@itsfi that's exactly what happened with the 1a day mask I just used, whoooo. The perfume scent was strong, I could smell it while I had the mask on, but the scent did get lighter the longer I wore it
@itsfi Thanks so much for the detailed review. It does look like it would be a good cold weather mask. That's too bad the scent was so intense. I think I have one of these that I need to try, so I'm curious to see how strong I will find the initial scent to be!
I’m curious to know what you think of the scent too @PrettyPaint, and how you would describe it.
The results must have been wonderful, @itsfi! It's nice to see some of the other Dearpacker masks here, I've only tried a couple and have one I'm holding onto for G week, but was curious about this one.
I uncovered several Dearpacker masks in my stash last year @eshoe. Now I just need to make a concentrated effort to use them more frequently.
@itsfi I always think these have the nicest packaging! Thanks for the great review!
Agree @Kim888! The design and coloring are so pleasing to the eye. 😍
@itsfi This is probably another one my nose wouldn't be able to handle - but those results sound so nice! I'm glad it turned out ok! 😃
I don't I could handle the scent either @Shosh85
@emaisgr8, it was strong and if you don’t do well with scents I’d definitely skip this one.
@Shosh85, I was happy when the initial scent was replaced by the lotion-y one. hahaha! Glad the scent faded away. Wish you could try this one. I know you'd like the results, but I wouldn't want your nose to be unhappy. If I come across something with these results but without the fragrance, I will be sure to let you know. 🙂
I dug through about a hundred masks and couldn’t find a mask name or brand that started with D! So, instead, I found a mask with an interesting D ingredient 😉
This is a Pear Nourishing Hydromask from L’Herboflore:
It contains the ingredient: Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate.
According to Shiseido’s Beauty Ingredient Dictionary, “Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a substance contained in licorice root that is known as a raw material in herbal medicine. It inhibits inflammation and is effective in care for rough skin and acne. Taking advantage of these characteristics, it is used in various products such as sunscreens, lotions, and cold medicine. Recently it is also being blended in shampoos, conditioning the scalp environment, and is promising for effects that lead to healthy hair.”
Now for the actual mask review 😊
What I like about this mask: The mask material is super soft and fits superbly. It is absolutely drenched in watery, semi-thick essence, and there is enough extra essence for hands, arms, neck, décolletage, and legs. There is a very subtle pear fragrance when you open and apply the mask, but it fades very quickly. The ingredients leave my skin very hydrated and plumped, with zero irritation. The price is reasonable at US$2.90, and it comes on sale for US$2.00 every now and then. (I just checked and ShopChuusi has it on sale right now at that price.)
What I don’t like about this mask: The outer packaging is unnecessarily large (the largest of all my masks) and the mask itself is adhered to a plastic sheet. Way too much waste.
My rating: If it weren’t for all the unnecessary packaging, I’d give this mask an A+. However, I feel guilty every time I purchase this mask, so I give it a B. I hope L’Herboflore gets with the program and reduces its packaging like many of its competitors have already done.
Here is the ingredient list: Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Lactobacillus/Pear Juice Ferment Filtrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose, Panthenol, Trehalose, Xanthan Gum, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Acetate.
So glad you liked this one, @PinkEvergreen! L'herboflore makes some wonderful masks!
@quspork While I prefer no-fragrance masks, these ones have such a light, natural fragrance that dissipates perfectly. It really enhances the experience. And the fit and feel are sooo good! ☺️
@lmaster I have four more and I hope they will have improved the packaging by the time I’m ready to repurchase! 😏
Yes, I agree on the packaging @PinkEvergreen - this one is HUGE! But the scent sounds lovely, and I've liked their masks as well (I've tried the rose and watermelon ones).
@eshoe Mmm, watermelon... ☺️ I’ll have to check if I’ve got that one. I know I have a mango one that I can’t wait to use. I’m sure it will be devine! 😊
Thanks for the ingredient info @PinkEvergreen - I love learning about what's in these masks.
@ShortErica Lol, you bet 😉 I’m trying to slowly increase my knowledge of ingredients, so I can actually tell the difference between ones that will be helpful and ones I probably should avoid. At the moment, most of them are still quite mysterious to me! 🕵️♀️
@PinkEvergreen oooh I love the scent of pear - that sounds like a great mask other than all the extra packaging!
