Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ehhhh @eshoe well,, for me personally, I like the idea of cleaning out my pores, with normally having oily skin and wearing so much makeup,,, clay is the new hydrating mask 🤣

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster  These seem like a nice concept, but I didn't think they were too impressive either. I'm pretty sure the pink was my favorite 😉

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster  not the first time I've read that these were ok. I've requested these as my samples a few times but they just never came. Guess I'm not missing out on much.

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@GalPalVal17 @Shosh85 yeah these unfortunately are not products I'd buy based on these samples

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster sorry to hear those didn't work out for you! I agree I find them pretty average

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yeah @Kim888 very meh 😆

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster  From what I remember (I used this sample a pretty long time ago), I think I liked the pink one the most out of the bunch. 🙂

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The pink one was so much smoother,, as it should be, I didn't even realize the green was an exfoliating mask until the next day @PrettyPaint should probably read more carefully 🤦

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I haven't had time to do much masking, but I finally worked in a few today and it was so nice. First I used Biobelle's Hydrogel Black Lace. I was happy to see it's a two-piece mask. I usually have so much trouble with mask fit, but the fit on this one was basically perfect for me. And the fabric was so comfortable to wear. It contains glycolic acid, tapioca pearls, algin and truffle extract. I left it on for around 20 minutes, and my skin felt nice and soft/smooth and looked quite fresh/bright. I really liked this one and would repurchase. Plus, I loved the look of it (see pics below).

Next I grabbed some samples out of my most recent ulta sample bag. I had never used a lip patch before. This one was patchology's keep smiling mood patch. It contains lavender, violet, and coconut extract. It smelled really good, though I think the whole experience of a lip patch was a little restrictive for my liking. I felt a bit of a tingling sensation while wearing it and my lips felt somewhat moisturized, but I didn't really see any added value over a typical lip balm type mask. So it was fun for the novelty factor, but I definitely wouldn't repurchase.

The last sample I tried was freeman's hydrating glacier water + pink peony gel cream mask. It's a leave on mask, it's light blue in color, and it has a nice gel texture. It's supposed to calm and soften the skin. My skin definitely looked more glowy and felt moisturized after wearing this. However, I definitely didn't find it calming. Something in it seemed to irritate my skin. At first it just seemed a little tingly, but I'd say it almost approached a slight burning sensation (which is a little concerning to me). The burning went away and my face is looking quite nice (and no redness), but I feel like the burning/stinging was enough to where I'm a bit hesitant to try it again.

Here are some pics of all the stuff...

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I just tried a black lace mask tonight and it was beautiful, @PrettyPaint. This one is especially appealing as it is two-part and I think for hydrogel and foil masks that is especially important. This one sounds absolutely wonderful!

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  Oh yes, I was thrilled that it is two piece. I'm beginning to really appreciate two-piece masks due to all my fit issues.

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PrettyPaint  oh that black lace mask is so pretty. I bet you enjoyed looking at that one on 🙂

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you so much @GalPalVal17

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

What a pretty mask @PrettyPaint

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@emaisgr8  I agree 🙂 It's definitely one of the prettiest I have tried!

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PrettyPaint that lace mask sounds amazing! Sorry the other mask made your skin burn - sometimes no matter how good the results it's not totally worth it!

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888  Yup, I totally agree. A light tingle is fine with me, but once it verges on a burning sensation I get a little worried. 🙂

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PrettyPaint  I had the same reaction to the Freeman's mask too! - definitely wasn't calming.
The BioBelle Glam mask is one of my favorites from the brand! I know a lot of people don't like it because of how slippery it is, but that didn't bother me. Glad to hear you got some nice results from it as well! 😃

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85  Oh no! Sorry you had the same reaction. I definitely won't try it again then. There must be some ingredient that doesn't agree with me. Plus, I'm not sure if this is related, but I woke up with a couple pimples (which is pretty rare for me). So I'm glad it was just a sample....

I didn't find the Biobelle to be overly slippery. It was a little slippery coming out of the packaging, but I had no trouble whatsoever keeping it on my face! 🙂

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That really is pretty @PrettyPaint I don't think I've ever tried the biobelle mask,, so sorry to hear the Freeman mask was irritating to your skin!!

Re: 2019 Q4 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@lmaster Thanks! Yes, I liked the Biobelle a lot. I'm also finding myself to be a pretty big fan of two-piece masks (fit is sooooo much better for me), so this definitely helped. I'm glad the Freeman was just an ulta sample. But it didn't leave any marks on my skin, so it definitely could have been worse!
