@PrettyPaint, I read somewhere (and right now, I'm kicking myself for not making a note of where I read it) that some brands change their mask shapes every couple of years. So one year may be smaller and then they may change it another year or every so many number of years, whether making the shape wider or longer or making the eye holes, mouth holes, etc. wider or more narrower. I decided that I would just use my sheet masks to hone my skills with mini scissors. Hahaha! 🙂
That's extremely interesting @itsfi. I'll need to research it more when I get a chance. I'd be curious to see the bases of the changes (consumer feedback, changing facial features, focus groups, etc.).
Haha @lmaster Yeah, I feel like this is my usual approach too.
@PrettyPaint Yay for another good one! I'm happy these are turning out nice so far! 🐽
If I do make any adjustments, I just make some snips. If there is a ton of length at the chin, I'll cut some of it off, but mostly I snip. If the mouth is too small I just make little snip at both corners of the mouth 👇
(Pic is from Google. The black lines are where I like to snip if the mouth hole is too small 😉)
Thanks so much for the pic @Shosh85. That's helpful! 🙂 I feel like snips are generally a bit "safer" than cutting portions off once it's already placed on my face. Not too interested in cutting myself! 🙂
@ShortErica @PrettyPaint This is an example of when I'd cut a piece off 👇😂
@Shosh85 Haha. I think I remember you posting this, though I can't remember what the purpose of all that extra fabric was supposed to be. Is it supposed to be for your neck? 🙂
@PrettyPaint Either it was just too large and there really isn't a purpose or they intended the neck to get some coverage too - but the problem was that the material was so thick and heavy, all that extra length wouldn't stay folded under and I could literally feel it pulling down on the mask. It was uncomfortable and annoying so it came off 😉😂
@Shosh85 That's hilarious. It looks pretty uncomfortable in the picture. Not sure what the "mask designers" were going for there.
@Shosh85 what are you talking about?! That's a perfect fit! 🤣
@sonnydee Thanks so much for the tips! Yeah, I think I could do a better job making adjustments while the mask is off, so maybe I just need to take some detailed notes on mask fit when I use repeat masks. I usually can't tell whether I'm going to need to make adjustments when I'm trying a mask for the first time.
Taking a break from LookAtMe and going with this Leaders Lifting mask, gifted to me by the lovely @ShortErica (thanks again!)😊
Leaders Mediu Amino Lifting Mask
This is a super thin and sorta meshy cotton sheet mask that was soaking with serum and had a pleasant clean and fresh scent. The scent was light and not too noticeable while the mask was on. The fit was great and was just a bit too long at the chin. It adhered well and was very comfortable to wear the 35 minutes to had it on. After removing it, the leftover serum absorbed quickly, but the tackiness stuck around for about a half hour. My face felt refreshed and nicely hydrated and my skin looked a little brighter, but I can't say I noticed any lifting - that may just be something I'd notice after more regular uses.
This is a nice one and I'd definitely use again, but out of the 3 from the line that I've tried, the AC-free is my favorite (also from ShortErica 😉)
An half hour for the tackiness to fade away is a long time @Shosh85; sorry about that. I agree that firming claims are ones that are more suitable for testing with regular use. This one does have a nice ingredients list, which I would expect from Leaders. The propolis one from this line is a nice one; have you tried that one?
Boo about the tackiness! I went with the Glam and the Glow this week and will have to pull my L masks for another time. My first thought was what color is AC-Free?! Hahaha. Easy to look at pictures. I'll definitely be curious about your rankings after you try them all @Shosh85.
@ShortErica The AC free one is red. This lifting one is orange, though it's hard to tell from the picture in my post above. I'd really love to try the Tea Tree one 👍🌱
So far I've tried the Lifting, AC free and the Double Moisture one, which isn't in this photo because it's a newer one. The only one I have left to try is the regular Moisture one (blue). Which ones have you tried?
None @Shosh85. I bought but haven't tried yet. I went with glam and glow vs. L for the week. So many L options. I've got to get to them though.
