2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks @Shosh85! Smiley Happy I really like this color so that coupled with hyaluronic acid being the focus of the sheet mask meant that I had to try this one right away! <3 I too have been happy with the Holika Holika masks I've tried; it's a good brand and they have a lot of sheet masks to choose from! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My skin just felt like it needed a scrub/peel tonight so I used the OH Power Bright.  I realized as I opened this up that I've used the full size of the step 1 sugar scrub before, so I knew that I liked that step.  The other two steps were new to me.  I got a bit distracted and left step 3 on a little too long I think, (directions say 15 mintues but I probably should have stopped at 10).  My skin felt great after the scrub.  It did its job and I looked a bit brighter with softer, exfoliated skin.  My skin did feel a bit dry and over exfoliated around my nose and on my chin where my lip folds over) ... what .. what do I even call that spot?))  though, so I went for a hydrating sheet mask that I've used before and had good results with.  I knew this mask wouldn't have a bad reaction and would give a nice dose of moisture back into my face and it did it's job quickly.  The mask started to dried down in about 15-20 minutes where it normally takes about 35-40, so I'm thinking my skin drank it up as it was in need.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Great masking session @missjeanie! The OH power peel is one of my favorite peels. I've seen a lot of them at the TJ Maxx stores by me and I've picked up a few so I'm all set for the rest of the year - yay!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks @itsfi I think it was you who mentioned that I could get two peels out of the pods.  I did only end up using half of the product in each pod and 'closing' them up with a paperclip and a ziplock bag until I use it up next week.  My skin does feel quite nice today.  I knew my skin needed a good scrub or peel last night and it feels and looks better this morning.  I need to remember to keep up my weekly peels in all my sheet mask madness! lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, weekly peels are great, but yeah, it can get lost in the shuffle when you're masking often.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie Love that OH Power Bright! It really makes my skin so soft and smooth😍

I'm happy to hear you like the HA Creme Shop mask! I have a pack but stilll haven't tried them 🤗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85you should give TCS HA mask a go!  It's been quite nice to have on hand for days where I just need a quick moisture boost!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I just saw those HA Crème Shop masks at Cost Plus the other night @missjeanie! On the fence and almost picked it up but ended up passing. Should I try it? I did notice they have the "LE Cold Brew" to which I say, if everything marked "LE" could last this long I'd be happy as a peach!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe @Is gave no problem recommending this crème shop mask. I find it really great for a dose of moisture. My skin does love hyaluronic acid though.

Was it the cold brew coffee ones they had as well? I’ve seen those and I always think of cold brew as a summer thing so I wasn’t sure how much I’d feel them this time of year.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes they had the Cold Brew as well as the color-correcting masks which I haven’t seen before (but saw positive reviews for here!) @missjeanie. I’ve already repurchased my monthly masking quota so I gotta at least hold off until next week😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Colour correcting masks??? Interesting.  I know some masks could take down redness, but full on colour correcting... now that's a review I'd like to see!

I like that you have a masking quota.... do you set a dollar amount or a count of masks? I know I'm going to need to reign my self in a bit soon lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, the color correcting sheet masks are nice. I’ve used a couple and if I’m remembering correctly, @Shosh85 has tried them as well.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi @missjeanie I've only tried the green one so far and I really enjoyed it! I still have the orange to try👍😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Interesting @Shosh85 and @itsfi ... I just spent like a half hour pouring over their site and looking at these.  Cool product!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfithat's so cool!  What colour did you use?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, I’ve tried all but the yellow one. I have that one but just haven’t gotten around to using it. The ones that have worked best for me are the pink one and the purple one.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

very cool!  @itsfi  Next time you use one be sure to let us know how it goes!

the power bright is a new one for me @ missjeanie thanks...

the power bright is a new one for me @ missjeanie thanks for the time frame warning

Re: the power bright is a new one for me @ missjeanie thanks...

@lmaster I’m not normally shy with peels, but I feel like this one was particularly strong! I’ll stick with staying just under the suggested time on this guy though!

Re: the power bright is a new one for me @ missjeanie thanks...

I agree tho, @missjeanie  certain products are more strong than others

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

After the experience last night, I stuck with already tried masks tonight. Started with Holika Holika pig nose blackhead masking set. Ok overall, it is time consuming 15-20 min for all 3 masks but I havent done one in a while so cant really complain. (B, there is 1 paraben in the 2nd step) After that I applied TCS Hello Kitty (A) nice clean apple scent that took me down memory lane-it reminded me of my shampoo that I used as a teenager. Cant remember the name. Got this single from @itsfi it was day #23 on my advent calendar Thank you so much! 😍🍎While I had this mask on, I applied the Hello Bello lip mask (B-) it left my lips soft but it didnt last. And cause I cant leave y'all disappointed-a close up of the nose strip flash on/off. Not bad! all those dark specks are everything that got ripped out! side note: no sting tonight so must've been something in that particular mask🤔
