This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!

Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights 💮

It’s been a while since I’ve done any masks with all holiday hullabaloo, lol. I felt like I needed some winter TLC, according to the challenge theme! 

I did the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior mask for the first time on Saturday, and then on Sunday, felt like I could use some more hydration, so I used the fresh Rose Face Mask 3.3 oz/ 100 mL and a Hello Kitty Teatime mask, along with the Grande Cosmetics GrandePOUT Plumping Lip Mask .

As for the Kate Somerville, this was a cooling and super-silky texture pink gel. It did not dry completely, and when I rinsed it off, I felt like my skin was soothed and hydrated. 

The Fresh is a long time favorite when I need something soothing, hydrating, without actives. It has such a delicate, natural rose scent, which I love. The HK mask had a light scent, was a plush feeling mask, with lots of liquid. Not the greatest fit, you can see my kitty checking out the Hello Kitty, haha! 

I barely ever use lip masks, but this Grande lip mask was a sugar scrub formula and it my lips felt smooth and hydrated after using it. It didn’t taste bad, so it didn’t bother me to leave it on for a while.

Your masking choices sound extra hydrating, @sister13! Many of the TCS masks tend not to have have the best fits, but make up for it in cuteness. 

Did the Grande lip scrub have a sweet, fruity scent to it? I sampled one awhile ago and it had the best scent, but I found it odd to have a plumping scrub.

I remember it being sweet and I liked it! I see what you mean about a plumping scrub but maybe it plumps but hydrating, I did feel it was hydrating! @eshoe

@sister13  Sounds like some great masking! The Hello Kitty mask is super cute - sorta makes up for the bad fit! Love the picture - your cat looks slightly annoyed and maybe a little confused 😂

That's so cute that your kitty is keeping an eye on Hello Kitty! 😁 I like that Tea Time mask - has some good ingredients and that print is adorable. Is the Grande lip scrub one you'd repurchase after you make your way through it? I'm always on the hunt for a good lip scrub.

Thanks! I walked over to pet her on the back of the couch, and she climbed up, lol. I think I would buy this again. It felt nice and hydrating, I’m not sure about any actual plumping, but it did feel nice and I think my lipstick went on more smoothly (I don’t normally do lip scrubs/masks very often, too lazy, lol). @itsfi

A for anticipation & alpha hydroxy acids

I have been waiting a long time for this Dior Capture Dreamskin 1-Minute Mask 2.5 oz / 75 mL to come back in stock. Turns out that its unavailability was due to it undergoing a reformulation and packaging redesign. Edited to add: The reformulation includes, among other things, the removal of BHA (the original contained both AHAs and BHAs).

The AHA-based, pale pink-hued gel cream feels slightly cooling as I gently apply and massage it into my skin and changes from pink to a thin white cream. The initial scent I pick up reminds me of Pond's Cold Cream but as the product is massaged onto the skin, the soft, fresh, beautiful rose notes are apparent. The rose scent isn't overpowering but it is not at all faint.  There's no burning, tingling or stinging, despite the presence of alpha hydroxy acids; this I imagine is owing to the humectants, like glycerin and jojoba oil, in the mask. A minute is all that is needed before rinsing off the mask with lukewarm water.  Skin feels softer, smoother, slightly hydrated and noticeably brighter! This reformulation met my expectations and am happy I was able to pick it up. A little goes a long way so it'll be a while before I'm in need of another tube, but I will repurchase when I run out.

@itsfi  This sounds beautiful.  And the scent of roses is up my alley!  Good to know that a little goes a long way considering the price.  And your results were so good after just a short time!

@eshoe, it's a beautiful mask; I've gotten the same results from the original and this new reformulated version. This new one was recently launched so you'll just want to make sure that you're reading about the new one. 🙂
