubber Mask โ Kiwi
This starts out as a light green powder you are supposed to add water to. It also smells sooo good! Like juicy kiwi! ๐ฅ I have learned from the last two, that using a little less water than it tells you to use works a lot better. This time I measured out 2 Tbsp and that seemed to be a good amount. I also used a different mixing utensil this time โ the one it comes with is just so short, it makes it hard to handle and hold onto, and makes spreading it a little difficult. So this time I used my Erno Laszlo mixing stick, which looks basically like an oversized plastic popsicle stick โ(kind of similar to the size they use in doctor offices to hold down your tongue) Using the Erno Laszlo mixing stick made it so much easier to mix and spread on my face. After I was done spreading it on my face, I was able to use up just about all the material. It didn't take long for it to set up, probably about 7 minutes. This time I was able to peel it off in two big pieces. After removing it, there was still some crustiness left behind, where the edges of the mask were โ those areas came up easy with a facial towelette. My face was noticeably brighter and extremely soft and smooth. Even some blemishes I had seemed to lighten up a bit. This mask, just like the others, also left my skin feeling very tight and dry, maybe even more so than the others, and I felt like I needed to apply moisturizer right away.
I'd probably rate this one as a B-/C+, because it did provide some good results and it did smell fantastic, but all the mess, effort and dryness, didn't seem worth it and especially not good enough that I'd want to repurchase.
Picture with the Kiwi Rubber Mask๐
@lmaster That is great advice! Although, oil and moisturizer is actually part of my usual routine, and not just after masks with alcohol!! My skin is so dry, I'm constantly using an oil/moisturizer combo! ๐
I'm going to see if it helps me @Shosh85 I'm all about it
That is so nice! Thank you, @byme4u!! I hate seeing alcohol in these, but I don't think it's because of the cucumber.... there are others in the same line, with different fruit that have alcohol in them as well! I have also used plenty of cucumber masks that didn't contain alcohol. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I don't know why they find it necessary to sneak it in there! ๐ข
Hahahaha bite me! Your shirt totally made me lol this morning! The scent of the kiwi sounds so yummy. ๐ Canada didn't get that one for some reason. Thanks for your thoughts @Shosh85
@veronika23 Haha! I bought two sweaters for Ugly Sweater Christmas parties I attended! This one is a gingerbread man one and the other I have is the grinch โ they have both been turned into pajamas/masking clothes ๐๐
I wonder why Canada doesn't sell this one?๐ค I looked at the ingredients of each one, and it looks like the only ingredient the Kiwi one has that the others don't is, polymethyl methacrylate..... ๐ค
@veronika23 @eshoe I work in a dental office and was aware that it was used in artificial teeth and dental prosthetics, and have been told it's used in some nail care..... but that's about all I knew....
Thank you so much for the info @Shosh85...wow. interesting info!
