Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface

I absolutely hate returning things too @itsfi so idk if I'll just try to use this in conjunction with better hair masks to use it up,, that's probably what I'll do,,, but the rose oil ahhhhhhh mazing!!

@lmaster, do you have any hair oils that you think are okay to good, but not great? Maybe you could use those up as well as the Shea butter mask by combining them both?

@itsfi I love love love hair oils, yep I got a sample of some from devacurl that I have not tried yet, so that could be an option for sure

@lmaster   Interesting.  When I think shea butter I think skin care and not hair care.  The rose oil sounds divine!!

I have a feeling my sensitive nose and I would not like that sheet mask 😂 I'm happy to hear you loved the serum! There are some serums I wish were sold separately!

I so agree about the shea moisture hair masks @lmaster. They didn't help my hair at all and I feel like made it worse. Glad the oil helped!

C is for ceramidin & completely amazing results!

Dr Jart Ceramidin Mask: My skin seems to LOVE ceramidin, so I had high hopes for this mask and it definitely didn't disappoint.  The serum in this masks seems to be more of a cream consistency than a liquid, so there was absolutely no dripping which was nice.  I will admit that it smelled a little strange to me, but I think it's just the ingredients as there is no added fragrance.  The mask itself was slightly short in the forehead, a tad wide in the temples, and was long enough to wrap a bit under the chin (none of which is unusual for my face shape).  What struck me about this mask was how well it adhered to my face, and I mean Alien Face Hugger kind of adherence.  Even though I had to make some adjustments, there were no air pocket/bubbles of air between the mask and my skin & what wrapped under my chin stayed put without me having to smooth it back down.  I left it on for about 40 minutes and my skin looked plump and very well hydrated after.  I took the used mask, along with some of the extra serum in the pouch, and smoothed it over my neck, chest, arms, legs....pretty much everywhere.  The serum absorbed within a few minutes and there was no tackiness, my skin just felt amazing!  This is one I will buy repeatedly and pick up every time I see it for a discount just to have extras on hand.

Redkin All Soft Mega Hair Mask:  This comes in a single use pouch & is a cap with the conditioner already in it. I popped it on in the shower after shampooing and left it on for maybe 20 minutes or so before removing the cap and rinsing well.  There is a sticker tab attached to the cap so that you can adjust it for your head size.  There is definitely a fragrance to it, but I did not feel it was extremely overpowering.  My hair felt so incredibly soft after using this & my normal fly aways/frizz/static was just GONE.  If fact, the next day (I shower mostly at night) 2 of my coworkers immediately commented on how great my hair looked and one, who is a good friend, even grabbed my hair and said, "What did you use?!  It looks & feels amazing and I need it!" It's one thing when you notice, but something different altogether when others notice.  This is a definite repurchase for me as well.

Great masking combination @mrsmouse ! Is the whole Ceramidin line reformulated or just the sheet mask? I know that the packaging changed but I haven’t been able to compare the ingredients list from before to the new one. Glad that you had the old version mask!

@keana1 @mrsmouse, my recollection is that the entire Ceramidin line was reformulated to take out silicones and include more ceramides in the products. I think this happened sometime last year.

That's really interesting @itsfi .  I would think that those changes would actually make the mask better, so I wonder why it's not performing as well.

@itsfi I have had some misses recently with Dr Jart so am glad to hear that this mask was a winner! My skin absolutely LOVES ceramidin as well !

I honestly don't know @keana1 .  @itsfi was the one who alerted me that it was a different formula than what's currently on the market.  I can take a pic of the ingredients when I get home if you want and post it here.  Just let me know.  🙂
