Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I used to see them a lot at TJ Maxx, @itsfi @and always passed them up. I finally tried it when gifted a pair and 🤦🏻‍♀️ wish I would have tried them earlier. Another lesson learned-don’t knock it ‘til you try it for yourself!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe wow sounds like the korres lip mask is amazing,,, what is your most favorite lip mask??

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Probably the (old) Bite @lmaster because it stays put the longest. Do you categorize them in your mind? It's hard to pick a single favorite, because I like them for different traits...the Laneige might be a tie or close second for overnight. The Korres is a before bed mask, I probably use 4-5 lip products similar to it every night. Actually I don't think my lips are ever without balm or gloss!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe same! I always have something on my lips,,, I'm still leaning towards bite as my favorite

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah that is why I’m glad I picked up one more of the masks before they sold out (Smashed). I haven’t opened it yet, I wonder what their shelf life is🤔 I keep it in my fridge for now. Proud to say I’m almost 1/2 way through a DS from last year! I’ve only finished one, Champagne. Have a back up that is unopened until I get through at least one DS.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

clay masks that don't totally dry down really are so great @eshoe ! sorry the program deleted your review!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I decided to add a photo of the ingredients, @Kim888 - and instead it took the place of my text 😕

I just realized I have that Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Clay Mask 2.54 oz/ 75 mL, I think you have that and like it - I need to try it again! I don't think that one dried down completely, either.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe it doesn't! The VOLITION BEAUTY - Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask is kind of like that as well !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yes I had a DS if the Volition at one point and loved it, @Kim888. Going to set that CT out for my next detox.

RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

My skin has been extra special bad this week. My routine slacked during recovery of my surgery and ugh, combination skin at its best. Patches of acne, patches of dry skin. So annoying. So I went with a bit of each for sheet masking. Too Cool For School’s Egg Cream Mask and the Jiinju Beauty’s Bamboo Charcoal Sheet Mask. Both good masks that fit decently.

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Weetart  Sorry to hear your skin isn't behaving! I hope you're able to get back on track soon! I haven't tried either of these, but they sound great! 😃

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

That TCFS mask is a good one @Weetart! I keep meaning to try the different varieties in that line but never get around to reaching for them because I always seem to gravitate to this one instead. 😂

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Same here @itsfi ! I’ve put them in the cart and then go, nope nope nope!

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Weetart I hope you're recovering well!

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I am @lmaster thank you!

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Weetart glad the too cool for school worked for you! it's such a great mask!

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

It really is @Kim888 every time I see them at Marshall’s I grab em.

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Ugh I feel your pain, @Weetart! The charcoal mask looks good, bamboo sheets always fit so comfortably:) Does exfoliating help even things out at all?

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Exfoliating does help for sure. I’m not totally sure why I went so out of wack. Probably combination of stress, being out in below 10 degree weather that set it off. That and I ran out of Retinol and because I have been a bum I haven’t picked up another which I normally put on every night. Been using my PTR Green Releaf which has 2% retinods but I’m not sure if it’s a good enough substitution. @eshoe thinking of trying Murad’s new line.

Re: RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Sounds like the perfect blend of the wrong ingredients @Weetart 😔 I am not very familiar with Murad, I actually don’t think I’ve ever tried the brand. I have the peel/mask but haven’t used it yet. Is the new line for troubled skin?

E is for Espresso

Spoiler

Double & Zero Espresso Revital Ampoules Mask

This is a medium-thick cotton sheet mask that was dripping with serum. It claims to have a "sweet latte" scent, but I did not smell that. To me it smelled like a mix of rubbing alcohol and maybe a touch of a coffee scent - but the ingredients don't  list alcohol, so I'm thinking it was the wine extract I was smelling. It was pretty light and not very noticeable while the mask was on. The fit was good - just slightly too long at the chin and a little too wide at the temples. After about a half hour the mask was still wet, so I waited another 10 minutes before removing. I massaged in the leftover serum and it wasn't sticky or tacky at all. My face looked slightly brighter and had a refreshed and more awake kind of look and feel. My skin felt nicely hydrated and moisturized.

I was hoping this mask would have more of an apparent coffee/espresso kind of scent, but that's really the only negative thing I can say about it. Even though this was a bit thicker than I prefer, it was still pretty comfortable. The important thing is that it had great results. 👍 I would definitely use this one again and would even consider repurchasing if I didn't already have a gazillion masks I need to get through 😉😂
