Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’—

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Yeah, grapefruit extract might stop me from trying this one. The rest of the ingredients list looks mostly okay, though. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Also: the sleeve design reminded me of James and the Giant Peach too. ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@WinglessOne  Omg your so right!! Totally reminds me of that book too!!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

How am I not the only one who has watched that movie, @WinglessOne? Guess I need to see if itโ€™s on Netflix or something similar this weekend.

The fit was a little wonky, but worth the scent, I guess as long as itโ€™s enjoyable itโ€™s worth the minor annoyances.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Sounds like a great mask! The packaging/artwork is super cute - James and the Giant Peach was the first thing to come to mind too, @lmaster! ๐Ÿ˜‰

You got me curious about Yulmoo.... It looks like it's a type of rice? Is that what you found out too?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Iโ€™m not sure, @Shosh85 - I found it spelled differently than on the package, and it showed up as a type of summer radish?9B620EBD-8878-4128-8327-4972F98BB9F7.jpeg

I tempted to try it only because this one has a true pear scent, and now I want to know what yulmoo is like!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Oh, yup, I found it now. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Looks like it's either Yulmoo or Yeolmu.
ETA: Apparently there's also a Yulmu Tea, but it seems it's something different entirely, made from Job's Tears

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Oh no I want to try the tea, thank you @Shosh85 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

The packaging reminds me of James and the giant peach @eshoe

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@lmaster @Shosh85 @eshoe, James and the Giant Peach brings a smile to my face. ๐Ÿ™‚ It also reminds me of a cupcake shop that played off the name of that film.

The illustration on the packaging looks like an apple pear / Asian pear, which is  refreshingly delicious! The juice of the fruit, or making a puree of it, is commonly found in marinades for Korean barbeque.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi That sounds like a fun Cupcake shop! In what way did they play off the movie title?

I was looking at the illustration and thinking to myself, but where's the pear? haha, your right, it looks more like an Asian pear. ๐Ÿ‘ I LOVE Korean BBQ! I didn't know Asian pear juice was commonly used in marinades for it, but then again I haven't attempted to make it yet. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85, the shop was called James and the Giant Cupcake! ๐Ÿง I have a vague recollection that their branding was similar to a part from the film but instead of a peach it was a cupcake. At least thatโ€™s what I somewhat remember. In full disclosure, I was paying more attention to the cupcakes. Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Korean BBQ is so yummy! ๐Ÿ˜‹ I didnโ€™t know about Asian pear being part of the marinade recipe either until a friend made it for us from a family recipe and I was like โ€œwhat is this goodness?!!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I think anything reminiscent of a cupcake shop would be a good thing, @itsfi ๐Ÿง

So thatโ€™s the secret to good Korean bbq? Iโ€™ve made it a couple of times but had no idea about the purรฉe, thank you for the tip! I will have to see if I can find that online,  because it seems I canโ€™t stop cooking/baking these days๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I think there are a lot of secrets @eshoe, including that it does take a looooong time to marinate. That was just one of the ones I learned. No success in getting the family recipe. I get it. But it was sure tasty! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Ha, I know the feeling @itsfi. My sister bakes chocolate cookies that are perfectly crispy on the outside and just a little gooey in the middle. She swears a little extra flour is her secret, but it never works for me. I secretly think sheโ€™s holding back, maybe some day I will learn the truth ๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I had to look that up, @lmaster - you are absolutely right๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe oh yes James and the giant peach is a classic for school kids

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Wait a second.... have you and your daughter never seen James and the Giant Peach?! I actually read the book before I saw the movie - it's such a cute story! @lmaster

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

No, but now I want to watch it, @Shosh85! Also sounds like it might be good summer reading for her. I will check it out ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  I really love Roald Dahl books! โค๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I did not know he was the author, @Shosh85. I loved the Fantastic Mr. Fox!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Sensory experiences are so important, though, @eshoe. Overly fragrant, ill fit, etc can totally ruin a mask.
