Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread and giving us a place to share our love for masks💗 Below is the 2020 schedule. Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. 

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface
Warm water helps remove clay masks quicker than cold	cianni
Lay sheet masks flat prior to use so the serum is more evenly distributed	eshoe

This can fall in the category of gross, however after @Shosh85 educated me more on swiftlet nest, the way this ingredient is collected is more a sad situation.

I did not seek this mask out, it came in a ten pack from Amazon. Basically the nest of a swiftlet is made entirely of their saliva. I'm not going to get all into the harvesting of this ingredient, you can Google it if you want to know more, but it's not very humane imo I will not ever seek this ingredient out, but if I happen upon a mask that includes it, I'll use it. Now this is a thin white sheet, fit is a little long at the chin, but otherwise adheres excellent. I didn't detect any scent, nothing at all. There was a bit of extra serum in the package. After removing at the 20 minute mark, I did notice tackiness, not sticky uncomfortable, but tacky until I applied moisturizer. My skin did feel hydrated and looked a bit brighter. Not a fan of this one, the benefits definitely are not worth the struggles for these poor birds!

Definitely if I had it without seeking out, then I'd probably use it to (although I am so bad about looking at ingredients 😩). You could also send back to amazon or manufacturer with a note that you'd appreciate these not being included in packs or being made in the future? @lmaster

@lmaster  Yes, I agree that I would definitely avoid seeking out products with this ingredient too. Sounds like the results weren't that great as well.

@PrettyPaint definitely makes me sad, I have barn swallow nests all over in my barn, and every year, so many babies are born, I can't tell you how many birds I've helped fly, they are the sweetest ever, I couldn't imagine why someone thought it was a good idea to use this as an ingredient

@lmaster It's so sad to think about. I love birds too - I think it's so cool that you help them fly! This is reminding me of some of the children's books in the Dr. Seuss series (I think they are actually by Eastman). I think they are called "The Best Nest" and "Are You My Mother" and it's making me extra sad to think about.

@PrettyPaint I actually read that book to my kids and the time,, are you my mother 😊 but yes it's heart breaking all the work they put into those nests!! Surely there is a different ingredient that could be used!!

@lmaster, I remember the first time I used this one. 🥺 It was my last time using any masks with swiftlets in it. I did additional research on the ingredient while I had the mask on. 😔

@lmaster  I would say it's definitely both gross and sad. This is the one I tried too and I got it in a variety pack as well. I felt the same about the mask, decent results but just not worth it.

I'm honestly shocked that this isn't considered animal cruelty @Shosh85

@lmaster  There's controversy over that and I think most people do consider it animal cruelty. Technically, if they're only taking the nest, they're not doing any actual harm to the bird. I feel like it's pretty cruel to continually take nests that the birds take 35 days to build each time. It IS definitely animal cruelty when they knock down the nests with babies in them. 🤬

@lmaster that does seem like it has a bit of ick factor - I had never heard of that ingredient either although these things tend to be more common than I ever realize

Can't do H week without honey 🍯

Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask🍯

This is a super thin and transparent cotton sheet mask that was drenched with plenty of serum and had a yummy sweet honey scent. The fit was kinda wonky on this one - it was too wide, too long at the chin, the eye holes were a bit too big, and the strip between the mouth and nose was way too skinny. The mask was so thin that it was easy to scrunch and smoosh the mask into place. Despite the fit, it adhered very well and was comfortable to wear the 30 minutes I had it on. When I removed it my face felt refreshed, looked slightly brighter and was comfortably hydrated. There was some light tackiness that stuck around for about 15 minutes, and my skin was left feeling soft and smooth.

I loved this one! The results and the scent were both so great, and I love that honey extract and propolis extract are 4th and 5th in the ingredients! 🍯 Not the best fit, but the thin material made it easy to adjust. I will definitely repurchase this one. 👍
