2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was such a nice experience, I'm glad I have a few more of these left in the pack.

@GalPalVal17

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sounds pleasant @l8totheparty. Have you tried any others from the brand? I tend to see it at Marshall’s quite a bit but haven’t picked them up.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was a very pleasant mask!  I bought the honey one as well, but haven't tried it yet. Above the lip didn't stay stuck down, but other than that the fit was nice, I thought. And the smell was so delightful!  @ShortErica

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

(Too many characters to post in OP, so here goes...)

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge Half-Year Update

Spoiler

Congrats to everyone masking along with us, we are halfway through the year and the 2019 challenge!

A few updates to share:

We have grown, and I’d love your help if you are interested!

Masking Surveys:

I would like to know how everyone feels about the surveys as a new Mask Surveys thread. I could link the survey in the OP, it would be the same as clicking on a link like you do now to take a survey, except we would have a thread in Skincare dedicated to surveys. If you are interested in heading this up, please send me a PM so I can send you some info. Otherwise, we will just keep it stationed here in the OP.

Reviews Spreadsheet:

My goal is to maintain this through the end of the year. It is a great resource, especially as we are unable to search the thread for reviews. I could use one or two trusted BIC members who are willing to help keep the spreadsheet updated. PM me if this is something you are interested in.

@veronika23has suggested adding an exfoliating factor into our mask reviews. If you know your mask is a chemical/physical exfoliating mask, please include those details. This will greatly help others who are trying to avoid/need to shy away from certain acids and intensive masks.

Along those lines, @CC3616 has developed a spreadsheet to help ID known exfoliating masks. Please PM her if you are interested in taking a peek. Manythanks to her for putting this together.

Mask Meetups:

Thank you everyone for organizing and joining so many meetups. If anyone is interested in heading up a Mask Meetup Threadin the Skincare Group, with a link in the OP Masking Thread Challenge Thread, please PM me. As with the surveys, if it's best in everyone's eyes to keep it here, we'll just keep it here.

Masks on the Move:

We are headed into the second round of MOtM. Thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Not only are we giving our skin some love, but having some fun along the way! Is anyone interested in heading up a Christmas/Holiday/New Year’s MOtM? Please PM me!

2020 MOTW Challenge:

I have been adding your suggestions to the new schedule and would love to hear more ideas for next year’s challenge. It would be great to have a schedule for the new year based on weekly themes from everyone here! Let me know if there is a week you would like added. Deadline is December 1st.

CA/US <3

Finally, @missjeanie and @ShortErica are working together to create a spreadsheet of hard-to-find/unavailable masks in Canada/US so we can help each other out with our love of masking. Please PM one of them if you have a mask in mind.

On to the second half of the year, this has been such a joy for me, I <3 my fellow maskers!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks for all the hard work you do! Much appreciated! @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you, @veronika23😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you for all you do on this thread @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You’re welcome @emaisgr8 happy to be a part of this groupSmiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Thank you so very much for all of your hard work on this thread and everything you do to keep it running. I was a little nervous to post here at first because I'm not very experienced with the sheet masking world, but all of you have been so incredibly welcoming and I am so appreciative of that. I don't think I know of anyone face-to-face that is much into masking, so I am so very grateful to get to chat with you all and I've learned so much already. Thank you, thank you! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You are welcome @PrettyPaint 😊 I started posting here after lurking for awhile and one of the first reviews I gave was about a mask I thought had an awful fit and it was so bad I threw it out. @itsfi gently asked if I had removed both protective layers😳 That would be a negative! I was very humbled and appreciative to say the least. We have such a great group of maskers!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you so much @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You’re welcome @faeriegirl! We have the best masking group here😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you so much @eshoe for all your hard work!! It is greatly appreciated sweet lady!! I could help for sure in some way after the kids go back to school mid August 😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That would be awesome @lmaster the school year is my busy time 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe count me in 👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  Thank you for all the work and effort you put into this thread. You are awesome for organizing surveys and keeping us updated on all the feedback you received, along with all the other helpers. Love seeing the results of everything.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you @GalPalVal17, it’s so much fun to be able to share in masking experiences here. It’s such a great platform, masking was pretty lonely before I discovered BIC😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe This is such a great list of everything. I think having separate areas for the surveys and meetups would be convenient. The original post can get cluttered with so much info. If others agree, I’m onboard to take charge of the survey thread.

If that would work for you, I’d be happy to take the results (is it surveymonkey and is it downloaded as spreadsheet?) from the completed surveys for the first half of the year and put everything in a standard format for the new thread. Then we could continue on there.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica this would be amazing! Not to mention incredible helpful. I will PM you.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe I see your PM. When I return home (not until July 13!) I’ll start it up. No point making it with no new surveys yet. I’m happy to help. Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!
