@qusporkI loved the show! After the last season I was sad that it was over. I heard rumor of a movie a while back and am glad that you found confirmation! I just love the historical dramatizations!
@quspork This one sounds like a great mask, besides the fit! I'm super sensitive to scents (especially floral) so, I probably couldn't do this one, because of that. Tack-less, plump, bright and hydrated skin does sound wonderful! Glad you liked it!
Saturday Masking! I used the Creme Shop Rose Water Mask in the morning, I only detected an ever so slight floral scent, and I had my nose right in the packet trying to smell something. The mask itself was refreshing, and my skin looked like it had a boost of moisture after, but I wouldn't say it was anything special. This will likely go into the catagory of nice-refreshing-don't have to think about them-masks. The fit was a little on the large side, but nothing I couldn't work with.
Half way through the day I tried out the cucumber eye pads from Dirty Works. These had a nice cucumber scent to them, but I couldn't smell it after a minute, so it wasn't too strong. They were quite wet with serum. I put them over my eyes for about 20 minutes. I'm not sure that I'm a mask over my eyes kinda gal. I felt a bit of stinging for about 30 seconds then after that nothing. I'm wondering if my eyes were just too dry? It was weird not being able to look around/do things while I masked. I think next time I might just cut one of the cucumbers in half and use it under my eyes, or wait til I'm relaxing pool side. My skin was a touch tacky after use, but well moisturized.
This evening I used up the second half of my OH Power Peel pod from earlier in the week. I didn't quite have enough of step 1 so I added in a bit of another scrub and just removed it right away instead of leaving it on for the 15 minutes. Step 2 and 3 are the real winners in my books here. I followed the timelines for step 1 and 2 this time and everything went well. A slight tingle, but nothing bad, and super soft skin afterwards!
Yeah I'm with ya @missjeanie, I'm just not a big fan of the over-the eyes sort of masks. Who has the time for that 😄 They look pretty, though!
@eshoe I won't even try to lie... the pretty cucumber design is why I bought them. My quest for a great (for me) eye mask is strong -- but this really was just the "ohhhh they look like cucumbers!" that won me over lol.
Yes, the ‘great for me’ eye mask search is a good one, @missjeanie. One size does not fit all, so it’s always fun to see who likes what 😉
@lmaster Just with eye masks... but the vitamin C ones I tried were all good? These ones weren’t as bad as the others though! Maybe I just have weird eyes lol 🤷🏻♀️
I’m so with you @missjeanie and @Shosh85 a mask over the eyes is not for me. 😐Though when I was a kid, my mom used to put cucumber slices 🥒 over my eyes when they would get puffy and swollen from allergies / hay fever, and that was cooling and soothing, so I could see myself doing that when my masking time is more focused on R&R.
@itsfi @missjeanie I'm not so sure how I feel about eating cucumbers that were just sitting on my face, and then putting them back. Haha! – but I do enjoy eating them😉😆 I remember watching this in the movies when I was young and thinking, why are they putting food on their face?! I totally didn't understand it! 😂
If I ever had time away from the kids to just lay down and relax, I would absolutely do it – that kind of luxury just doesn't happen very often. 🤷♀️🥒
@itsfi @Shosh85 I always saw this in the movies and thought it looked so cool! I remember trying it once or twice.. but same thing... If I'm at a spa or something where I can have a wee nap or am getting my nails done etc... sure, but at home I think I'm too programed to multitask all day everyday to see it being a thing for me.
@missjeanie @Shosh85 90% chance (with a plus or minus 10% margin of error) that I’d eat the cucumber slices; but unlike the gif, I wouldn’t put it back; I’d just eat ‘em. 😂🤣
Always in good company with you, @missjeanie @Shosh85! 😆💕
@missjeanie I kinda had the same thoughts about TCS Rose mask – a decent one, but more of a filler mask to use when you don't want to think about it. 😉
I also feel the same as you with the eye masks that cover your eyes - I just can't lie there with my eyes covered the whole time. I like to cut them in half as well – plus, that just means you get more uses out of them👍
More uses are good with me @Shosh85 ! I'll try to give them another go as I'm on a quick road trip/vacation after this week and will be able to sit by a pool, but I don't foresee it being a thing with me. I'll end up cutting them and using two days in a row. I need to be able to do something while I'm masking... Perusing BIC, watching a TV show, listening to the news... something...
I have a question for you mask experts. 🙂
I impulse purchased Sand and Sky’s pore refining face mask. I haven’t read every post in this thread, but has anyone tried this? If so, is it any good and ok for sensitive skin? I have it sitting here, and for some reason I’m always nervous applying skin products for the first time due to my sensitive skin (I’ve had some nasty reactions to products in the past... haha).
@sonnydee Ooh can’t wait to hear what you think. Right now just my nose is oily and the rest of my face is dry, so maybe I could just do a nose mask? 🙂
Just added it to the list @sonnydee! Thank you😊👍🏼
