Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@mrsmouse  I’m sorry to hear your allergic to aloe.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thanks @ather!  Fortunately, I am all better now and no worse for wear.  Smiley Happy

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@mrsmouse  Good to hear.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@mrsmouse  Oh my goodness! So sorry to hear you're allergic to aloe! You'd expect it to help with redness and itchiness, not cause it! That doesn't sound pleasant, but I'm glad it wasn't the pure stuff this time!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Right @Shosh85?!  It's such a common ingredient in soothing and calming masks.  I am just glad the allergy is somewhat mild (I mean, I did leave it on all night and for that length of time I feel the reaction wasn't bad at all) and also, now I know.  You might think I'm strange for being glad to be able to try it, but I am.  If I hadn't found out this way, it could have been a much bigger or stronger reaction when I did.  Smiley Happy

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh no @mrsmouse! I’m so sorry you had a reaction to the aloe mask. It’s one of my go-to’s for skin irritations or reactions. If the redness doesn’t go away or if you need a soothing mask to calm and soothe your skin, a honey mask may help.

About the snail 🐌 eye gels....hmmm.... 🤔 If the fragrance is too much, maybe use them on the soles of your feet along with a foot mask or on your elbows. The fragrance will still be there but it won’t be so close to your nose. 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thanks so much @itsfi!  Aloe certainly seems to be a common ingredient in calming masks.  In fact, it makes me wonder if some of the other calming masks that haven't worked for me in the past had that as an ingredient.  Maybe the percentage was small & since it's only left on for 30 minutes I didn't realize I was reacting, but just thought the mask wasn't doing much?

I used these last Thursday night (I'm a little behind on my posting), so my skin is perfectly fine now.  I'm going to keep a mental note on the honey recommendation though as I bet that would have felt wonderful.

That's a good idea to try the hydrogels elsewhere.  Stupidly, I bought another jar of Esfolio ones (black pearl, not snail) thinking the different type would mean not the same fragrance.  I was wrong.  It's exactly the same and still strong.  Oh well, you live you learn, right?  Smiley Wink

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh my gosh @mrsmouse allergic to aloe?? I'm so sorry you found this out,, hopefully it didn't do too much damage

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Honestly @lmaster, it was far better to confirm it this way rather than to find out with something that has a higher percentage of aloe.  The itching subsided a lot after washing it off and putting on the Cicapair Tiger Grass cream.  Thankfully there was absolutely no burning sensation & the redness subsided throughout the day.  All in all it wasn't that bad to be honest & I really do feel like I should have known better.  Truth be told, I am counting my blessings with this one and now I know to steer clear of aloe.  Smiley Happy

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Sounds like a blessing for sure!! @mrsmouse

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Last week I also did E for Egg Cream Mask from @Loretta55 but I'm a little delayed on posting

My face

Spoiler
20200201_083107.jpg

The mask fit well and I accidentally had it on much past the recommended time of 10-20 minutes. I think it was around 35. It did pop off the chin some. My skin looked good and there was no tack. There was a little extra serum I used for my neck but not much. The one thing I didn't like was the scent. It was quite floral. I was surprised considering fragrance is the last ingredient. It has a lot of good ingredients high on the list. It's the type of mask I'd use again but wouldn't seek out to buy. I'd give it an A- because the results and wear time were nice but the scent isn't my thing. Thanks @Loretta55 for sending this along with all the other amazing goodies!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica  I don’t remember the scent when I used my expired one. And I’m not a fan of floral on my face. But glad results were good!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Now I'm curious if I'm just the odd one smelling floral @ather 😂

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica  me too. I know Sephora doesn’t carry them anymore. So if I see one I’ll have to pick it up and try again.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica  I'm always hearing great reviews on this one but it's too bad about the scent! I'm not a big fan of floral either, so it's good to have a heads up 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica great fit!! When were we going to use the papa recipe masks?? I forgot already 🤦

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Hahaha. This week would have been a good one to pick - F for fruitables and I got mine from @faeriegirl. But I have them on my schedule for March 9th for P and "good enough to eat" @lmaster.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Ok @ShortErica sounds good!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I am happy that you are enjoying the mask @ShortErica. Too Cool For School facial products seem to be too heavy on my face.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I'll be curious to try the other ones @Loretta55. Thanks again!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I feel any Too Cool For School product is just too heavy on my skin unfortunately @ShortErica. I used some of their products for too long and now I am paying the price. I have too many areas of congestion on my face. I am super impatient about the areas clearing up but according to the BA’s at Sephora I am following the correct course with my skincare.
