This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!

I am also a huge Josie fan @Cissy63. I even got to ask her a question when she had a chat her on BIC. My husband has developed an allergy to scents so the only scents that I can wear are from Josie. Most of Josie’s products really work for me.

@Loretta55  I'm glad you are feeling better. That looks like a great mask. I've not done as much masking as I would like because I never have time in the morning these days. A 5-minute mask may be doable, though! 🙂

From the first week of the year, for Winter Skin Relief SOS:

For some extra TLC this cold season, I have been *trying* to incorporate my DERMAFLASH DERMAPORE Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser Icy Pink #more frequently. But before that, I started off with the Pixi Skin Treats Glow O2 Oxygen Mask. As opposed to bubbling sheet masks, wash-off ones like this are one of my favorite ways to give my skin a little extra cleansing while masking. It was during a Sephora Masterclass with Kate Somerville that she mentioned oxygen is an antibiotic. It suddenly became clear to me why the topical use of a bubbling mask could be so beneficial. So when my skin is feeling just ‘yucky,’ I reach for this near scentless gel that gently foams.

Next up was the detoskin Green Tea-Time Mask. There are a few varieties of this line, including an Oatmeal Cleanse which I found rather mediocre (somewhat rigid sheet, not-so-great fit, etc.) and a Lily Floris Mask that is better but falls into filler territory. Suffice it to say my expectations were pretty minimal; as long as it didn’t cause irritation, I would be happy.

Upon opening, I was delighted to find my favorite blend of mask characteristics. Drenched in a creamy white serum, the pillowy-soft sheet was on the thinner side. Masks like this are ones I immediately commit to memory; both the Heimish pH 5.5 and Cica Live sheets are similar material. The scent is soothing, maybe more green tea parfum than something I would sip, but wonderfully pleasant. These masks tend to last at least 20 minutes, and they tend to linger on my skin into the 45 minute range because they are just so cozy, I do not want to remove them! I left it on around 30 minutes and removed, letting everything settle and soak in. This did not leave much tack, although my daughter asked why my face was ‘so slimy’ shortly after, so maybe I am just used to it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I used the Dermaflash after applying my serum, which was the Perricone MD Plasma this night. After using this for a few months, mainly as an infuser, I cannot commit to saying whether or not it has made a huge difference. My skin is not any worse, and it is the dead of winter, so maybe? I tried using it as an extractor, and maybe it was too close to post Bioré strip time, but I did not see any residual on the devise. Maybe it is just user error! I will keep trying, though.

***eta there is a noticeable ‘zapping’ sensation during the serum infusion. It is not painful, but I definitely feel little ‘sparks.’ I don’t mind it at all, it makes me suspect that it might in fact be doing its job😁

 

The shape of it surprised me. Somehow I imagined this tool to be like a skincare shop-vac 🤣

Finally, the SEPHORA COLLECTION #LIPSTORIES Lip Balm in Time to Party is a light salmon sparkly balm that feels nourishing and lasts well throughout my masking session. It is pleasant enough that I plan to pick up another shade or two during the next SC sale to have around the house.

@eshoe  Your mask sounds heavenly.  And I appreciate your review of the DermaFlash.  I am on the fence about it but reading @lmaster  comments, makes me think maybe I will consider it more. Especially when the spring sale comes around.
