Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface
Warm water helps remove clay masks quicker than cold	cianni
Lay sheet masks flat prior to use so the serum is more evenly distributed	eshoe

@Loretta55 this is a nice sleeping mask, I agree! I wonder if your derm would classify this as an exfoliating mask because of the PHA's.

Ha I could only imagine @Loretta55. Mine told me to exfoliate no more than once a month. She’s probably on to something, but so many masks I would have to give up...

My milia are only located on my forehead but I do have a single milia under each eye and one on my eyelid. I had a bad dermatologist experience about 4 years ago that I felt that was in a cut mill. I really do need a good mole check though @eshoe. Just hoping for the best!

Oh no @Loretta55 that sounds awful. I hope you find a good one, that is a bit more humane. That must have been stressful.

The last dermatologist that I visited was associated with a laboratory within the same building. His hands were shaking so he had his PA perform all of the procedures. He wanted me to return to get a suspicious mole removed @eshoe . I also was suffering from an allergic reaction to Bite Beauty products which is why I visited the dermatologist in the first place. I did not research that doctors credentials but I learned my lesson. Hopefully she will provide some guidance.

Oh really?!  As in- no AHAs, PHAs, BHAs? No manual exfoliation nor natural enzymes?  Only once a month?  As in- why did she tell you that? @eshoe

Good question @l8totheparty . I didn’t specify when we discussed it. She said people tend to over exfoliate, and that doing it too often makes it so hat the skin doesn’t have the time to regenerate properly, leaving it more susceptible to damage.

Hmm.  And what is your current stance?  

I am finding myself exfoliating twice a week currently. Up from 0 6 months ago, so that's a win.

Ha ha I hear ya @l8totheparty! I gave me a skin a generous 6 month rest after ignoring her words and damaging my skin so much that there were visible cracks on my cheeks. My makeup was also very patchy during that time. That was last summer I believe. My skin healed and now I exfoliate 2-3 times a week, once or twice physical and once or twice chemical. My skin is a-ok with it. I was using a konjac sponge daily which I also quit altogether. I use the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Padsa few times a week and don’t include them in this category although they might be considered to be. Any physical exfoliation I do now is very gentle (I de-stashed my walnut scrub), too.

A battle of all of your aloe masks seems like a good idea for summer @itsfi. I’d be interested in top 3 or favorites and also ones that are no repurchases.

@ShortErica, my favorite aloe sheet masks are probably from Benton, Tosowoong, My Beauty Diary, Merbliss and Leaders. I don’t know if I’ve used an aloe sheet mask that’s stood out as a solid “no” for me. At least not one that I recall at the moment.

Well that's good. I'd rather have a meh mask than one that causes a skin reaction. Aloe seems safe to try then @itsfi. Thanks for your list.

@faeriegirl, aloe is my go-to for after sun care and this Yadah mask is made of Tencel fiber so it feels soft and comfortable on - hit the spot! 🙂
