Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface

Hahaha! 😂🤣😂 Yeah @eshoe, “meh-minus” is part of my rating system now. It’s for those masks between “it’s not you, it’s me” and “no, it’s you, it’s definitely you.” Oh my goodness eshoe, this lip scrub took what seemed like forever to finish; I started using it as an elbow scrub and foot scrub to help me get through it. 😬 I still have the lemonade flavor ♥️ that I am trying to keep for as long as possible since it’s limited edition and when I’m done with it, that’ll be it for that flavor. 😔 I have another SH lip scrub open one as well (can’t remember if it’s vanilla bean or brown sugar). I’ll probably grab those two and a couple other lip scrubs from different brands that I have open and rotate through those through the spring and summer.

Such a good idea to use it for elbows and feet @itsfi. That rose one I picked up at Cost Plus has been a great candidate for that. I haven’t tried any of her lip scrubs yet, but when I *finally* finish my Lush I am going to give one a whirl😉

Tonight I’m using a Pmegranate It’s Skin mask.  It’s supposed to give my skin glow and vitality.  Whatever that means it smells crisp like pomegranate. Off to a good start!  The cotton is on the thicker side but there’s enough thin slippery serum to make it stick well.  I don’t feel like it’s a very good fit but the scent of pomegranate is saving this one for me.  I have to keep reattaching the mask to the underside of my jaw vais eit keeps falling off. This is a lay down and relax mask.  Do I have a glow?  I always have a glow after masks.  Vitality?  What?   It gets a B.  

I am trying the Skyn Iceland Berry Fix Lip with wintered red algae. It has a very slight cooling effect and is a little gritty. I am confused as to why it’s gritty.  Not my favorite sensation but I’ll try this treatment for a week or two and see how it goes.

@heartsmyfaceI think vitality on the packaging just means that someone googled buzzwords and stuck one in there to try and get us to buy stuff.  lol... gotta say... i'd fall for it. lol on the plus side... pleasant scent!!  I have one of those Skyn lip fixes as well and forgot I even had it until seeing it here, I'm curious to see if you think the grit was worth it in the end!

Hmmm.... not sure what to make about the vitality claim either @heartsmyface! That sounds more fitting for an energy drink. Maybe they mean the mask is supposed to be invigorating or help with dullness. Sorry the fit didn't work out but the scent of pomegranate sounds wonderful!

I’m currently using up that Skyn as well @heartsmyface, and it is gritty. Lasts like most organic lip treatments, but it does have a nice scent 🤷🏻‍♀️

@heartsmyface At least the Pomegranate mask smells good! That always makes or breaks a mask for me. I've never been too sure what vitality in mask is suppose to mean exactly either – maybe like energizing? 🤷‍♀️ A "B" mask isn't too bad. 😉

Week 9 - Feb 25 - Mar 3 - I - Spring Flowers

Decided to copy @lmaster with a Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask (given to me by the awesome @eshoe ) though mine was in Pomegranate

As lmaster reviewed, the fit was pretty amazing. I could have done with a little extra on the forehead but it was a nice fitting mask.

The mask had a nice amount of serum and I probably wore it a bit over 20 minutes. There was a smell. I would describe it as rose-like since I have no idea was Pomegranate flowers smell like. It was there but not distracting. When I removed the mask, the serum was fully absorbed.

My skin was soft and looked refreshed. I wouldn't say a wow result but it looked nice. The skin felt wonderful and I would say no tackiness at all.

Quick semi-tangent: the instructions said to "remove protective film" but I couldn't find a protective film. When I read that direction I was excited because usually I question what side of the mask has more serum and should be placed on my face. So discovering no protective film I was confused. I had my husband look at the mask after I removed it and checked the package to confirm I wasn't missing something. @lmaster did your directions say there was a protective film and if so, was one on your mask and how did it look?

The package had lots of leftover serum. I wish the serum would have been on the mask so I could have worn it longer instead. But I applied an extra layer of serum to my face, all over my neck, and on my hands and elbows. I would describe this activity as drenching these areas in serum because there was that much extra in the package.

I will give this a solid B+. Good fit, not overwhelming smell, super soft not tacky skin, and decent wear time. I may have been lenient with my earlier grades so I wonder if I would technically rate this higher than others I gave A's.

That's so odd about the protective cover directions, @ShortErica- how funny! At least the mask itself mostly worked out though.

@ShortErica That's interesting (and confusing) that the directions say to remove a non-existent divider.... but props for you for actually reading it! Haha! I'm not so sure what pomegranate flowers are? That's good to hear the scent wasn't bothersome. Sounds like a pretty nice one! I love the packaging on these too! 🌹🤗

Thanks @lmaster! There was a brief moment where I thought I was a bit dumb but after my husband ripped the mask in half I assumed it was a printing error and possibly the directions were for a different mask. I appreciate you responding. 🙂

@ShortErica, I find that there can be a difference in grading a mask immediately after or shortly after I’ve used it and then when I’m comparing it vis-a-vis all the masks I’ve used in a given week.

Oh that's a good point @itsfi. I tend to rate my masks the night I use them. I've seen others say how their skin looks the next morning. I probably should consider that too. At least I've made notes on the masks I've used for reference in the future.

Keeping notes 📝 helps a lot @ShortErica! For me, my notes on whether I’d repurchase a mask, or if I’d buy a mask in bulk, is a very telling comment on how great a mask is.
