Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I love the packaging and the results sound wonderful @Weetart

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

The packaging is cool @lmaster ! I did put the olive one in the motm box I mailed out yesterday.

Re: RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Oh nice!! @Weetart

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Weetart  So great to hear this has been a good line of masks for you! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I've tried a lot from A'pieu, but nothing from this line yet! I'll definitely have to start trying them out! Do you have a favorite?

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85 I havenโ€™t tried many, I forget the ones I have tried... but they were delicate in scent and moisturizing and refreshing. I got them during their 50% sale.

Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This one sounds nice; love when thereโ€™s extra serum @Weetart. ๐Ÿ’•

RE: Re: RE: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Extra serum is sooo satisfying @itsfi

โ€œBโ€ is for Biocellulose. Or is it?

Spoiler
Started off with a little Wild Berries lip balm from @l8totheparty, yum! This hitched a ride in a box full of Canadian treats recently. The snacks are long gone but fortunately, this is here for tonightโ€™s masking. Thank you, my friend!

I applied a thick layer of the Ole Henriksen Berry Nurturing Gel Mask, which is scented more of lavender than berries. I left it on about ten minutes. For reasons unsure, my skin has decided to become more sensitive than usual and Iโ€™ve had to watch any enzyme masks/acidic toners for redness and welts. Iโ€™ve been consistently using Bakuchiol every other night for a few months now, alternating brands every two weeks. It is touted as safe and non-irritating, so I wonder if there are ingredients in some of the brands that are bothering my skin. Never encountered this while solely using the Herbivore๐Ÿ˜ข Iโ€™ve suddenly found myself Struggling to find a mask in my stash to leave on for more than 10-15 minutes that my skin will tolerate๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Finally, I was extra excited to try the Freeman Superfood Sheet Mask. Itโ€™s star ingredient: artichoke! Itโ€™s material: biocellulose! I couldnโ€™t be happier about this combination, though my preference for artichokes is roasted and dipped in garlic butter. So I open this with great  anticipation - what is that scent? Hmmmm. Hairspray? Aquanet, I think ๐Ÿคญ

A single protective layer that felt like a mesh/plastic hybrid helped to make it easy to apply. It was a little tricky, as the shape was slightly oversize and stiff, despite feeling on the thin side. It was...awkward? My entire top lip was covered, and the chin area was wayyyyy more than necessary. I didnโ€™t trim it, just kept patting it back. It felt a little itchy at times, but that dissipated quickly. I left it on as long as I could, maybe ten minutes, and removed.

There was a bit of tackiness, not too bad. I just did a mirror check, and my skin looks not happy. Itโ€™s maybe worse than when I started ๐Ÿ˜‚ You win some, you lose some. At least I didnโ€™t buy a box;)

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Oh @eshoe  Aquanet is not a good smell for your face. Sorry youโ€™re having sensitivities lately.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe oh wow!! I was so excited to see artichoke,,, I'm so sorry to see your skin is being intolerable of the new products ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

They have a radish one too, @lmaster! I think I might just try that one. Although, alcohol denatured is #4 on this list which makes me *think* it might be placed somewhere close in the other one, too๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Why @eshoe

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Oh no, so sorry about the Freeman's mask! Is your face back to normal now? I've only tried one Freeman's sheet mask (from a different line) and actually ended up liking it a lot! Too bad this one was a bad experience for you! ๐Ÿ˜ข

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Everything is a-ok now, @Shosh85, thank you! Iโ€™ve tried some of their washโ€”off masks and really enjoyed them. I believe @sephoraaddict918 was the key enabler on those๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Sorry to hear that your skin is more sensitive @eshoe. It may be an ingredient or ingredients in the products you are using; or that the products are not working well together. Also, it may be reacting to the different Bakuchiol products being introduced - you mentioned not encountering this when your routine consisted solely of Herbivore bakuchiol. Our skin responds to products / ingredients differently depending on a host of factors, and โ€œsafe and non-irritatingโ€œ isnโ€™t always a one size fits all sort of thing.

Have you tried pausing on masks for the time being and maybe just applying aloe (the more pure the formula, the better) to your face to help with soothing.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I think you are on to something, @itsfi. There might be some โ€˜sidecarโ€™ ingredients that are not working well for me. Time to read those lists more carefully, so I can pinpoint whatever it is and get back on the mask track. I am waiting on the RE:P Bio Fresh Mask With Real Calming Herbs, hoping that will give me an opportunity mask without any adverse reactions!

oh such a let down on the scent for you ๐Ÿ˜’@eshoe at least...

oh such a let down on the scent for you ๐Ÿ˜’@eshoe at least the lip balm was a treat

Re: oh such a let down on the scent for you ๐Ÿ˜’@eshoe at least...

Maybe the radish will actually have a radish scent, @sonnydee - then again, Iโ€™m not so sure that would be the best thing๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Glad you like it! @eshoe

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Thanks, @l8totheparty, I love it!

Y is for Yadah

Spoiler
Under the sea mask pack is a thin white sheet saturated in clear bubbly serum, which included plenty extra in the sleeve. The scent,,, ok I know what seaweed smells like because I have a pond,,, and it definitely is pretty close! Fortunately you can't smell it while it's on your face. Wear time was 20 minutes, I could tell the sheet was starting to get close to being dry, after removing my skin was nicely hydrated, extremely soft and plump, very lightly moisturized. Great results not so great scent
