@Shosh85 Yes, definitely! I had a bit of hyperpigmentation starting from too much unprotected sun exposure this weekend and now my skin looks completely even again. (Despite having olive skin, even 15 minutes in direct, strong sunlight without sunscreen triggers hyperpigmentation spots for me.)
If someone had long-standing hyperpigmentation, I think they would see good results with this mask after 5-10 applications. It’s very gentle but effective.
@PinkEvergreen Oooh, that's wonderful!! I'll definitely have to make a note of these! 😃
@PinkEvergreen I've seen Job's Tears as ingredients before, what a name. I will be checking this one out, it sounds absolutely beautiful and I just feel empathetic about the name 🙂
@eshoe I found a great entry about the Job’s tears plant on Wikipedia. It’s an ingredient used quite frequently in Asian and other cultures, apparently.
This is my first exposure to it, and WOW did it ever do a great job with my skin. It was red and irritated from heat and sun exposure earlier in the day, and now it looks so even and calm. I’m so impressed with this mask and will definitely buy it again. (For the Canadians in particular: I got it at Chuusi dot ca.)
Thank you for sharing this info, @PinkEvergreen. Seems to me I tried a sheet mask with it a while ago. Definitely will keep it in mind as a skin care ingredient!
That sounds like a fantastic mask, @PinkEvergreen ! I will keep my eye out for it.
But who is Job and why do we want his tears in our mask?
@l8totheparty I’m going to take a guess and assume it’s a reference to this fellow... but I could be wrong! 😌
From Wikipedia:
Job is the central figure of the Book of Job in the Bible. In rabbinical literature, Job is called one of the prophets of the Gentiles. In Islam, Job is also considered a prophet.
And this is why he may be tearful:
Also from Wikipedia:
Job is presented as a good and prosperous family man who is beset by Satan with God’s permission with horrendous disasters that take away all that he holds dear, including his offspring, his health, and his property.
And as it is a plant, I'm guessing, I wonder if the flower of the plant looks like it is crying? Who knows. @PinkEvergreen
But the mask is in my basket for next time. Lol
@l8totheparty They do look a bit like tears 😁 Courtesy of Wikipedia:
And this has been Sephora Science Minute for this Sunday. Join us next time when we discuss the mask ingredient Imperial Bird’s Nest....
😂
Oh em gee! I have a birds nest mask. And have wondered wth it is. Lol @PinkEvergreen
Thanks a bunch for the Sephora science lesson!
@l8totheparty I highly recommend that you don’t look it up until AFTER you’ve used it lol 😂 That’s all I’ll say about that haha...
@PinkEvergreen I have the My Beauty Diary Imperial Birds Nest mask, and unfortunately I did read about it without trying it first 😬😢
Thankfully I forgot what I read about that ingredient when I recently tried the touch in SOL mask, @Shosh85 @PinkEvergreen @lmaster 😄
Apparently birds nest is excellent for your skin lol @eshoe who would of thunk 😆 I think I've even seen people using bird 💩 in facials,,,ummmm no thanks, snail secretions took me a year to try,,,
@lmaster I heard/read somewhere that there's something called 'guanine' in most mascaras, nail polishes and lipsticks. Apparently, 'guanine' is a crystalline material that's found in crushed fish scales. Not as bad as bird poop, but it's up there 😂
@Shosh85 I swear,,, what are we doing?? I hope all this is safe for us to use, that's all I have to say about that 😆
Well if you watch Nature Cat @Shosh85 then you must also know where that beautiful white sand comes from that’s on so many beaches 😆
@eshoe Yes to Nature Cat! Backyard explorer extraordinaire!
Two things:
@Shosh85 you don't know about Nature Cat! Glad you found the game online and enjoyed it. Haha.
@ShortErica @Shosh85 a lot of the cast on the show is from SNL. Bill Hader, Kate McKinnon, I think more, too.
@ShortErica I'm sure I'll be playing that one again soon. Haha! 😂
@eshoe Well I looked it up and found a whole cartoon series.... is that it? Is there a certain episode to look for? Also, while looking this up I found a CBS Kids Nature Cat game.... I kinda got stuck playing it for a bit 😂
