Thank you @missjeanie! I've been home for most of this week and that's been nice. Was good to be have some time off in the middle of the week. Did a little bit of work but not a full day.
It was @lmaster! Aloe is always a trusty friend for after sun care! 🙂
@itsfi my gma used to have an aloe vera plant, and anytime I got burned she would snap a leaf off and squeeze the aloe on my skin, best remedy by far
@itsfi I really enjoyed the Aloe mask! So perfect to use after being in the sun! Have you been able to try the other two?
I hope you had a wonderful 4th! 🎇🎆
Hope you had a belated 4th as well @Shosh85! 🙂 I had thought I might spend some time on BIC yesterday but there was a lot more going on than I thought! haha! Aloe sheet masks are so great to have on hand - perf for after sun masking. 😉 I've used the collagen one from this line (in the purple packaging) but not the rose one. I love that these are made of Tencel fiber and so affordable. You've tried all 3, yes? Any favorite one? hahaha - I started cracking up as I was writing that, thinking "I wonder if Shosh is going to see that question coming from me?" lol.
@itsfi Haha! Why would I ever expect that question from you? 😂 I honestly feel like they were all great! The rose one had awesome results and if not for the scent it'd probably be my favorite. I wouldn't say the scent was bad at all though, I'm just not a big fan of rose/floral scents. I can't really decide which of the other two I like best, though in the summertime I'll feel more inclined to use the Aloe one. So maybe in the summertime my favorite is the Aloe and the rest of the time it's a tie between the two. 😉
If you mask but want to use your serums, what do you do? Do you use your serums first- toner, spot treatments, AHAs, etc etc and *then* mask? And then after that moisturize if needed? I'd imagine you wouldn't put serums on after? Advice, please.
It depends on the mask, @l8totheparty. If it's a wash-off mask, I use it immediately after cleansing, then follow with the rest of my routine after it's been rinsed off. If it's a sheet mask though, then it goes on after my serums, before moisturizer. Sleeping packs, of course, I put on after moisturizer.
@l8totheparty, I second @quspork's approaches. Every once in a while, if a serum is on the thicker side, so if it's more like an ampoule, I might use it after the essence from the sheet mask has been absorbed and before my moisturizer.
Duh, don't wash the serums off. Ooook. *scribbling furiously as I've probably washed serums off before. Lol*
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for your response, @lmaster ! 😊
@l8totheparty well for me it depends what kind of mask. If it's just a sheet mask or wash off I'll do the mask and follow with my routine which includes serums, etc. If it's a sleeping mask it will depend on what type it is and I'll make it fit somewhere my routine. Like one I have has to be the first step so I kinda forget about the other steps.... but I used to have one that I would apply at the end of my routine after my moisturizer (water base), then used oil on top sometimes. It really all depends on the product. I know a lot of sheet masks say wash, tone, apply mask. My "toner" is a hydrating mist. I usually use it after the mask as my first step to my routine. If you use AHA's just make sure you don't use too much on your skin. Some masks (even sleeping masks) have them and depending on how sensitive your skin is you can over exfoliate it. Hope this helps a bit. 🙂
Ooh, I didn't think of AHAs in sheet masks. I know the exfoliating acids, but I don't know all the natural exfoliating AHAs. I have Honeymoon Glow now and Amorepacific peeling mask, those have AHAs. The Amorepacific enzyme peel cleansing powder is for everyday use it says (though I haven't been using it everyday). I don't know any masks with AHAs. Hmm. Do you know any off the top of your head?
Also, if the sheet mask is tacky after, do you still follow it with your watery serums? Some masks I find are more tacky, and I can't imagine putting a watery serum on after. Or are these the ones you mist after? I'm thinking my serums such as Ordinary Niacinamide. Or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair which I don't even know what their magic ingredient is, I just think it might break me out. Lol
Also, would you ever follow a 5-10 min wipe-off hydrating mask with a sheet mask?
Sorry for the late reply @l8totheparty. Masks with AHA's.... hmmmm... OH Cold Plunge, Tatcha Violet-C come to mind. Tackiness won't prevent me from using my watery serums/mists. I know some sheet masks say to use toner before their mask but my toner is more of a hydrating mist and I usually forget to use it before the mask. lol 😄 I think it depends how tacky my skin feels and overall how I feel about what I want to put afterwards my mask. Lots of trial and error and what works for one person might not work for another and vice versa. I could maybe see myself doing a wipe-off hydrating mask followed by a sheet mask depending on the sheet mask and what it does. I'd probably only do it if I was familiar with both products though. Like if I had used them before. If it's a new to me sheet mask maybe not... I don't want that hydrating mask to "influence" the results of the sheet mask. I want to see how it performs on it's own first. I don't introduce more than 1 new skincare item per day and even I find that pushing it. Right now I'm trying to use up a lot of stuff, lots of deluxe samples which means a lot of switching around and it can make my skin go crazy. I find it's best to take it slow. Like I wouldn't buy a whole new line of skincare and start using it all at once... you know.
Hmmmm I might try out that aloe sleeping mask @sonnydee. I like that it wasn't tacky for you.
